I usually go here after uni! Supportive and friendly team! However, the music is a bit odd and distracting giving such a bad vibe! Too strong and loud! Also most of machines are out of order so I have to use the dumbbells instead which is really sad. The trading hours changed! The elevator is always broken and it’s so annoying to use another way to the gym.
They've never fixed the broken machines. In the ladies' gym, three treadmills have been broken for a long time; only one works. I think they never check stock availability; there is often no toilet paper, paper towels, soap and no disinfectant. I was in the toilet, as I was bursting, and I found no toilet paper. I asked the clerk, and he told me to use my own towel to clean the equipment. People use their towels to wipe their sweat. Temperature is too high even during the winter season. I already spoke to the team about this, but nothing has changed. The management team is really bad, and I feel sorry for the front desk team and cleaners. I heard they escalate issues to the manager every day, but nothing has changed. Some cleaners have even quit due to a lack of supplies. I work at the city, so I have no choice; otherwise, I wouldn't use it.
The staff don’t seem to care about the opening hours. It’s becoming more and more common for them to not turn up in the morning to let people in. This morning there would have been 40-50 people either waiting, or giving up and leaving because nobody turned up to open the gym. Unfortunately this isn’t the first time and it’s now a regular occurrence that the gym isn’t open at the advertised time of 6am. Most of the time it’s before 6:30am, however today was 7am before someone arrived to open. We have been told there there will be key fobs coming to allow 24:7 access again, however it has now been months and when asking the manager, he advised he hasn’t been told if or when this will be made available for Rundle Mall. It’s also very dirty with the bathrooms often not cleaned from the day before. On the positive, the equipment is good quality and there’s an abundance of weight plates available. If it wasn’t for the staff not caring about their members standing outside for over an hour (sometimes longer), this review would be much higher. At this stage I won’t be renewing my membership, which is frustrating because it’s in the perfect location for me to train before work. It’s just a gamble whether you can actually get in or not.
The low annual membership price and equipment variety brought me in, but the gym has increasingly had more and more problems. I’ve been here for 1.5 years and so many treadmills have been out of order for a lot of that time, which is really inconvenient during peak busy times. It’s quite crowded now that it’s no longer 24/7, people who trained late at night / middle of the night (including myself) now need to go during the day - smaller time window equates to more people at once. We were told a fob system would be implemented so the gym could return to its former 24/7 access, but it’s been 5 months and nothing yet. Now that it’s crowded it’s almost impossible to use the seated row machine, there’s only one and it’s a popular piece of equipment, I’ve needed to substitute the exercise almost every time. These things on their own aren’t a big deal and wouldn’t bother me, but it’s compounding and becoming a hindrance. I’m currently looking at other gyms for when my membership finishes, which is a shame because I liked this gym when I first joined.
One of the most run down derrimut gyms .Eg.One out of 5 treadmills work in the ladies gym for the past 4 months. The stairmaster stopped working, they removed it instead of replacing it .
Not 24/7 but call themselves 24:7 Gym. It’s always crowded and dirty. Many people work out without a towel. But no one care Many machines, especially those cardio machines are always broken. For example, stair masters have been broken for more than three weeks, only one is usable but always someone using. Not going to resign even if the price is cheap.
The environment is getting worse and worse. I have already cancelled my membership, but they are still deducting money from me. If I hadn't gone there in person twice, no one would have replied to my messages. And I was told that only the money for three times could be refunded. It was a very bad experience.
