O&G

6.4

My understanding is that O&G appears to struggle significantly with patient communication and support. Reports consistently suggest a lack of empathy and a dismissive attitude towards individuals seeking medical assistance, particularly those dealing with sensitive or distressing situations. The absence of readily accessible care and direct lines of communication with practitioners raises serious concerns about the quality and timeliness of the assistance offered.

It's troubling to hear about a systemic failure to provide a reassuring and compassionate environment. A reputable medical practice should prioritize clear communication and actively listen to patient concerns. The lack of these fundamentals and a perceived lack of accountability point towards a need for significant operational improvements and a renewed focus on patient-centered care. It is essential that the practice addresses these failings to restore trust and ensure the well-being of those under their care through better training.

This practice demonstrates a completely poor standard of professionalism, with a clear lack of genuine care for patients. They have no idea how to handle people presenting with delicate and distressing issues. It doesn’t matter how skilled a doctor may be if the practice staff are negligent, dismissive, and incapable of providing proper support. The way patients are spoken to and treated here leaves them feeling ignored and unsafe. For anyone considering this clinic — I would strongly caution you to look elsewhere for care that is respectful, compassionate, and competent.

I’ve had multiple friends attend this practice and every single one has had a terrible experience. They were already dealing with troubling and distressing situations, which were only made worse by the poor protocol, lack of support, and dismissive attitude from the staff. A medical practice should provide reassurance, compassion, and clear communication — this one does the opposite. Patients are left more anxious, more confused, and in some cases at risk of harm because of the way things are handled. This is not safe, professional, or patient-centred care. I would strongly advise avoiding this practice.I’m

This place is completely negligent and could not care less about their patients. I attended this practice and after having a horrendous pregnancy related issue was seeking advice from my obstetrician. I called the clinic for advice and they refused to let me speak directly to her - instead I could only convey my many questions through one of their incompetent midwives, who did not take the time to convey any of my history to the doctor. This also took 10+ phone calls to resolve - which left me feeling stressed and anxious at a time when I was already devastated. The outcome was that I was left with incorrect information that almost resulted in me having an emergency surgery that I never needed in the first place. To top things off - their midwife Karen called me and told me that I "needed to be proactive about my own health" - this statement is vile when someone has already been through a difficult time, and completely and utterly useless given that I had call their clinic over 5 times to seek advice about the issue. I received absolutely zero support from the obstetrician who never so much as bothered to call me about the outcome. They also told me to "go to the WCH" if there was a problem - but then what is the point of private care if I'm just supposed to present to WCH for all my issues? To make matters worse, a friend of mine was referred there for abnormal bleeding. After making her do a variety of tests including an US scan - they said they would call her with an appointment time. She waited over a week for a phone call only to be told that they are "too busy to see her" and to "find another doctor". If that was the case they should never have taken the referral and should have redirected her immediately. If they had been upfront from the beginning, she would've booked elsewhere from the beginning. They have now resulted in a long delay of her seeing a specialist and therefore delaying potentially urgent treatment - this is actively putting people at risk of harm. These doctors do not seem to have a model of care that focuses on women and their wellbeing at all, they only seem to focus on financial incentives. The care provided is not only substandard, but also not holistic in any way, shape or form. So disappointing especially from a female dominated practice. I urge everyone to steer clear from this practice.

I have referred many friends to this clinic. The staff here take on all considerations and Dr Denton is by far the best gyno I have seen. Dr Denton takes all information, is thorough and discusses all concerns without judgement and tries to find alternatives for all care if you're feeling unsure. She discusses things in a language that is easily understood, and allows time for any questions making you feel in control of your own body. I felt listened to and heard when discussing my lived experience which made me feel safe and understood. The reception staff are kind and always greet with a smile which makes for a comfortable experience. I highly recommend this practice!

Dr Sally Reid was amazing, she is kind and caring and made me feel heard. She offered solutions to my concerns and education around the process. I am excited to have some answers and grateful for the time Dr Sally took to really listen. I highly recommend the services of Dr Sally and her lovely team.

My wife got admitted for a post op complication after hysterectomy by dr Webber at Calvary North Adelaide couple of years ago. Dr Webber, her primary surgeon was away hence she was to be looked after by dr Woolcock . My wife had severe abdominal pain while in hospital during her second admission. We requested dr Woolcock to review her but she refused to come and see my wife despite we both being medicos and we both were worried. I must say it was very poor and unprofessional response from Dr Woolcock. Do not recommend anyone to see them.

I had trouble getting a diagnosis and was recommended to see someone in this clinic. I have been told they are all awesome! My referral got sent to them almost immediately by my GP along side with the latest blood test and ultrasound results. First call, they said the doctor will review the referral then they will call me to let me know with an appointment date. Second call, they tell me the doctor thinks I may need a surgery and this will cost me 8-12k because I don't have private insurance. They suggested I go to a public hospital! I said okay and hanged up instead of saying "I am prepared to pay fully for all the consultation and surgery. I refuse to pay for private insurance for personal reasons." This attitude is wrong in so many levels. You don't give your patience a chance to even see a doctor. You could at least say "You have options. Our waitlist is 4 months and you will be paying this much for the consultation or we could ask your GP to send a referral to the public hospital. It will still be a waitlist but it's free. What do you think?" But nope... I am frustrated, felt unheard and stressed. I have been dealing with these symptoms for so long and was so excited to see someone in this clinic as the recommendation I got gave me some hope. Since you see me as a business not as a patient it's only fair to say that you lost my business.
