Julie Keldoulis

I have joined the over 60s strength training. I have now been to 4 one hour sessions. The groups are small normally 10 and I only go Mondays. Brooke is great at showing and explaining exercises. The groups are lovely…walk in an you get a nice hi and smiles from everyone. Could I do the exercises on my own. Can, but it is nice to have the encouragement

I’m joined here 2 months ago, on hearing awesome things about Rob & Jenna. We started with an assessment & goals that I wanted to achieve which is being pain free from my hip injury!

After once a week session I’ve come to minimal pain in my daily work & built some strength to be normal again. I’m keen to be PAIN Free!

Thanks Guys!

Staff are amazing, very welcoming culture. No judgement what so ever, no matter what you look like or current abilities. I do 1 on 1 and just started group classes. Both amazing. Other members are very nice and welcoming, and celebrate any win you have with you. I love that there are no mirrors as well it reduces that stress of looking at yourself, as well as trusting your body and that it knows what it’s doing.

A small business that truely values its community. The coaches are exceptional and their range of knowledge and care is above all else – they assisted me with injury and working within my limits.

After injuring my knee playing footy, I sought numerous opinions from doctors and physiotherapists, but none of their recommendations suited my needs, as I wanted to avoid surgery. That’s when I came across Rob at FIIT Project, who had extensive experience in knee injuries and rehabilitation. Rob used practical techniques to help me move differently and redistributed the load across other areas of my body, which relieved pressure on my knee. He also provided me with precise exercises to do at home, which I continue to follow.

After finishing football, I never thought I’d be able to run again. Recently, however, I completed my first 10km run without any pain. Since our sessions, I’ve signed up for group classes three times a week. What I love about Rob and Jenna is how much they care about my injuries and how they tailor workouts to my needs. With their knowledge, scaling exercises is a breeze, and I know I can walk into the gym, complete any prescribed workout, and continue working toward my goals—all while enjoying a new way of exercising.

Thanks to my foundation sessions (3 x 1-on-1), I feel comfortable and confident in movements I had never tried before. Although I no longer have my footy community, I can confidently say that the community at FIIT Project has been the best I’ve experienced.

After six months at FIIT Project I am stronger and fitter than I have been in a long time. Returning from injury, my confidence and motivation were quite low and I needed something to get me back on track. Finding knowledgeable coaches, this great community and variety in the sessions has kept me consistent and hitting new goals. A big thanks to Rob and Jenna and the whole crew for embracing me as a new member in such a short time.

Fiit Project are definitely different to all other gyms that I have been to and I’m so glad I’ve joined.
They will modify any movement to suit your needs (Injury, rehab, starting out). For the first time in 6 years, I have been able to exercise properly without setting myself back. They listen to your needs and are consistent with modifying what you need to continue training. Plus they are great people!! Highly recommend.

Koren Helbig

I started weekly PT sessions with Mary hoping to build strength and ease chronic daily pain from a back injury. I felt so much safer knowing she brings both physio and personal training expertise, and also love that she specialises in mid-life women’s health and fitness.

Within just a few months, I noticed a huge reduction in my daily pain (which I’d experienced for almost 10 years), and I’m genuinely surprised at what I’m now able to do. I feel stronger, fitter and more confident and safe in my body.

Mary is a calm yet encouraging presence, and working with her has not only helped me build strength but also given me the knowledge to safely do extra workouts at home. Couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Cannot recommend Mary highly enough. I needed a PT who I could trust, having had multiple orthopaedic surgeries over the years. You really are in safe hands! My daughter is trying to get back into training and had an intro one-on-one PT session with Scott. He knew she was trying to focus on core/balance etc to prepare herself for gymnastics again. He made a follow up call with me, and even after hearing “thanks but this isn’t for her” he made a few suggestions that may be more suitable. It is not often that you will find someone in business looking to help you & point you in the right direction, even while knowing that they will not be making a financial gain of their own. He is obviously passionate about the health & fitness of others and was happy to speak with me for more than just 30 seconds, making a few recommendations and making sure that both my daughter and I were confident that we were heading in the right direction. Thank you Scott!

Catalog of services offered by personal trainers in Adelaide

    Individualised Fitness Assessments

The foundation of any effective training program begins with a thorough fitness assessment. Personal trainers in Adelaide conduct these assessments to evaluate a client's current fitness levels, identify strengths and weaknesses, and establish realistic goals. This often includes measuring body composition, cardiovascular endurance, and muscular strength.

    Custom Workout Program Design

Based on the initial assessment, personal trainers create custom workout programs tailored to individual needs and objectives. This might involve designing a program focused on weight loss, muscle gain, improved endurance, or sport-specific training. Programs are adjusted periodically as progress is made.

    Strength and Conditioning Training

Strength and conditioning training is a core service. Trainers help clients develop strength, power, and athletic performance through targeted exercises and progressive overload techniques. This often incorporates resistance training, plyometrics, and core strengthening exercises.

    Weight Management Programs

Many trainers offer specialized weight management programs combining exercise with nutritional guidance. These programs often focus on creating sustainable lifestyle changes, promoting healthy eating habits, and improving metabolic function.

    Group Fitness Training

For those who prefer a group setting, personal trainers in Adelaide offer group fitness training sessions. These sessions often include a variety of exercises, promoting camaraderie and motivation while providing a structured workout experience.

    Flexibility and Mobility Training

Beyond strength and endurance, many clients benefit from improved flexibility and mobility. Trainers incorporate stretching, foam rolling, and other techniques to enhance range of motion, reduce the risk of injury, and improve overall physical function.

    Corrective Exercise and Injury Prevention

Recognizing that imbalances can lead to injury, personal trainers often provide corrective exercise and injury prevention strategies. This involves identifying movement dysfunctions and designing exercises to restore proper alignment and movement patterns.

    Nutritional Guidance and Support

While not registered dietitians, many personal trainers provide general nutritional guidance and support. This might include educating clients about macronutrients, meal planning, and healthy eating habits to complement their training program and achieve their overall fitness goals. It's important to note that they would advise clients to seek professional advice from a dietitian when necessary.

Frequently asked questions about personal trainers in Adelaide

What qualifications should a personal trainer in Adelaide have?

A qualified personal trainer in Adelaide should hold a nationally recognised certificate, typically a Certificate III or IV in Fitness. Look for accreditation from registered training organisations (RTOs). They also need a current first aid and CPR certificate and may have specialized certifications depending on their areas of expertise, such as group fitness, strength and conditioning, or nutrition.

How do I find reputable personal trainers in Adelaide?

Finding a reputable personal trainer takes some research. Start by seeking recommendations from friends, family, or local gyms. Check online platforms like fitness directories or gym websites, reading client reviews. Look for trainers with a strong online presence showcasing their expertise and client testimonials. Finally, schedule consultations with a few potential trainers.

What is the average cost of a personal training session in Adelaide?

The cost of personal training sessions in Adelaide varies depending on the trainer's experience, qualifications, and the type of session offered. Expect to pay anywhere from AUD $50 to $150 per session. Packages and long-term commitments often offer discounted rates.
