I’ve been meaning to write this for so long but life kept getting in the way. My two dogs stayed here for two months, and honestly, they couldn’t have been in better hands. The team cared for them like their own, gave them their meds right on time, and kept everything spotless. I felt completely at ease knowing they were so well looked after. Thank you from the bottom of my heart – we’re so grateful! ❤️

Thank you very much, dear Dylan and Tabitha, for your perfect hands, attention and the extraordinary effort looking after our furr – Scottish fold baby Kyzya!
He’ve arrived home calm and relaxed today, after one month of our holiday, and that is the best evidence for us – he had a very good care and was happy at GGBK.
We definitely will be back to Golden Grove Boarding Kennels & Cattery one day again and highly recommend this place to everyone.
Best wishes to you, guys, and your business!

It was my dog’s first time staying at a kennel, and since he’s very timid, I was quite worried. But the lovely team at Golden Grove Dog Kennels quickly recognized his anxiety and thoughtfully prepared a comfortable sleeping area for him so he could feel safe and rest properly.
I had inspected several places before, but Golden Grove was the only one where I genuinely felt a sense of cleanliness and care — the fresh and clean scent immediately put my mind at ease.
The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. I’m truly grateful to them for taking such good care of my little one.

Our 4 bulldogs just spent 11 days at Golden grove as we attended a wedding overseas. I never thought I would feel so confident and comfortable leaving our dogs at boarding kennels. The facilities are great and just the whole vibe of the owners give you peace of mind. We collected 4 very happy dogs. If you’ve had concerns boarding your bully breeds, board them here, I highly recommend them
Couldn’t be happier with their care

Our White Swiss Shepherd has been staying here anytime we go away since we moved into the area several years ago. He’s always in good shape and spirits when we collect him. Easy to tell that Dylan and Tabitha are ‘dog people’ and our boy is comfortable with them.

Customer Reviews
We recently went on an eleven night holiday and had to find someone who we felt would be the right person to look after our 7 month old Golden retriever who we are really attached to as he is attached to us, after looking into Margaret’s dog house and visiting her , we still were not sure as it’s still a difficult thing to do , is to leave a pet you care so much about with someone you really don’t know. Murphy our retriever had an amazing time with Margaret and her other dogs she cares for and to see the care , passion and love she has for dogs is quite rare . She did an amazing job and we will be bringing Murphy back for a visit from time to time as Murphy bonded with Margaret with ease and we highly recommend Margaret to care for your family member. She was amazing.
Thank you so much Margaret for taking such good care of Murphy, you put our minds at ease.

We left our little girl Lola at Margaret’s Dog House for three nights and four days, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. Lola settled in right away and was clearly at home under Margaret’s care. Margaret is passionate about dogs, and it shows in the way she treats them—kind, attentive, and professional. Her place is spacious, with plenty of room for the dogs to play and relax. We received some update photos, which was terrific too. Margaret’s experience and dedication to the well-being of each dog are second to none. We recommend Margaret’s Dog House to anyone looking for a great environment for their dog

Margret has been looking after Milly for 3 days a week for the last few months. Plus some sleep overs. Milly LOVES Margaret! She is always excited to see her and happy to stay. Milly has grown from a shy pup to a socialised and friendly 1 year old. She used to be nervous meeting other dogs, she is now more confident and socially aware. Margaret has been awesome in supporting me practise training skills to calm my super excited pup on pick ups. Have no hesitation recommending Margarets care and attention for your pooch.

I cannot recommend Margaret’s Dog House based on my experience. During my first visit, I observed behaviour that deeply concerned me, Margaret appeared to be quite harsh with the dogs, including actions such as slapping and showing a clear lack of patience. It was troubling to see such treatment in a setting meant to care for animals. In my opinion, there seemed to be little genuine interest or compassion toward the dogs in her care.I will not be returning and would encourage others to explore alternative options where animals are treated with kindness and respect.

Everyone at ABT are truly superstars!! Like, legit superstars and heroes!
My beautiful kelpie cross, Rudi, has been attending classes and daycare at ABT, and without fail, every single experience has been nothing short of amazing. Thanks to ABT, we’ve grown into better and more confident owners.
Rudi has participated in K9 Kindy, Adventure School, Level 1 Obedience, and regularly enjoys Doggy Daycare. She’s currently thriving in Paws Unleashed. The growth in Rudi’s focus and overall well-being, especially her energetic kelpie mind, is a direct result of the enriching environment provided by ABT. We can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for Rudi.
We’re excited for all the adventures still ahead, knowing she’ll continue to flourish in your care!
Lots of love from Star, Jake, and Rudi
P.S. ABT do birthday parties for dogs as well! With a doggy cake!!

Amy Van Dyk is an excellent dog trainer that helped me solve K9 ANGEL’s (Black and Tan Working Line German Shepherd) dog reactivity in 2013, helped with her preliminary training and to get up to par to sit her first Service K9 PAT test before our first flight to Los Angeles back in 2015. Amy’s positive, reward based methods worked excellent on K9 Angel and we never had reactivity after working through it with her back in 2013. Amy helped instil the preliminary foundations, and her methods of letting the dog emotionally understand that reactions are unnecessary actually solved K9 Angel’s dog reactivity in the long term. K9 ANGEL went on to become a globally accredited Service K9 with Assistance Dogs of the West (based in New Mexico) under ADI in 2016, a course with a 85% attrition rate for most dogs, requiring the highest level of obedience, skill and composure in the dog.
Amy even helped us on call at the airport before boarding the flight to LA with creating her PAT test certificate according to the airlines guidelines, something we used throughout our time in LA.
K9 Angel travelled across the USA and lived in Los Angeles for 13 months from 2015, in the middle of Hollywood Blvd, a high stress, high traffic environment and was exposed to multiple dogs daily. Because of her training with Amy who took the time to let K9 Angel understand the situation and not to react and what behavior to perform instead, she took these high stress, high trigger environments all in her stride, and we never dealt with reactivity after going through it in 2013. K9 Angel unfortunately E.O.W’d on duty in 2018 and is greatly missed, and forever cherished.
I trust Amy with my dogs due to her expertise in dog behavior and real life experience in actually solving reactivity. So much so that we travelled from Canberra to Adelaide in October 2024 to do a one month bootcamp style training month with WOLF (Sable Working Line German Shepherd) to help solve his reactivity issues. Wolf tends to be suspicious of strangers but took to Amy immediately, and was super social and affectionate with her. Amy is the first trainer to have handled Wolf like she did in October since Wolf was a puppy. Amy is a natural with dogs and animals, she is especially gifted with working breeds. We made huge progress with Wolf in the month, having training every second day, sometimes twice a day, and Wolf truly enjoyed the sessions. I highly recommend Amy and the team at Advance Behavioural Training for anyone with a dog, especially a working breed, and Adelaide is lucky to have her and her facility! We only wish we had access to ABT in person as we would have progressed much further had we started off with them and had them local! Again, can’t recommend her enough for working line dogs especially!
Attached are images of K9 Angel (black and tan) with some of her accomplishments, and K9 Wolf (sable)

All the staff at ABT are wonderful and helpful. Our Dog Noctis goes to daycare and has a blast it’s been fantastic for socialization, he’s completed level one and level two obedience, gone to birthday and costume parties and we always get lots of photos, feedback and support. Personalized care and help is a constant. They are also fast to respond to concerns. I would recommend them to everyone.
Special mentions to the wonderful owner Amy who is a bright face that’s always present and trainers/daycare/admin attendants Ollie, Chantelle, Aiden, Lucy, Lily, Mignon, Cassie, Ashleigh, Victor, Courtney and Emma who always treat our boy like he’s the most special dog around.

ABT chaperoned our two dogs for our wedding. One of our girls is very anxious and her trainer, Aidan, handled her amazingly. I felt so comfortable leaving our girls with both of the trainers, and they took them home, gave them dinner and dessert (which was pupcakes supplied by them) and put them to bed. They also helped to get our girls to look towards the camera for photos, and they made sure they were safe and comfortable. It was a wonderful experience and took away so much stress from us. I couldn’t recommend this service more.

Thank you, Aidan, at ABT, for the excellent one-on-one training with our dog Winnie! Winnie is an anxious and reactive dog, so attending the usual puppy classes was challenging for us. While we’ve had great success with ABT’s puppy classes for our other dogs, it wasn’t as easy this time.
ABT was very understanding and allowed us to transfer our prepaid fees to an at-home training session. This was exactly what Winnie needed. In just one 2-hour session, Aidan’s positive and calming attitude as a trainer made a noticeable difference. We could already see the benefits! You were right Winnie was very tired after his training session. Highly recommend Aidan.

ABT has been amazing for me and my first pup. K9 Kindy and the adventure classes have improved Caspers confidence, focus, and behavior in public and around other dogs. I’m so pround of his progress in such a short time. He started off very shy but after a couple classes, he was super excited for them and loved every second. The trainers are so supportive and knowledgeable, making each session fun and effective. Highly recommend ABT

We are so lucky to have recently found Amy at PawrentalGuidance to help us manage our high energy 10 month old vizsla pup when we are away from home. Our pup absolutely loves Amy and comes home from his outings happy & exhausted. It was evident from the first day we met Amy that she is super caring and a dog lover at heart. We highly recommend using Amy if you are in need of support in exercising and socialising your pup/dog.

We had Amy dog and house sit for us over the school holidays and she did an absolutely brilliant job. Our pup Mochi is a very energetic 7-month-old male Labrador, and as first-time fur parents, we were pretty nervous about leaving him. But Amy quickly built a lovely connection with Mochi and put us at ease.
She prepared enrichment activities and took Mochi out for walks and play sessions, which were great for his socialisation. Amy also shared heaps of helpful training tips—she clearly has loads of experience with animals, and it really showed in how she managed Mochi’s energy and behaviour. While we were away, she kept us regularly updated with messages, videos, and photos, which was so reassuring and lovely to receive.
When we got back, Mochi was honestly disappointed it wasn’t Amy and her doggo Ruby walking through the door—he clearly misses them and all the fun they had together! To keep him happy, we’ve decided to have Amy back as Mochi’s regular walker.
Amy also left our house super clean and tidy, which was such a lovely touch to come home to.
Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible and thoughtful sitter.

We were in an emergency situation with Molly our dachshund and were well informed about our options by Tara the vet. Her detailed explanations helped with decision making for Molly. It was evident that other vet/s were consulted in managing Molly’s condition which gave us confidence.
Everything turned out well fortunately.
Sarah handled the discharge preparation well and helped with decision making too. The nurses and other reception staff were lovely and respectful. Looks like a good team.

My experiences with SASH when my pet is in a crisis has been that the staff, from surgeon, vet, nurse to client service team member have been compassionate, professional and knowledgeable. They made having my 10 month old puppy undergoing life surgery a little easier as they walked me through everything step by step, answered any questions I had and sent me updates along the way. They were clear and punctual when checking in on her progress and they took such good care of her, that after 2 surgeries and almost a week of recovery time the veterinary clinic is still one of her favourite places to be. My puppy, Skye, and I were recommended the OzCorpK9 team from a coworker. We have both been really happy with the support and training we have received from the OzCorp team especially Shaun, our main trainer. We have initially completed the seven week program/course and found that the one-on-one sessions were pivotal to Skye’s training and overall development as a puppy. We will definitely be continuing in group classes and also some of the half-day training programs. Shaun has invaluable knowledge and provided me and Skye with lots of support taking into consideration her needs as an individual dog, with her own personality and specific needs. If you’re looking for professional, high-quality dog training we highly recommend OzCorpK9.

We began training with Ryan King 7 years ago and have been thrilled to witness the progress of Ozcorp K9 giving valuable education to dog owners that strengthen their communication and relationship. Seeing your dog mastering new skills and being fulfilled in their drives is so heartwarming. Exceptional Service and Great Deals at Seaview Aquarium!
I recently ordered a CO2 kit for my aquarium from Seaview Aquarium, and I have to say, I’m beyond impressed! Not only was the kit the best deal I could find anywhere online, but I was also amazed at how quickly it arrived. I placed my order and received it overnight — all the way from Adelaide to New South Wales!
The whole experience was seamless. The kit arrived in perfect condition, and I could tell the quality was top-notch. It’s rare to find such excellent service combined with unbeatable prices. I’ve been setting up my aquarium with confidence, thanks to Seaview Aquarium’s fantastic service and products.
I’ll definitely be shopping here again in the future and highly recommend them to anyone looking for aquarium supplies. Very, very pleased!

I found this little gem of a place whilst browsing through online reef aquarium forums that I frequent and I’m a member of.
I was particularly interested in purchasing live coral and although Seaview don’t offer live coral sales through their website I then reached out directly to the store where I found yet another gem…her name is Mariah!
Mariah went above and beyond to answer any questions I had about the available stock that I was interested in, whether it was about colour, size, genus, origin or price. Photos and videos of the stock were sent to me by her for confirmation, all the while, whilst serving customers in the shop at the same time, and let me tell you I was very impressed! There’s many coral to choose from, prices are very competitive and quality is A++++ regardless of your budget.
We compiled a shopping basket, a large one as it turned out, and it was so so easy to deal with someone that cares about her customers. Her knowledge and love for the industry was amazing, oh and the livestock is to die for!
I’ve never set foot in this store as I live in Sydney, but since dealing with Seaview I am going to plan a trip just to visit them, and maybe haul home more coral
If I was able to give 1000 ⭐️ I would, but google only allows 5…
Well done Seaview!!!

The best aquarium store in town for expertise and range. They have a three day return if your fish die unexpectedly, ask for conditions which are simple enough. They have gotten even better recently as they have expanded and now have new rooms for tanks, outdoor, marine, invertebrates, cold water & reptiles.

Dr. Andrew is a fantastic vet — he was incredibly patient with all our questions and took the time to explain everything clearly. He gave us thoughtful and helpful recommendations, and his kind, friendly manner made the whole experience feel very reassuring. Most importantly, he showed genuine care and affection toward my cat, which meant a lot to me. Has also been seeing Dr Claire who is an amazing vet as well! Highly recommend!

Dr Brooke has been incredibly helpful and supportive with our greyhound who is struggling with separation anxiety. She is his biggest advocate and is always extremely thorough but also takes time to explain things properly to us which we really appreciate. We are very grateful for all of her hard work and support

Dr. Andrew is very professional and considerable of our circumstances. He has saved our dog Koral twice now. The first time, when Koral had a very serious knee injury, Dr. Andrew very professionally assessed her conditions and came up with a solution for specialist treatment. The second time, when she had arthritis in that knee, he helped us to find the cheapest and most effective treatment. Now Koral is back to normal 🙂 Thanks Dr. Andrew!

I have entrusted Dr Spanner with the care of my two cats for the past three years and have been given very sound advice, especially in relation to their teeth and oral health (and their weight and how best to control it). He administers their vaccines without a flinch from them. I feel like he genuinely cares about their health and overall wellness and I am so happy to have found a trusted vet.

The team at Walkerville vet have been fantastic for helping to take care of Dudley and Roux over the last few years.
Dudley and Roux see Dr Andrew who is an exceptional veterinarian, and takes the time to explain things and why he is doing them. It’s refreshing to see a vet (and team) who you can very clearly see care for each of their patients. At times where we were unable to see Dr Andrew, all other veterinarians have also been wonderful and helped with what our pets needed.
We don’t hesitate to take our pets to Walkerville vet if we feel they need to see a vet, they are very transparent with their pricing and don’t force any choices upon you, instead providing you with all the options and their recommendations.
Thank you to all the staff at Walkerville vet, Dudley and Roux look forward to continuing be your patients to stay happy and healthy.

We hired I Do Paws for our wedding last December and had the best experience! Emily was an absolute pleasure to work with. very thorough with details, experienced, and always happy to answer any questions we had. That’s exactly the kind of service you want when trusting someone with your fur babies.
Paige was our carer on the day, and she was wonderful. We even had guests comment on how great she was with Captain and Flash! Paige walked the boys down the aisle, took them around to greet guests, and stayed overnight with them until we got home the next morning.
Thanks to Paige and Emily, we had a completely stress-free day knowing our boys were in the best hands. Highly recommend!

We used I Do Paws for our wedding day and had the lovely Ash look after our fur baby Wally.
Emily (the owner) was an absolute pleasure to deal with and her help in those early stages of planning was invaluable. Emily was so helpful with all of my questions and made the process so seamless and easy. For what could have been one of the most stressful parts of the wedding day, both Emily and Ash made it worry free!
Ash was absolutely incredible! She was so wonderful with Wally and kept him entertained and busy during the boring parts of the ceremony. She sent us the most beautiful photos of Wally waiting at the end of the aisle for his big moment. These had us tearing up!! Ash made us feel so at ease throughout the whole process and took such wonderful care of our fur baby! We would recommend her to anyone and everyone!!

Surely these photos speak for themselves?? Having our sweet adopted rescue pup as part of our wedding day was so important to us, we actually booked with Emily and saved our date before we had adopted a dog at all!
We went to university with the owner Emily and have loved watching this business bloom, so were a little biased when it came to choosing who to book for our day. We met team member Bri who was an absolute delight during our meet and greet, and we trusted her with our girl completely. In the day she picked her up, kept her safe, transported her around, and worked with us during the ceremony. Our dog has separation anxiety so we knew it wasn’t going to be completely smooth sailing, but Bri was absolutely perfect for the plan to “wing it” and on the day everything turned out perfect. She even got her home safely and in the crate with dinner for when nanny and poppy came home after the reception.
Thank you I Do Paws for helping ensure our fur baby could safely be part of our special day.

A huge thank you to Emily from Idopaws for taking such wonderful care of our beagles, Betty and Nancy, on our wedding day. Having them with us was incredibly important to me, as they are such a cherished part of our family, and knowing they were in such capable hands gave me peace of mind. As a dog mum who didn’t even know this kind of service existed, I am so grateful to have found Emily and Idopaws! We had a lovely meet and greet with Emily before the big day, and the girls made themselves right at home—attempting to claim a spot on her lap as we discussed all things wedding. From that moment, I knew they were going to be in great hands. Emily took care of them from pick-up to safe drop-off at home, and we couldn’t be more appreciative. Thank you again, Emily, for making our special day even more perfect!

Cannot reccomend I Do Paws enough if you have a furry family member you want to come to your wedding.
Torianne was the best chaperone for our cavoodle Crumpet on the day of our wedding. Being a vet nurse myself i wanted to make sure our cavoodle was in the best of hands and with Torianne i had no doubts .You could tell Crumpet was so comfortable and relaxed with Torianne which made it so easy for us to relax and enjoy our day without worrying about how our little fluffy man was going. They were fantastic at communicating with us before and on the day and so great with Crumpet, you could tell he was so at ease . Torianne also helped him to be the best ring bearer ever .
we really appreciate I do paws and would reccomend to anyone getting married with a fur family

I Do Paws was instrumental in involving our precious fur baby Peach on our wedding day. They were so wonderful to work with – from our first phone consult, first meeting and on the day, there was no request too big of an ask and Aimee was incredible with Peach – she was so well behaved and we were amazed!!
Mendel and I cannot thank the team enough for this incredible experience, it meant the world to us to have Peach there with us on our special day. Maryanne was also fantastic with puppy sitting for our honeymoon – we felt such at ease throughout our trip

I Do Paws was the perfect addition to our wedding day. We initially spoke with Emily throughout the booking process who was so lovely and helpful and then our dog Koda had the fortunate honour of having Brianna as his date. Not only was she absolutely wonderful with Koda, she also went above and beyond for us on our wedding day. Brianna was so incredibly kind and we loved her! This company is incredible as they made time for a meet a greet so Koda wasn’t with a stranger on our day. Initially we were iffy about bringing Koda as we weren’t sure how he’d go (as he can get quite excited) but Brianna was absolutely amazing and kept him cool calm and under control. Brianna also took some incredible photos of Koda on our day and we are so appreciative. She made our day unforgettable and we can’t recommend I Do Paws highly enough. You will not regret it!

Frequently Asked Questions about Pets in Adelaide
What are the general rules for owning a dog in Adelaide?
Owning a dog in Adelaide comes with certain responsibilities and regulations. All dogs must be registered with the local council, and owners are required to keep their dogs under control at all times, preferably on a leash. There are also restrictions on the number of dogs allowed per household, which varies by local council. Adhering to these rules ensures the safety and wellbeing of both pets and the community.
Are there specific areas where dogs are not allowed?
Yes, there are several areas where dogs are restricted or prohibited in Adelaide. These typically include playgrounds, childcare centers, and certain conservation areas. Councils often provide designated dog-friendly parks and off-leash areas, which are clearly signposted. Checking with the local council is crucial before taking your dog to a public space to avoid fines or infringements.
What are the requirements for desexing pets in Adelaide?
Many local councils in Adelaide have mandatory desexing policies for dogs and cats. This helps control the animal population and reduces the number of unwanted pets. If you’re not planning to breed from your pet, desexing is strongly recommended, and the council may enforce penalties for failure to comply with the regulations. It's a procedure with significant benefits for the animal's health as well.
How do I register my pet with the local council?
Pet registration is a straightforward process. You typically need to provide proof of ownership, such as a purchase receipt or adoption papers, and provide details about your pet, including its breed, age, and microchip number. Most councils offer online registration options, or you can visit a council office to complete the process. Microchipping is a legal requirement for all dogs and cats.
What are the rules regarding cats roaming freely?
While dogs are generally required to be kept under control, the rules for cats roaming freely are less stringent, but still require consideration. Owners are responsible for preventing their cats from causing a nuisance to neighbors, which includes damage to property or disturbing the peace. Some councils are considering stricter regulations due to concerns about native wildlife.
What should I do if my pet goes missing?
If your pet goes missing, immediate action is crucial. First, contact your local council and report the missing pet. Then, notify animal shelters and veterinary clinics in the area. Posting notices and online advertisements with a clear description and contact information can also greatly increase the chances of a reunion. Ensure your pet is microchipped and that the details are up to date.
Are there any restrictions on owning exotic pets in Adelaide?
Owning exotic pets in Adelaide is subject to strict regulations. Certain species are completely prohibited due to concerns about environmental impact, public safety, and animal welfare. Permits are often required for other species, and these are assessed on a case-by-case basis, considering factors such as housing requirements and the owner’s experience. Check with the relevant authorities before acquiring any non-domesticated animal.
What are the quarantine requirements for bringing a pet into South Australia?
Bringing a pet into South Australia involves several quarantine requirements to prevent the introduction of diseases. Dogs, cats, and other animals often require pre-import vaccinations and health certificates. A period of quarantine may be necessary, depending on the animal's origin. Plan well in advance as the process can be lengthy and complex. Contact the Department of Primary Industries and Water for detailed information.
What are the responsibilities of pet owners regarding noise complaints?
Pet owners are responsible for preventing their pets from causing excessive noise disturbances that impact neighbors. Excessive barking or howling can lead to noise complaints and potential fines. Providing adequate exercise and enrichment for your pet can help reduce anxiety and prevent unwanted vocalizations. Being a considerate neighbor is vital for harmonious community living.
Are there support services available for pet owners facing financial difficulties?
Yes, several organizations provide support services for pet owners facing financial difficulties. These services may include low-cost veterinary care, pet food assistance, and temporary boarding options. Contacting local animal welfare groups and councils can help connect you with these vital resources ensuring that your pet’s wellbeing is protected.
