I found my experience at addicted to audio totally superb. I’m so thankful I came in store and heeded the reviews so many others have left on Google! If you want a sound that makes you go WOW – Frederique and the team (shout out to Marek for carrying the speakers to my car!!!) are the ones for you. The store itself is super aesthetic and the staff match that style. The personalised attention to what sound you like and your own budget and living space needs… don’t do the heavy lifting reading forums online comparing stuff – come in let them demo the equipment and help you choose something that makes you go “wow”. It’s so worth it. Huge props to Frederique and the team!!

Addicted To Audio is my favourite shop in Adelaide. Love going there to check out the latest and greatest in Hi-Fi gear. I have made a few purchases in the past year, and Marek and Lewi are very friendly and helpful. My most recent purchase was a pair of Hifiman Ananda Nano open back planar headphones. I originally had my heart set on the Sundara’s, until Lewi showed me the Ananda Nano’s. Yes, they were more expensive, but I was better off paying more for something better that could very well possibly be my end game headphones. I strongly recommend Addicted To Audio to any HiFi enthusiast or audiophile. Excellent range of products for those looking to start off their Hi-Fi journey, and those who are well and truly in to it!

Frederique went above and beyond. First time shopping for new floor standers and she took the time to setup and demo multiple brands. Exceptional service from Frederique, very happy with my new QA5050’s. Will definitely be back again.

I’ve always relied on music to fill in gaps between meetings and breaking the monotony of silence. After pondering “what does better sound like?” and researching online, I was inundated with reviews without any experience to benchmark what I would enjoy personally.

I came across Addicted to Audio searching for a place to demo headphones. I was attended to by Lewi who was very knowledgeable and provided advice to help me narrow in on something that would suit my needs and expectations.

Despite originally having the idea of closed-back headphones, I ended up deciding on a pair of IEM’s.

For those on the fence about dropping in, I encourage you to do so. Whilst Reddit and YouTube feel like they help, visiting the store saved me from gambling money on headphones I had never heard.

Audio is such a subjective experience. Some like Bass, some like to hear the highs more. Addicted to Audio help take the guesswork out of buying anything audio. Deciding on some IEM’s? $100 Budget? $600? $1,500? Their ability to select snd often beat your budget with a IEM wine tasting of the sorts is excellent.

I wish everybody knew about this store and that audio for the masses was more than a shallow opinion of “it works”. Why not enjoy it?

The staff here continue to show me time and time again they work there for passion and sharing that passion with others.

I highly recommend Adelaide Audio Institute if you are interested in learning about music production (Or , indeed, are in need of their professional recording, mixing and mastering services). I did their Music Production course as I had a poem that I had been wanting to turn into a song for 24 years. Both Dylan and Ant are amazingly talented, intimately know their subject, and have a very good teaching style making it easy to understand the concepts and functionality of the software. They are both very friendly, gentle, patient, understanding, encouraging, helpful beyond measure, always willing to answer my many questions, and go above and beyond. At the end of the course I had my song! All mixed and mastered ready for release! How darn cool is that? The value that I got out of this course goes far, far beyond any money amount that I may have paid. It is priceless! I am now onto my second song and can also hire their studios when I want to do more recording. I cannot speak highly enough of Adelaide Audio Institute, Dylan and Ant! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

I was apprehensive of going into a learning environment as someone who was destroyed by Uni but found the mentors incredibly authentic, kind, flexible and personable. The environment feels welcoming and casual while being able to focus in on your goals and leave you with a bunch of new skills and ways of looking at music. Mid-course I was already experimenting with integrating Ableton into my live gigs. I came in with no idea of how to use Ableton and left with the start of an EP unfolding and a bunch of half made tracks. Something I didn’t expect to achieve. It’s left me feeling capable and the supportive 1 on 1 sessions was the perfect way for me to learn. Big respect to AAI for the knowledge and confidence you’ve given me to feel like a valuable future producer in the electronic scene.

Adelaide audio institute is the best in Adelaide. Would highly recommend as i am super happy with the courses they provide. Paul is a great teacher and whenever i come in i learn something new. The institute is very well equipped with everything you need to learn. I am looking forward to learn from them for a long time.

I couldn’t recommend AAI DJ beginners course more. It’s been such a great experience and I’ve had so much fun along the way.

I couldn’t speak more highly of Dylan – he is friendly, patient, passionate about what he does and shared so much musical knowledge with me. It can be daunting trying out something new but he took the time to make sure if I had any questions that they were answered and made me feel super comfortable.

If you’re considering it, please give it a crack with this great place. They have all been a wonderful and I’m so grateful for my lessons which have given me somewhere to start!

I have a brand new semi acoustic Guitar and was struggling to play comfortably on it. I got it set up at The Sound Garage and my experience is now wayy better than what it was. I had the pleasure of attending a guitar setup course today and it was  fantastic! The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and their teaching style was thorough and detailed. He left no stone unturned when it came to adjusting the action, intonation, string height, and neck relief. The course was designed in a way that allowed for plenty of hands-on practice, which really helped solidify the concepts taught. I left the course feeling confident in my ability to properly set up my guitar. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to enhance their guitar playing experience!

I took my 2001 Rickenbacker 5 string 4001 bass to Jordan with long term problems with the neck and action. Jordan had a look and diagnosed the problem and provided me with options. Jordan straightened the neck lowered the action and replaced the frets. I am very pleased with the results of Jordan’s work so much so that I plan to use it in my upcoming Fringe show. I’m gonna take my other basses to The Sound Garage and attend the Guitar Maintenance course in the near future. To me the thing that stands out as much as Jordan’s experience and knowledge is his passion for what he does.

Repairs and fixes are done very well and in most cases you get you guitars back on the same day. Jordan is highly skilled and experience in his trade. He is very generous with his knowledge and also educates customers on guitars. I have also attended his guitar setup class which I really enjoyed and couldn’t recommend enough. Frank. aka “Mr. Fender” is by far the best guy in Adelaide for almost everything electrical! If you have a tube amp that needs re-biasing or re-fitting – do not hesitate to give Frank a call! Oh by the way, don’t call on a Monday! 5/5 Stars 🙂

charged $310 to replace a mains switch on my fender. I feel this was too high for such a simple repair, but I have heard frank is thorough. he told me that everything had been thoroughly checked over, but he missed a faulty voltage regulator. this poor result took a month. I couldn’t wait another month for him to try again so I paid another tech to fix the reg. but frank was polite, he has a good rep and he has lots of work on, so maybe this was a rare poor experience.

Took my Blues Jr. down to Frank to repair a bad hum, not only did he fix the hum, but recommended a few upgrades and delivered me back an absolute cannon. Couldn’t be happier and a lovely guy to deal with.

Frank is a master of his craft, providing the best advice and service for musical equipment in SA. I suggest any local musician to hit him up for any service or repair they need. He will go above and beyond for his clients.

Frank is the man. Thorough, honest and took the time to explain every detail of my Peavey amp issues. Make sure you call ahead and book a time as he is a man in demand.

Walk in repairs requested for the Apple Car play unit in my van. Despite difficulties in opening the unit, the determined operator had the job done on the spot and working to my satisfaction. While the shopfront is not pristine- the efficiency of the operator and his determination to solve the issue was service beyond excellence. Happy to return.

First time customer. Walked in, diagnosed my issue with a subwoofer within minutes. Given a quote and job was ready to be picked up the next morning. How good is that.
Highly recommended. Will be returning with more gear soon.

I’ve been using Adept electronics for both domestic and business repairs for several years and have experienced great sales and service compared to other businesses I’ve used in the past. I recently had a CNC machine centre component that is usually very difficult and expensive to replace or repair, Adept quickly found the problem and promptly repaired it at a very reasonable price. The owner showed me the component mid repair in the workshop and I was astounded by the sheer number and varied jobs they were in the process of repairing, which speaks volumes about their skills and reputation. Their level of technical knowledge was evidently clear.
I’d recommend Adept electronics to everyone…. 5 stars!!

I was a walk-in and the lovely proprietor soldered up two vintage 2-pin din > modern speaker cables on the spot, and charged me next to nothing.

Generous and efficient service

DON’T TRUST THIS BUSINESS! Dropped off a Pioneer amplifier/receiver for repair (approx 5 years old and little use) and paid $99 deposit. Was told to call back in 1 week to see how it was going. Called back after 1 week and was told that they were waiting on parts and try again in another week. 2 weeks later after hearing nothing I called back to be told the part was no longer available and they would try souce a second hand part. Months later I had still not heard back and went into the store. It’s filthy dirty and stuff everywhere. Technician said he still hadn’t sourced the part and I asked why I was not called or followed up on this. He could not answer. I said you either have the part and can get it or you don’t. His customer service skills were almost non existant and I asked for the amplifier back. He said I would have to wait to put it back together. I ended up walking out saying stuff you, as was not given a refund for my deposit.
Just look at the negative reviews and you start to see an alarming trend here over the years…
* No call back or updates on what you drop off no mater how long you wait (can be many months)
* Terrible customer service
*Say they waiting on parts when they arn’t or have none available
*Often use second hand parts and charge full price if they have them

I would avoid at all costs and find a place reputable. I am very surprised they are still in business! Discraceful and they should be ashamed!

Dropped off a DDJ-FLX4 that had a bit of water damage a few months ago they charged me $90 to find out what’s wrong with the deck after I have already had taken it all apart for them. Then with no notice I was waiting for multiple weeks I kept following up to see how the deck was going didn’t ever get a call back, then they postponed the repair saying it’s not ready and the parts were not received they then quoted $380 which I bought it for 500 just to fix a small part of the deck I then asked them to put it back together so I can come collect I went to go get it and when I collected the buttons were missing and some didn’t work I had to haggle with him to give me a $40 refund out of the $90 so came in with a okay deck came out with a even worse one.

Just before Xmas I dropped of a LG REAR WIRELESS RECEIVER WHICH STOPPED WORKING. SO I DROPPED THIS OFF. PAID 99 DOLLARS .ABOUT 2 MONTHS NO. CALL, SO I DROPPED IN. SEEMS THE POWER UNIT was blown. Parts hard to get
Estimated 5 months. Still no response, what ever you need repaired, avoid this place. They owe me 99 dollars. Extremely poor service and lack of communication

Hi Mandy,

– I had troubleshooted and marked on the circuit diagram the components/areas that were faulty. You quoted me an incredibly high price for the repair (close to the RRP) so I asked for a justification for that price, including what further faults you had found in addition to what I had provided you with, and you were not able to give me a straight answer.

– When I went back to pick up the amplifier, your technician told me he still would need to spend several hours to even find the fault.

– If you had disclosed to me that you are limited to only musical electronic equipment, and had not accepted to take a look at my product as that was not your area of expertise anyways, I would not have had to spend time and money with your business.

My $6.5k Tyros keyboard was in total polished and pristine condition with zero imperfections but came back with visible scratches on 3 white keys.
