I never imagined I would have to write a review about the cremation of my baby boy, but I feel compelled to share just how incredibly thoughtful and caring the service was. I received Teddy back today, and over the past week, every time I had a question, they promptly returned my calls. The staff was so kind and compassionate. Teddy came back in a beautiful urn, and it was clear that this company truly cares. Along with the urn, I also received a heartfelt card and a candle that smells wonderful. I can’t thank you enough for treating my baby with such love and respect. While I truly appreciate everything you’ve done, I hope to never need your services again haha.

The staff are so friendly and look after my Dog Ollie so well when in boarding . I’ve had several dealing with staff from purchasing Ollie , having behavioural lessons , donating and boarding all are amazing people and help to make the process comfortable.

My beloved Border Collie recently died from a tumour. He was the love of my life. AWL was there to take care of Scruffy after he passed. They collected him from the Vet, cremated him and returned him to me in a beautifully simple container with a card and a candle. Their love and respect of animals..their freely given kindness and their gentle efficiency made it easier to say goodbye, and the tributes they gave me along with his ashes mean he still remains by my side. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My partner and I adopted a cat named Onyx from you at the beginning of march. When we initially adopted her we noticed that her eyes were producing discharge but it eventually cleared up after a couple of days and we assumed it was fine because if she had it before we adopted her and you as the professionals didn’t think it was an issue why would we. After about 3 weeks into having her we noticed the eye discharge had come back, she was less energetic and she didn’t have as much as an appetite. We took her to an emergency vet and was told she had the cat flu which was common in rescues, they gave us an ointment and gave her an anti inflammatory shot for the fever. After a week it seemed like she was improving but approximately 20 days later we noticed she was not eating at all, she was sleeping all day, urinating in places that weren’t her litter box as though she couldn’t make it in time and when she walked the muscles in her back legs weren’t working. We took her to an emergency vet again who advised us the tests we would need to run would be thousands of dollars and that we should get in contact with you as it was unfair we had adopted what we thought was a perfectly healthy cat just over a month ago who was now extremely ill. We fed her the correct royal canine food, she was an indoor cat, we have no other pets, we cleaned her litter box often and purchased high quality litter, there was nothing in our house that could be toxic to her and yet she was extremely sick. I called your company in tears asking for help and was declined it as you only offer vet cover for 14 days, I was told I would receive a call back from you and never did and was met with absolutely no compassion. We ended up taking her to another vet where she had blood tests (which they couldn’t even perform properly because of how ill she was) and an ultrasound. They confirmed to us that she had FIP which is a mutated form of the cat flu, and that the damage to her organs was so severe that even with treatment she wouldn’t survive. We had to put her down that night. I am beyond heartbroken and disgusted with you and your company, the only way she could of got the cat flu was from being around other infected cats, which she had not been exposed to at all after we adopted her. You let us adopt and fall in love with a sick cat, refused to help us even though it was your fault she was sick because you didn’t do a proper health check, and we had to pay 1.5k to watch our baby die in front of us. The pain I feel is indescribable coming home without her here, knowing that I wouldn’t be here right now if you had done your job properly kills me. I wouldn’t trade it for the world though, for the short amount of time we had her we loved her and she loved us with her entire heart. I hope you learn a lesson from this, and I hope you take some accountability for your actions.

We lost our beloved boy unexpectedly and after almost a month, the misery of not having a dog in the house was unbearable so we went to the AWL and had the chance to meet Mavis. Paula and the other staff were lovely, all three that we dealt with were very nice indeed. We adopted Mavis and she now rules our home. Thank you AWL.

What an amazing space! The staff and facilities were well above what I expected.
The care taken with the animal and the service with people who are looking to adopt is 5 star.
For my family who are first timers, I felt the staff took time to allow us getting completely confident and well equiped before committing to adopting and let home. Purchases available for all the pet needs there on site and can donate goods or money for the animals too.
Carpark has one entry and one exit, Ample parking. Clean and sanitiser available.

We rocked out a bit late, and Steve was so nice to let us in to see the cat we want to adopt. On the first day, the other cats we adopted three months ago from the same place became best friends with the new cat (cha cha) immediately.

Gorgeous cats, reasonably priced, very friendly staff. Coffee was very nice too! Will definitely be back with our daughter, she loved seeing all the different cats. Lots to play with and see!

I was excited to visit this cat café, but what I found was heartbreaking. The cats had poop matted in their tails and one long haired white cat (pictured) was so severely matted around the neck, chest, and legs. It had bald spots were the matts were being pulled. When I asked how long the cat had been there, the staff member said over a year. Her excuse for the lack of grooming? “It was winter.” That’s completely unacceptable. Regular grooming is essential, especially for long-haired cats. Being winter is no excuse for not grooming your cats!

To make matters worse, we couldn’t even get a coffee — the only woman working wasn’t a barista.

$15 per person for 30 minutes. Maybe put some of this money towards regular grooming.

If you do go, find the pictured cat and check on its wellbeing / matts and complain so they might actually do something about it.

To the owner / staff, don’t respond downplaying my comment, you know how bad it is.

You can hardly imagine that such an excellent cat cafe is quietly opened here. The cats here are clingy and have smooth fur. The coffee here is delicious and reasonably priced. The venue is spacious and odorless. The proprietress here is enthusiastic and the introduction is really clear. There is the sound of cars on the road, but it is not noisy. Overall its a perfect place to pet cats in your spare time. Recommand！

Love the cats but the owners have adopted the cats (10-15, I’m not how many to be exact) called ” the resident cats ” that no one is allowed to adopt and I feel they are just imprisoned in that little room and are basically there to make them money .

Cats should be with a loving family , should have space , have regular grooming ( cats were matted and sleep in the eyes – seems like never truly looked after ). They should be able to go outside safely and feel the wind , the sun , the grass , run around , climb trees and not be holed up in the tiny room with 10 other cats to make the owners money . They should be up for adoption – that should be the point of the cafe so they can keep helping more and more cats get adopted . It was a heartbreaking experience and I wish more people come out together so they can have a better life . Just giving them food and water isn’t enough . They need freedom and quality of life too !

I visited the cafe with a group of six people in wheelchairs and the owner was a great host, sharing lots of information about the cafe, the cats and how she bought the business.

3/4 of the cats were inquisitive and spent time with us. One cat jumped on my knee and stayed there for 10 minutes. The cats looked healthy and the owner spoke about a few recent large vet bills. The cats enjoyed being patted and there were no cat fights.

Too many negative reviewers don’t understand that cats are nocturnal in nature and sleep multiple times a day. I found a 1/4 of the cats were sleeping.

And the cat area didn’t smell too bad. The cat litter area must be hidden from view and regularly changed.

The cat cafe has helped people volunteer their time to gain confidence and get used to turning up regularly to work.

$12 for 30 minutes with 12+ cats is good. Cat ownership is expensive.

The cafe has also found home for hundreds of rescue cats.

Adopted our latest fur baby from here and i couldn’t recommend anyone over them!
They were so lovely and helpful. it felt like they wanted us to have the cat they were helping us so hard! they were the loveliest people and i’ve been back since i adopted my fur baby because i love it so much!

Definitely a cat person’s dream cafe is cute and sweet with a small selection of tasty goods and coffee. For a small price to maintain the cats you can spend some time with the cats playing them and feeding them snacks. Would highly recommend for all ages kids would have a ball.

So far I haven’t spoken to anyone as I am just apply to adopt a dog but the questions they have asked me to submit to them seem very thorough about me and how I would treat the dog

My kitten had been a pure delight!! She is healthy , happy, and my heart cat ,! As for Paws and Claws adoptions, they were professional friendly helpful supportive and well informed . Couldn’t fault them!

We adopted our rescue dog last May. It was a great experience with our dogs foster carer and the crew from Paws and Claws. Life couldn’t be happier for all of us , rescuing a pet from a tough start to life is a rewarding experience.

Very stressful and draining decision had to be made rather suddenly regarding my very much loved and adored mate “Chocolate” American staffy. Alone and very emotional nursing my mate of 13yrs in my lap on the vets surgery floor I couldn’t bring myself to say the words giving the veterinarian the go ahead to gently put my mate to sleep releasing him from the pain he was surely in. Thankfully with the Support compassion and understanding of exceptional staff l was finally able to say goodbye to a very loyal and loved member of my family. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers you guys are amazing and truely l thankyou from the bottom of my heart. I haven’t decided as yet if I’ll ever adopt another animal but if I do it will definitely be through Paws and Claws Adoption. Friendly and professional staff that understand people.

I rang( in distress) and left a voice mail four weeks ago. I never heard back from them . I clearly stated my number and the situation,which was quite dire. I didn’t bother ringing back.
I understand they’re busy,but a call back with some other numbers would’ve been better than complete radio silence.

Healthy variety of farmyard animals, friendly staff and helpers. Fun place to bring the kids for a quick visit, you may even leave with a cat.

I took my son and his friend here today just for a visit. We’ve never been there before and it was great. One of the volunteers took us and showed us around, and told us a lot of the animals’ backstories, and it was great to be able to pat them all. The volunteers really care for them, and do such a great job looking after them. I highly recommend you go for a visit, and also recommend donating as they’re totally funded by donations.

Came across Fairview Lodge after looking up animal shelters. My girl’s and I wanted to visit to acknowledge and say Thank you for their dedication, hard work, care and Love of the many Beautiful animals that now reside there. Some of these animals wouldn’t have survived if it wasn’t for Fairview Lodge and the Volunteers. So glad we found you, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts , we will be back

This is a fantastic place. I live around the corner and didn’t realise that you could walk around the grounds and pat the animals. The staff were great! They took the time to have a conversation with me and also were helpful when my son with Autism got a little scared of sheep.
I will definitely be back and support what the shelter is doing 100%

These people do an amazing job looking after horses and other animals that are in need of a home and shelter and food. They are open to the public and are lovely people who will gladly have a chat to u and will happily show around if you would like to volunteer. You can take carrots and apples to feed the horses too if u like, my three year old son loves this!

Wonderfully caring staff who really ensure that these beautiful dogs go to the right owners. I was dubious at first but with their encouragement and follow up my boy has become my best friend. Don’t be afraid that greys are too boisterous, they only need 1/2 an hours walking a day. They’re couch potatoes!

We adopted the most beautiful and gentle greyhound, and she has brought so much joy to our lives. While I wholeheartedly recommend adopting a greyhound, I cannot recommend GAPSA as an adoption agency. Our experience with their customer service was incredibly disappointing—we were treated with a lack of care and respect that no adopter should have to endure.

I can say it is totally worth adopting a grey Hound. Our Rosie is amazing she already owns us and feels like family. The team was nothing but supportive to us and really wanted to see these beautiful dogs in homes.

Amelia and Tara are wonderful staffs of GAP that my husband and me have encountered in GAP. They did a fantastic job to make sure the greys are well looked after under fostercare. We had our first fostered dog ‘Pretty’ from them and we absolutely loved it.

I had a wonderful experience adopting my greyhound Libby. The process was very thorough and I came away with a wonderful amount of knowledge to give Libby a great start in her new home. She is an amazing dog and is loved to bits. I am so happy I made the choice to adopt a greyhound. The staff are amazing and are there if you have questions. I have recently lodged an application to get another greyhound and cant wait. I cannot recommend the gapsa highly enough. Wonderful people doing a wonderful job.

After all these years, greyhounds as pets is actually a thing within the industry.

I have had the pleasure of fostering animals through the RSPCA. Although I have to drive a long way but it is only for the absolutely necessary appointments such as pick up and drop off or vaccination and desexing.
Staff have always been incredibly patient and informative with almost immediate access to them through phone and email.
It’s always rewarding to bring an animal home to give them a break from the shelter and also to see them feel safe and their true character shine. My son enjoys helping too to get extra cuddles. Will continue to foster gladly.

New facility looks wonderful, Megan on front desk at entrance was so lovely and helpful.. unfortunately when we went to the cat adoption area the staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. Each cat we went to look at staff would say ‘oh not that one it has behavioural issues.. oh not that one either it doesn’t like kids.. oh not those either they also have behavioural issues’. These cats were coming up to us at the cage and bunting for affection. How do you expect to adopt any cats to loving homes if you dont even give them the chance to meet people. (These weren’t ones behind the blocked off area). We ended up leaving and spending more time with the coffee van outside than we did inside. We adopted from another rescue the next day and unfortunately they’ve heard the same feedback from adoptees about their visit to RSPCA cat section. Disappointing.

Big thanks to RSPCA SA for their support! When we moved in Kurralta Park, a stray cat had already been staying around back yard of the house for 3 years (no one knew his origin, though some people said he had been abandoned). Even after we moved out in the middle of last year, we continued to visit him once a week to provide food and ask help from tenant living there to feed him.
Recently, as the house was set to redevelopment, we tried to find him a new home, but no one want to adopt a 13-year-old cat. I wished to take him in my current house, but the landlord doesn’t allow for pets due to allegies. With no options left, we took him to the vet, but our hope was faded as I learned that although he had a microchip, there were no owner’s details in it, all shelters were full as well.
As a last hope, we contacted RSPCA SA, who miraculously recovered the owner’s phone number from the microchip. To our joy, his original mom overjoyed to take him home after 4 years of losing her beloved cat, Nicky, who gained a lot of weigh. Now Nicky is safe, loved and cared for.

My daughter and I went to the new shelter to look for a cat for our family. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and received a tour around the new shelter. Dimitri showed us around with patience and after nearly giving up he pointed us to an older cat which wasn’t on our list of favourites because of her age. How lucky we were because it was love at first sight from both sides. We have to wait for a few more day for a last vet check before we can take her home. Thank you for your time and help, we were impressed by the friendly new environment and how thorough and thoughtful animals get treated.

Ladies at reception were helpful and explained the process of adopting. I’ve been here twice now, on two separate occasions, and have nothing negative to say.

Today we picked up our Georgie ,our beautiful 21.5 year old cat from the cremation,the staff were fabulous,very kind compassionate and friendly during this difficult time we are travelling,when our girl became ill, the candle and beautiful note and a p tag with Georgie name on it made it more bearable,thank you so much cxxx

I adopted my beautiful boy Hardy from them 9 years ago and he returned to the AWL today for cremation. I am devistated and the staff were friendly, kind and highly respectful. Thank you for your support and help in this difficult time ❤️ bless you all

I would like to thank Jess and the wonderful crematorium team for their compassion, kindness and in looking after our beloved Roti from the time he was picked up from SASH’s Emergency Department up until his cremation day. It was very hard for us to say goodbye to him on Monday, but the genuinely caring people who looked after us at his cremation viewing made what was a bleak day abit better. I want you guys to know that you are amazing, and the work that you do isn’t easy at all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

As a volunteer I loved being with everyone and I loved walking dogs, taking care of the cats aswell. I loved making friends. But sadly because I am different I was misunderstood, and alot of the staff did not understand how I do things or how much experience I have working with animals. I lived a long way from the shelter and sometimes I ended up too early which was not a problem but sadly the staff were angry with me being early. There’s different rules for different people and I was constantly picked on because of these different rules and I had different workers constantly telling me what to do and when I was trying my extra best I had so many people every second telling me different types of things. There was two other volunteers whom were getting away with abusive, disgusting behaviour to other stuff and volunteer. In the end of being a volunteer for one year I had a breakdown and I had a gutful of not being listed, the communication skills need to be worked on and the staff need to be trained how to work with people with disabilities and people with ADHD. It’s sad that everyone does not want me back when they could of been a lot nicer, patient and understanding. I was constantly told that I would get a job with awl but sadly it was broken promises after another. I have applied for jobs and nothing.

The staff need to be trained more and have a bigger heart. There’s alot of two face people in awl and I can’t believe how I invited some people to my wedding and then turn around and hate me. I would love to come back but I don’t think I am welcome back.

We went there for the first time to look into adopting a cat. Felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff here, nothing like there wingfield depot.

Went to say my final goodbye to my boy before he was cremated. Lovely staff who don’t rush you. Very respectful throughout.

I cannot thank AWL enough, for the care and respect they took with the cremation of our beloved dog Odie, our best friend for 12 years.. His urn was given to us in a lovely box, we also received clippings of his fur, framed paw print, documentation, a card and a candle. He was then delivered back home to us by a lovely man, who paid his condolences for our loss.
As sad as it has been, I highly recommend the AWL cremation services.

My partner and I arranged to meet Bev to surrender a small Musk Lorikeet that had been injured. Bev agreed to meet us after hours as we were keen to see if Sparky could fly but unfortunately he was unable to. He was introduced into a large cage with rainbow lorikeets. I rang Bev 2 weeks later and was informed that Sparky was doing well but would need to stay as he could not forage for food. We are very grateful to Bev and her teem of volunteers and helpers for their dedication to injured wildlife.

Outstanding work done for the Nations Wildlife in need, and much time and efforts taken during bushfires that destroyed parts of Kangaroo Island some years previous. If a person has an injured animal or bird they accept them if you drop them off. I had seen a very big baby Magpie, like a toddler who seemed happy but with a sore foot. I wanted info on someone who could catch it and take it to animal rescue place. I think its mother had gone but don’t really know. Minton Farm Animal Farm provides a great service. They help raptors among others and have a big flying space for them and are building more. I think the Magpie wandered over the road. Minton Farm Website had lots of useful info

Paid good money for kitten to find health related problem & had to return it.
Very difficult as we were already attached & it was part of our family.
They did offer another, tho we were hesitant, we accepted. Not long after there were some red flags, which they were aware of. However we persisted, gave it everything it could possibly want, but it constantly attacked all of us randomly & aggresively. .. we already loved it & it broke our hearts to give it up.as we were all so attached. Twice we have gone thru the pain of 2 cats that clearly had something seriously wrong.

Happy to take our money, cause us heartache twice after getting attached & not even offer apology or a suitable healthy replacement or even part refund.

Treated us as tho we imagined it & they know everything.

A year or so ago I got my kitten from Adelaide Kitten Rescue. It was meant to be. I was looking for a ginger female and they had one just went through spaying the day before. I first messaged them on facebook, was contacted by the foster mom, went and looked the next day and came home with my lovely gorgeous queen, the foster mom did a great job socializing her, she’s the most friendly and loving cat. Everything was adoption ready and provided us with all the information we need to know as new cat owner. Will definitely keep adopting from this org and donate! please keep up the good work to help save life, 4 paws at a time!! Thank you Adelaide Kitten Rescue!

We would not need these people if everyone did the right thing by animals and remember all these people have either a fulltime job or are studying and devoting their FREE TIME in HELPING ANIMALS. I for one would kiss their feet for what they do to help animals.

My Nana came in a few weeks ago to gives some stuff after her beloved dog passed away. One of the staff said we have a 1 year old Jack Russell another worker said to the person letting her know about the Jack Russell that he shouldn’t of told her that because she wouldn’t be able to adopt her because of my Nana’s age this was done right in front of my Nana. Your an adoption centre you should be ashamed of the self as this dog needing a home could of been adopted but they made it that this dog couldn’t get adopted you guys should be ashamed of yourself.

An incredible rescue organisation run by Robyn and a team of dedicated volunteers who pour their hard work and passion into every dog. It’s clear that every dog in their care is deeply loved and well looked after. Robyn’s commitment to helping these dogs is truly inspiring. She’s such a kind and devoted person. We adopted the wonderful Darby, who has settled in beautifully!

Great place to get a puppy or to adopt an older dog. Animals are well taken care of. If my husband let me I would have taken them all. But we only came away with one. Friendly staff and volunteers. Highly recommend getting your next or first pup from them.

This shelter is run entirely by a group of compassionate, dedicated volunteers who lovingly care for abandoned and surrendered cats and dogs, relying solely on donations to operate.
If any animal isn’t adopted for some reason, they have a home here for life, if necessary.
I’ve witnessed interactions between a couple of German shepherd sisters and the staff – these darlings clearly adored the people caring for them and giving them lots of TLC.
Please consider adopting from this shelter if you are looking to bring a pupper or kitty in to your happy home.

Called looking for help to find a home for my sisters (who has passed away) dog they were incredibly abrupt and rude not even offering any suggestions just saying I need to sort out paperwork and get legal aid. Incredibly rude and insensitive tone of voice too.

I can’t speak highly enough of Robyn and the team of volunteers here. Their dedication to the animals in their care is outstanding. The pens are clean and spacious and dogs are walked regularly and cats are visited regularly for ongoing socialization. They even have a volunteer visit with a large friendly dog for improved socialization. They are a no kill shelter and not-for-profit. We recently adopted a gorgeous 3 year old cat who has settled in quickly to our family (with other pets). She is microchipped, tattooed, vaccinated, wormed and had flea treatment. There is even a two week trial period to make sure you and your fur baby are well suited. Please support this wonderful shelter as we will be from now on.

I went to offer help as a volunteer. I arrived with food and blankets for the dogs. The lady who was there was sullen and not at all friendly. I couldn’t see the dogs but heard them barking – I have since learned a lot about this “shelter” and how many people have reported them to the RSPCA to no avail. It breaks my heart to know these people use the poor dogs to make money refusing good people who want to adopt. Whistleblowers have tried to do something. Where are you RSPCA?
