Despite having an emergency call out earlier on the day of my booked quote, Ben called in after hours to assess the work I was considering. He clearly explained the work involved, and provided a written quote before leaving.
After accepting the quote, and the work was completed within a week.

While waiting for an item to be couriered so that all work could be completed in one day, Ben took the initiative to clearly label the power board, and completed an extra job that had not been previously quoted.

Not a happy experience with Adelaide Urban Electrical. They completed the work but, in the process they broke two television cables in the roof cavity of my house, I wasn’t aware of the damage until they had left. Called them immediately, but the best they would do was return ‘sometime’ the next day. I ended up climbing into the roof cavity and fixing the cables myself. One month later they still not bothered to apologise for the damage.

The work was done promptly and well. On his own initiative, Brian checked our smoke detectors, found them to be out of date and replaced them.

Brian has been our go to electrician for several years. He has completed a range of jobs, including rewiring our 1920s bungalow, replacing lights, installing an outdoor ceiling fan and replacing a smoke alarm. He always arrives when he says he will, or makes contact if a change is necessary. All work is completed to a high standard, with appropriate certification supplied. Rodney did a list of jobs for us last week, some of which were not straight forward. He gave us a reasonable quote and we didn’t bother to look further. He took time to discuss with his plumber and ordered a part to get our indoor water feature running again. Another job which we thought was due to a fault and switched off power in the area for a long time. Rodney investigated and told us it was in fact working. He was very honest to tell us so and didn’t charge for this job.

Well I use Cornell Electrical about 7 years ago and back then I found them to be very efficient, very tidy and very very polite. So this time was a no braner.

We got two quotes for the replacement of our oven switching it from gas to electric. Not only was Cornell one third of the cost of the other company but they also reduced the quote when some aspects of the work were not required. The quote was supplied quickly, and we were able to book the job for a time that suited us. The staff were friendly, arrived on time, and completed the job quickly leaving the work are clean and tidy. We could not fault the service and value for money we received and would definitely recommend Cornell Electrical. Thank you!

Based on three jobs, the work was mostly well done; one job needed further waterproofing.
The service was always friendly and professional.
The minimum charge is high even for the simplest of jobs. However, on one occasion I think a job took longer than expected but I was still charged the quoted minimum fee, which was much appreciated.
There was some discrepancy between what one electrician said Cornell’s could do and what was actually done by another electrician, but overall the work was well done and satisfactory with timely communication and follow-up.

I don’t often write a review but this company is truly outstanding. Every other business I called didn’t want to look at replacing a older air-conditioning unit in caravan, Cornell went above and beyond to help me get the smallest unit which I needed for the tight space we have and installed it. Fixed lighting and also fixed a split system at home. From matt to the 3 guys that came out to do the job from Start to finish were outstanding. Aswell as the lovely girl i spoke to back and forth the day I booked in. If they all haven’t had a pay rise in a while they definitely deserve one. Highly recommend these guys thanks again for the awesome work now we’ll be able to take the caravan away and be in comfort. ❤

Had a man arrive at our Early Childcare Centre in a Local Guys Test and Tag ute without a booking and park idle in the carpark, so we approached the car to enquire why he was there. Upon this enquiry, the man became aggressive that we did not have a booking for him so we wouldn’t be able to facilitate him completing a testing and tagging today. We had not received any communication and working for a national company did not recognise the ute or company logo. We implement checks on any unknown car in our carpark, to ensure we maintain child protection standards by not allowing unknown persons to attend the service, especially unannounced. He raised his voice and I had to walk away to deescalate the situation. We called the 131105 clearly printed on the back of the ute and it seems there was no booking at our service and he was in the wrong place. We reported his number plate to the company. He drove off, presumably realising he was in the wrong place, without coming in to apologise. Extremely disappointing to see such behaviour in a Childcare Centre carpark.

Nitin delivered an excellent service, he was prompt, polite and the best price. Definitely recommend him our friends and colleagues.

I had new power points installed in a very old upstairs unit. This was a condition for the sale of this property. The electrician Isaiah was very helpful, taking the time to explain all options, offer good advice and make sure that he met my needs well. He did a great job and was friendly and efficient. He even took the time to clearly explain what he did and why it had to be done the way it was on the invoice so that this could be shown to the buyers if needed. I was very grateful for this. I highly recommend MCL Electrical Installations and will definitely use them again.

I called Matt from MCL Electrical to supply and install a sensor light at the front of my house. After doing the usual ring around for three quotes I found myself being offered several reasonably price options by Matt whereas I was brushed off by others. His trade knowledge and experience was quiet clear after just a phone call. I felt confident in having him work on my home. Matt completed the works on time and to an extremely high standard, he cleaned up once he was finished and fully explained the operation of the new light and its features. The next time I need an electrician I will be calling on MCL Electrical the first time, highly recommended!!!!!!!

After phoning two other local companies and being quoted an exorbitant amount to do a relatively small job, even for New Year’s Day, Matt could not have been more helpful, professional and exceedingly well priced. I was expecting some resistance especially after my experience with the last two calls but his friendliness and understanding far exceeded any expectations. Before you even read my review below google Metropolitan Plumbing and Electrical story on A Current Affair September 2023. (I wish I had seen it first) This company is still up to it’s old tricks!!!!!!! Then go to their plumbing website and read those reviews. Do not use this company unless you want to be legally scammed. It is not against the law to charge what you want but what they are charging their unsuspecting customers is outrageous.
Got home from the beach on 2nd January to find I had no power & the safety switch would not correct. So contacted this electrical service who actually had the cheapest call out fee of $140 & was the only one I called who could attend on the day & now I know why – they make a fortune this way. The electrician arrived within the hour which was great but then it began. He couldn’t find the problem immediately so then he had to do an investigation – quote $1100!!!
The $1100 investigation included using a little device & checking all the plugs in the house – not brain surgery! Funnily the problem was the fridge – one of the first applianes and power points he should have checked for my $1100.
So that took half an hour & then the even better news. He said the fridge had blown the safety switch which leading to another quote of $1250 to replace it. So for just over an hour’s work & one safety switch I was charged over $2300! Plus I had to buy a new fridge!
HOW IS THIS LEGAL? What is going on with how business is being conducted during this cost of living crisis is totally outrageous. This has to be price gouging at its most audacious!

The day after I rang Business & Consumer Affairs and this company is under investigation by them – also they have been featured many times on A Current Affair for this very thing. But according to the law they can charge what they like. So anyone wanting to use their services please, please read the product reviews like I should have!!!!! in fact read the product reviews before you employ any contractor – it will save a lot of time and money.

Technician arrived late at night as per my request and made me feel comfortable from the get go. JW was very comforting and made everything seem easy. Very pleased with the experience and the job that has been done is fabulous! Thankyou again for coming out so late.

The $140 is for them to give you a quote, and the quote given is far beyond resonable. They also refuse any progession in complaints not letting you speak to manegment. Do you research before you use this company as they have been on A current Affairs.

Buyer beware: this company will over quote, over charge, and expose you to safety and insurance issues.

They have been known to deliberately inflict additional damage and then quote an additional multiple of their original charge to fix that.

No one needs to pay $1,049 per hour to “investigate” – not even attempt to fix – an electrical issue when a reputable sparky will probably sort you out for a fraction of this scammer’s fee.

Tip: Never pay them via bank transfer: use a card so you can contact your bank and claim a fraudulent charge back (or at least a refund for services not received)

They charged me $141.00 for call out and behaved like a professional company until they took the payment. The electrician arrived 2 hours late and wandered around the unit and put their marketing stickers all over the unit. He looked at the switch board and quoted me $2,300 to replace an 40A RCB.

LW came over promptly arriving at 1.58pm (promised by 2pm arrival) on Boxing Day, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and very thorough with his work. Luke explained the issue with our faulty switch and work required clearly and made sure all options were covered. His professionalism was appreciated as he gave us advice as needed, our smoke detectors were due too and checking our airconditioning system, its isolator and circuit as well. All sorted and work areas cleaned before walking us through before after photos of work completed. Excellent work! Highly recommend asking for Luke! Thank you so much!

Big thanks to Delight Electrical for helping us out with our office’s electrical upgrades. We had growing power needs, and they quickly pinpointed that we needed a switchboard upgrade. The job involved some tricky underground cabling, but they handled it with no issues. They also replaced our old lights with new LEDs, and the whole office feels fresher and more modern now.
