We had a great experience at Kiin Restaurant! Dine in a few times. The food was absolutely delicious.. fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was stylish yet relaxed, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout. A perfect spot for a formal/casual lunch or a special dinner. Highly recommend and would definitely return.
- Great food, that has unique flavours. Decent portion size but a bit small for the price. - Lots of seating available with a cozy atmosphere. - Service is immaculate, shoutout to SJ for your warm hospitality. You made our night more enjoyable!
An Unforgettable Explosion of Flavour & Hospitality My husband and I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at this hidden gem, and what an experience it was! We sat at the bar not expecting the experience we were going to have. To say the food is Thai-inspired and full of flavour would be an understatement — every dish delivered an unforgettable bomb of taste that lingered long after the meal ended. Each bite was a perfect balance of freshness, spice, and depth. My husband and I love food and would have to say, Kiin definitely makes you feel you are in Thailand, not Adelaide. The kitchen had a calm, composed energy that was a joy to watch — true chef culture in action. There was no stress, just passion and precision. The wait staff were incredible — welcoming, warm, and genuinely helpful in guiding us through the menu. They encouraged us to try new things, which made the experience feel like an adventure rather than just a dinner. A special shoutout to Darren at the bar, who made our night even more memorable with his generosity and enthusiasm, offering us a few taste tests of cocktails (which were amazing!). Our waitress was equally impressive — knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about both the food and the drinks. We left feeling completely satisfied, cared for, and already planning our next visit. This place is a must for anyone who appreciates flavour-forward cuisine, exceptional service, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Thank you for an incredible evening!
Every single thing we ate here was amazing. I don't say that lightly, Thai food is my favourite cuisine and I was so happy (and full!) at the end of the meal. Service was excellent, accommodating us when I asked for another serve of something before our mains came out and prompt on drink service. Highly recommend and will be back. *Also the added addition of Anthony Bourdain playing in the toilets was a funny and welcome surprise.
Had dinner here tonight as per a very good friend’s recommendation. If we talk solely about the food - it is innovative and mostly tasted really good (i.e. buratta and roti). Definitely would recommend to do a degustation rather than ala carté - as the pricing is way above midpoint price. A single piece of an arancinni is $8! It is tad too expensive for such restaurant with such casual atmosphere. In saying that, I gave Food a 4 because there was a missed opportunity to appreciate the other flavours in the dishes due to the build up of spiciness of the dishes (which may be due to the sequencing of the degustation). It felt like it was almost masking the taste. I do acknowledge that Thai food is spicy, but surely it is not the only single flavour which made it among global cuisine favourites. They should take it down a notch, really. But other than the price and level of spiciness, this fusion restaurant offers an interesting version of Thai cuisine. Atmosphere is good, too. Be mindful though that the tables are squished and close to each other. Service - where do I start? Upon arriving, did not expect anything really. Nothing special, front of the house was very transactional - I did not feel any attempt to establish rapport with patrons. The guy named Thor was knowledgeable, he was good actually and made conversation with the entire table. The rest of the staff was just, I dunno, not really present in the moment. Then came this tattoed guy who collected the plates and simply said somewhere along the line of "just an fyi, i will be bringing the bill as the next guests will be arriving, ok?" I guess it is how business works, transactional. Nothing wrong with that, though not what you expect from a restaurant. That was truly a lowlight - a bit imposing. The service was rushed - not the level of service you expect especially when you just spend half a grand. I guess it’s the 2-hour booking policy hence the rush but for an 8-course feed-me menu - it’s too rushed. We settled the bill and off we went. The front of the house did not say anything, no thank yous. They saw us leaving but, nothing. We did not feel the service level this restaurant takes pride of. Food is a must-try but the service made us not to rush back here again.
The cheeseburgers were so phenomemal. We ordered another round of these amazing little things. The Buratta and roti was extraordinary. The squid skewers were okay. But goodness gracious, those cheeseburgers. Staff were incredible and the atmosphere was wonderful. Cocktails are cheaper before 6pm. The actual venue itself is really pretty.
Quite disappointed about food. Everything tastes same, "Tom yum style", very salty, sour and spicy. Thai food should also have peanut butter and sweet to balance sour and salt, but I could not find them in the food. I had to have lots of steam rice to soften the salt and sour. Unfortunately, the rice is not cooked in Asian way, but hardcore. The waiter forgot one dish I ordered, but I feel so lucky and didn’t remind him as I don’t want to suffer again. The only good thing is the wine I had. However,I sadly found that it doesn’t pare with the food I ate.
