Disappointed by the lack of empathy and support. I called Maurice Blackburn hoping to speak with a lawyer in Adelaide about a very personal matter. Instead, I was routed to a Melbourne-based receptionist who insisted I answer a set of scripted questions before I could even be considered to speak with someone local. When I explained that I wasn’t comfortable disclosing sensitive details to someone who wasn’t legally qualified, she made no effort to support me or offer an alternative. I was told I could call back if I was willing to go through the process — no empathy, no understanding, just a dead end. It felt like a cold, bureaucratic system — not what you’d expect from a firm that claims to support people through difficult situations. I walked away feeling more dismissed than helped.
