I have used Walter’s services a month ago and it was worth it.
I needed a “Permiso de salir de Colombia” which is a requirement for the minors to go out from Colombia if they are not accompanied by both parents. The Colombian consulate can do the procedure for a cheaper price but it is very busy (it is difficult to book a appointment) and it is needed to go to Canberra for it.
Walter was very helpfull with the process, which is quite exhausting if you are not use to heavy administrative procedures.
Also he is known for his good work by the australian foreign affairs department (nearby) which speed up the apostille part of the procedure.

I engaged Christina Fung (Adelta Legal) to assist me with a complex property Lease Contract which I was about to enter into. To keep myself informed and financially safe, the significance of comprehending the terms and conditions was paramount. These complex Contracts may contain terms which can go unnoticed or not be fully understood without engaging legal advice and expertise. I strongly recommend making this financial investment from the onset. In doing so, there would be no nasty surprises in the future and I could also advise my children of these terms, so they were fully aware of this legally binding document and consequently what I had consented to.

How you do anything in this world is how you do everything and if that is how they deal with people on a first contact basis. I can only imagine and guess as to how they do business.

I had a disappointing experience with one of the firm’s legal team members, Ms. Wang. Although the Notaries’ society website listed her mobile number, she expressed offense when I contacted her through it and advised me to seek help elsewhere. While I’ve heard positive things about the firm, my experience with Ms. Wang was unsatisfactory, and I won’t be returning.

I worked with Tom Hendrick on several legal matters in regards to my business. Last week, I had the pleasure of consulting with Van at Cleartax Tax Accountant. Her expertise in company tax and family trusts, coupled with her approachable and knowledgeable demeanor, provided a highly positive experience. I extend my sincere gratitude to Van.

I am a dentist practising in Adelaide and came to ClearTax to see Van for guidance regarding quarterly BAS and Tax returns. Unfortunately my experience was quite poor and I cannot recommend the services of ClearTax in Adelaide.

To start with, during the session, Van gave clearly wrong information regarding the GST code. Normally dental and medical services provided by a sole trader practitioner are exempt from GST taxes, and most accountants will be able to tell you this immediately. Instead for 30 minutes I had to convince Van that this was the case, and it ended up being a session that felt like I was educating her on the basics of GST for healthcare professionals instead of the other way around. Following her advice I would be overpaying an extra 10% of my income to GST, and even I could immediately tell this was a grossly negligent error. In addition, even on standard pay structures for sole trader healthcare professionals, her understanding was shakier than my own rudimentary knowledge. Only in future meetings with other accountants did I realize how misinformed her counsel to me was.

To add Insult to injury, I was charged a $132 fee just for an initial 1 hour consultation. I have consulted with other accountants before, and recently, and have received much more clarity and information in sessions that are completely free, and am only charged during appointments to consolidate BAS or Tax Returns. While I would normally not mind paying for time spent (an accountants time is very valuable), when I receive incompetent counsel and misinformation, and probably know more about the pay structure compared to the accountant, it feels like I am just paying to waste my time.

Despite my overall negative review, Van herself was a warm, polite and friendly individual. I attended 20 minutes late to the appointment as I misread the time and she was still willing to accommodate a full session with me. For this I am extremely grateful.

Overall, I feel Van may be suitable for customers who are not from a sole trader health professional background, but if you are a doctor or dentist or other allied health professional, I will unfortunately have to advise you to stay away. There are many good accountants in Adelaide that will be able to help you navigate the sometimes difficult sole trader financial environment, and ultimately accurate information and good guidance is what we are paying for.

Contacted to complete work on a property matter. Spoke with Peter who sounded professional and knowledgeable. He asked me to provide dot points which I duly emailed through. No response for a week. On calling back to follow up he advised my email had gone through to spam. He sent an acknowledgement email and advised he would email further the following week. No email received. Contacted and left a message. No call returned and when I called again phone wasn’t picked up. I have now wasted two weeks when I could have and should have made enquiries at other firms. I don’t understand why firms (legal or otherwise) do not simply advise from the outset that they are unable to take on the work instead of wasting the time and efforts of would be clients. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

Not impressed at all. Used them as my Selling Agent recommended them. Found them to be impersonal, lack of friendliness and care. Sure they did the job but that is what I paid. Messed up the discharge documents. No apology just a cc when they sent the correct ones. No settlement statement sent to me before settlement to check. No calls to let me know what was happening. Received a call from my Selling Agent saying, “Congratulations, settlement went through.”
I said, “What… I am waiting to receive a settlement statement to check.” He said, “No it’s done.”
Poor form from this Company. Communication is wrong. I won’t use them again.

Sadly not impressed, everything is at snail pace, even after supplying every document under the sun and more regarding a dearest deceased family member. Accounts department shocking as to date we asked for 2 itemised invoices and all we get = CRICKETS, under SA Law we are entitled to receive itemised invoices.

We also did not get a receipt after the first payment we made, we then had to ask for it and no doubt it would have cost us money asking the lawyer for a receipt.

As a first-time unit purchaser, working with Yuliya from Norman Waterhouse made what could have been a daunting process much more manageable. Right from the start, Yuliya demonstrated professionalism, deep knowledge, and genuine care for ensuring that I understood each legal step.

What stood out most was her clarity in communication—she explained all the contractual terms, strata title details, settlement paperwork and legal obligations without assuming prior experience. Whenever I had questions (which was often), she responded promptly, patiently, and in a way that made sense. Her attention to detail meant nothing was overlooked; from checking compliance issues to ensuring paperwork was lodged correctly, she handled everything thoroughly.

I also appreciated how she kept me informed throughout: when certain documents were delayed, when council approvals were needed, and what my responsibilities were at each stage. That transparency reduced a lot of anxiety for me as a first home buyer.

On the cost side, I felt that the fees were reasonable for the level of service and expertise provided. There were no surprises, and any potential costs or legal hurdles were disclosed up front.

Overall, Yuliya provided a calm, solutions-oriented conveyancing service. She helped the process move smoothly, and I felt confident that I was in good hands. I would highly recommend her to anyone purchasing property — especially first home buyers who benefit from someone who guides and reassures every step of the way.

Front of house staff at Norman Waterhouse were terrific, but unfortunately the solicitor, only called to say he was not interested and did not offer an alternative within NW and then hung up. Poor communication skills.

Very underwhelmed with the service, or lack of to date.

I had previously dealt with one of Carpenter’s lawyers. He was with another firm. I found he had conspired and colluded with other lawyers/law firms (like Leventis Lawyers, McDonough Cole Legal, Graeme Arnold Costs) in the perpetration of fraud in a Wills and Estates matter. Same lawyer dishonestly dealt with documents and should be jailed like the others. I could never recommend a firm who employs someone who acts so dishonestly. I would avoid like the plague. So should you.

After reading the other reviews I was disappointed with my experience. Documents were not delivered as promised, and there was poor communication with one email unanswered and 2 phone calls necessary to find out what was going on.

Not only did I achieve my outcome, but it was achieved in a manner that was completely supportive, personal, and done with the highest level of transparency, integrity, knowledge, perseverance and skill.
