I have found the Women’s Health Plus practice to be excellent. The reception ladies are polite, thoughtful and kind in their interactions both over the phone and in person.
The waiting area is nicely decorated and filled with natural light, parking is easily found both at the rear of the practice and even on street, a nice experience from start to the finish of an appointment.
Dr Wasan is very thorough, takes her time both in listening and asking questions, I never feel that I am rushed in the appointment and I am extremely happy with my choice to attend this practice.
Lovely doctors, staff and welcoming environment.

I had my initial consultation with Dr Fariba Behnia-Willison this morning, she had been recommended to me by a friend who was experiencing similar symptoms. I have not had the best experiences with gynaecologists in the past, so I was a bit apprehensive about seeing another specialist. However, Dr Fariba was very warm and welcoming, and I felt like she really listened to my concerns. I felt very comfortable with her and she was able to provide me with a treatment plan that most other gynaecologist are not able to offer. She treated me using platelet rich plasma injections, which is something she specialises in and is one of the reasons I wanted to see her. I finally feel like I’m on the right treatment path and I cannot recommend Dr Fariba and FBW gynaecology Plus more.

I would like to sincerely express my appreciation to Dr. Alexandra Carey and the entire clinic. I have been dealing with pain for most of my life, and they were able to diagnose me with endometriosis, adenomyosis, and another condition. I am scheduled for surgery in a week. After experiencing constant pain for five weeks, I required urgent surgery, and the team listened to me with great professionalism. This is the first time a doctor has truly understood my struggles and provided the help I needed. I am deeply grateful. Thank you all for being a lifesaver.

I am currently undergoing IVF with Dr. Tran at FBW Gynaecology Plus and have had an exceptional experience. DO NOT SEE THIS DR!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would!

I first went to Dr Fariba when I was referred to her by my GP, at the time I was excited to finally start the journey of what was causing my pain and other symptoms. First appointment should have been the last, I walked in there told her my symptoms and what had been going on and she straightaway told me surgery was needed, but I told her that I had to wait for my insurance to roll over (unfortunately they deemed my condition pre existing) but I wanted some pain management to help in the meantime. She told me to come back in a year to book the surgery and sent me off with a gluten free, dairy free, sugar free, red meat free diet as “pain management” and was offered nothing else.

I came back a year later when my insurance rolled over so I could book the surgery. She wanted and kept pushing me to put the Marina in despite me continuously telling her I did not want it. She still sent me off with a script for one but I booked my surgery in. I ended up calling the reception staff asking them to tell Dr Fariba that I was set on not wanting the marina. Dr Fariba then called me back to ask why I didn’t want it and tried to push a bit more but I stuck my ground and said no and she finally agreed.

Fast forward to surgery day, I got into the operating room and was on the bed waiting to be put under. The lovely team were chatting to me to help with my nerves, but then Dr Fariba came over and communicated what was being done where she told me she was putting in the marina despite me constantly telling her no. She had gone out her way to get one for my surgery despite telling her no and decided she was going to do it anyway essentially. I was starting to be put under and was already feeling extremely overwhelmed so I gave in whilst I was falling asleep and she put it in.

Her bed side manner was crap, she came in the next morning to tell me all went well, that they found a tiny bit of what she assumed was endo but didn’t know if it was enough to even be considered as stage 1. Due to gas pains and past health history I presented to ED at RAH a week later where I found out through their nurses I did NOT have endo and found nothing during my surgery.

I ended up having my 6 week post op appointment where she was an hour late, no apology or explanation given for why. I walked in there, sat down, where she told me I did not have endo. She didn’t show me the photos from the surgery and I received no other explanation or care plan (as at this stage my pain was getting progressively worse and ended me up in hospital 10days post op for 5 days). I told her I wanted the marina out and she agreed so we booked another appointment to remove it. She sent me off and told me to go back on that diet. My appointment was 2 minutes long and I still had to pay for it.

My pain progressively got worse over the 1-3 months post op, and I knew something was wrong so I saw Dr Ray Yoong for a second opinion who offered me a pain and care plan until I was able to get into surgery. I had surgery 2 weeks ago and found out I actually have stage 4 endo, my bowels were fused to my uterus, endo covering my rectum and I have possible nerve damage from Dr Faribas surgery so he did a Pudendal nerve block and he removed my marina as Dr Fariba had cut the string too short so it had to be removed during surgery. They also found non-endo tissue which has been sent off for testing. I am yet to have my 2 week post op appointment at the time of writing this so I don’t know the full extent of what was found.

If Dr Fariba had just listened to me and looked further in my pelvis and other organs all of this could have been avoided. I wouldn’t have spent thousands of dollars on surgeries or been stuck bed ridden for 2-3 weeks unable to move. DO NOT go to Dr Fariba unless you want to be left butchered and worse off

I can’t fault the team at Adelaide Obs. From the warm and welcoming reception staff to the compassionate fertility nurses, and especially Dr. Simona Fischer, every interaction has been marked by genuine care and professionalism.
We’ve been trying for baby number two (my wife carried our first), and from the very beginning, Dr. Fischer created a tailored plan to give us the best possible chance. When things didn’t go as expected, she was quick to pivot — always solutions-oriented, supportive, and proactive.
Dr. Fischer has also been by our side through multiple surgical procedures, for both myself and my wife. One small but incredibly meaningful gesture stands out: she holds your hand just before the anaesthetic. That moment of connection brings a real sense of calm and comfort when it’s needed most.

Her bedside manner is refreshingly down-to-earth. She brings lightness to what is often an overwhelming and clinical process. In a space like fertility, where emotions can run high and things can feel very medical, her sense of humour and humanity make a huge difference.
Most importantly, it’s clear that Dr. Fischer is completely patient-focused. Her care is authentic, and that’s something we deeply value.

When my wife went into labour and required an emergency C-section in the middle of the night and our usual OB was out of the country, it was Dr Simona who revealed her Superwoman suit and came flying down Anzac Highway (well within the speed limit of course) to bring our daughter into the world.
We had never met Dr Simona before, and due to the circumstances of the C-section we were already rattled when she came in, but she very quickly settled our nerves as best as possible with confident reassurance and witty compassion that was way too sharp for 3am on a Saturday morning!
Our daughter was ultimately delivered without complication (side note, she is grounded until she’s 21 for worrying us like she did) and my wife was in the recovery ward almost as quick as she was sent to theatre in the first place.
She came to visit us again later in the day to check up on mum and baby, and although that was the last time we have seen her, she has played a crucial role in the birth of our daughter and we will never, ever forget her.

I have now been seeing Dr Zhang for approx 10 years and couldn’t speak high enough of her. Undergoing three surgeries over this time, I’ve been lucky enough to experience her time and care prior, during and after surgeries. She is always on call to ensure your recovery is tracking as it should be and there for any concerns/questions you may have. She genuinely cares which makes stressful circumstances a lot easier to approach and manage. Dr Zhang’s nurturing approach and guidance does not go unnoticed and is truly appreciated.

I could tell that Dr Zhang had reviewed my file thoroughly before my appointment and was able to get straight to discussing my options. (I feel this is important for the cost of specialists). We chose surgey as my next course of action. She had hospital admission forms available and her staff have managed most of the paperwork submission. We also covered pain management, diet and exercise requirements needed to manage the condition ongoing. Dr Zhang is the third gynaecologist I’ve visited. I was referred by my previous gyno because my condition is complex and requires an advanced surgeon. I feel that she is respected by others in her field and I was very comfortable in her presence.

Stop reading this review, just dial the number and make the appointment.

Dr Carmel and the team were extremely helpful throughout the entire process. Especially when you are a first-time parent, and you dont know what’s going on they will guide you every step of the way.

This became even more evident on the day of the birth of the baby. Since I was inside the Operating theater I witnessed firsthand how caring Dr. Carmel was and helped my wife navigate the unknown. I’m very grateful for Dr. Carmel and the experienced midwifery team at Her Health.

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Araz for the exceptional care and support provided throughout our journey to welcome our baby Airlie into the world. Enquired last week after C.O.B and received a call early to mid-morning the next day from Penny. Even though I asked tens of questions, nothing was too troublesome for her.

I had more queries and Penny happened to answer again. Great service again, you can hear her smiling through the phone. Her warm approach to admin duties is refreshing and appreciated. I can imagine women going through a tough time would appreciate this level of care too.

Looking forward to working with the rest of the team.

Dr Casie Staehr has been incredible as my OBGYN for management of endometriosis as well as my two pregnancies (of which one was high risk and needed additional care and monitoring). I wouldn’t want to see anyone else. Couldn’t recommend Dr. Casie highly enough.

I cannot fault the care I received during my pregnancy and the birth of my son in April 2022. Dr Casie is the most wonderful, warm and competent OB that I could have asked for.
She made sure we were informed, considered and felt comfortable the entire time.
I had a planned c section just before Easter and it wasn’t supposed to be till the day after the long weekend, but I was having false labor pains for days, and she pulled out all the stops so I had options. She and her lovely partner, went out of their way to combine forces to deliver our son the Thursday night before Easter & it wound up being such a beautiful birth experience.
The entire team at Her were just so lovely, and this was at a time when Covid restrictions were at their highest and things were incredibly challenging. They did such an incredible job.
My son is nearly 16 months old now and I am still thankful everyday for how my pregnancy was managed and the delivery experience I had.

I would recommend Casie and the Her team to anyone!

Hannah Turner

Couldn’t recommend avoiding this Dr enough.
If she put half the effort into listening to patients as she did making political statements on her nail art, she’d possibly make a good dr.
I went to her for excessive bleeding & pain from endometriosis. She coerced me into getting a mirena for a second time despite issues which I mentioned which were ignored. When inevitably the same pain issues occurred immediately after the procedure she refused to see me until hours later where she said she would not speak to me while I was crying and forced me to sit up from laying down in pain. She spoke to me like a child and was extremely condescending.
I had decided to not go back as the way she conducted herself was just pitiful. However, was repeatedly phoned to attend a follow up appt. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt that perhaps she had an off day and wasn’t actually that tragically bad at her job.
I then returned with severe pain a few months later which she dismissed, repeatedly told me to (despite previously telling me I’d need IVF to conceive) ‘just get pregnant’, ‘change you’re timeline and get pregnant now’ and ‘you won’t have pain if you’re pregnant’. Completely wrong as it was gallstones and last I checked, pregnancy is not a cure for this. She then phoned me apologising for missing the gallstones and saying she should have looked more comprehensively and would phone again to check in on me after the surgery. She never did.
I then came back with pelvic pain that was different to any endo pain I’ve experienced and was told to take a pill that is approx $150 per month. I have trialed this medication in injection form before (from her recommendation) which did not work. Once I explained that $150 per month was not financially viable, she kept insisting and telling me to just stop taking any other prescription meds I have to save money so I can pay for this drug. I found this to be wildly inappropriate and irresponsible.
She continued to ignore anything I said during the appointment about the pain and insisted it was ‘just ovulation’, despite telling me at the prior appointment that I have no cycles. She continued to make contradictory comments including that surgery wouldn’t help but then suggested getting a referral elsewhere for surgery and I then realised that she really just didn’t have a clue and rather than being honest, she tried to pretend she knew but just made a fool of herself.
She then continued to dismiss how severe the pain was and what an impact on my life it had and said to get a third scan in a months time and gave me a script for the medication I repeatedly said was unaffordable while insisting that she ‘didn’t have a financial stake in this drug’ which was just bizarre.
After giving me no actual help or viable options, dr nisenblat took my previous imaging reports and got up to leave (without concluding the appointment) and I had to demand my own reports back as I’d need them to see someone more competent. She then said if I didn’t want the script to put it in the trash which I did and couldn’t believe I’d wasted so much time trying to get help with this dr who could see herself how useless her recommendation was. It seems that she has a ‘one size fits most’ approach and her brain can’t comprehend when it doesn’t suit.
I have since been to the hospital for this severe pain (surprise, it wasn’t ovulation) and through a clerical error, dr nisenblat was phoned to alert her to my situation where I was informed she refused to do anything which realistically doesn’t matter as I am not looking to be under her care but emphasises her incompetence, laziness and overall inability to appropriately manage the issues she claims to have a special interest in.
Save your money and time and avoid this dr unless you want to be given unaffordable medications (which you’ve already tried) and continually nagged to get pregnant as a form of ‘up-selling’ her fertility services. Truly never met a dr who needs to go outside and touch some grass more!

Dr. Fariba is so professional and absolutely amazing all round at what she does, from my very first appointment there’s no bullshit just honest professional advice and great bed side care when on theatre she made me feel very calm and safe, held my hand a reassured me the whole time ( like taking on the mum role ) while in such a vulnerable position. I was so nervous about surgery and she made it such a positive experience. Thank you

I very rarely write negative reviews, but I feel it is my duty to share my experience so that other women know before booking with this gynecologist. Unfortunately, my visit was extremely disappointing, stressful, and left me with the feeling that I was treated without care or attention.

I waited more than 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, and nobody explained the reason for the delay or offered an apology. When I was finally called in, the doctor appeared rushed, distracted, and completely uninterested in my concerns. I left with the impression that my health was not taken seriously at all.

During the examination, I felt extremely uncomfortable. The doctor did not explain what would be done and made no attempt to reassure me. Everything was done quickly, roughly, and without professionalism. For many women, visiting a gynecologist is already an emotionally vulnerable experience, and the lack of compassion only made it worse.

What was even more concerning is that the doctor did not give me any time to ask questions. She simply walked out of the room and began seeing another patient. When I asked at the reception why she behaved this way, why she saw another patient, and why she did not properly finish my appointment, the receptionist just said, “I don’t know what to tell you.” The nurse, who had been present during the one-minute examination, simply ignored me, turned away, and disappeared.

Medicine, especially gynecology, requires not only knowledge and experience but also humanity, patience, and the ability to create a sense of safety and respect. Unfortunately, this doctor demonstrated a complete lack of these qualities. I left the appointment in worse condition than I came: confused, anxious, and with the feeling that I had nowhere to turn for proper care.

I cannot recommend this gynecologist to anyone. I sincerely hope that this review will push the doctor to reconsider her attitude toward patients, her communication style, and her level of professionalism. Women deserve more. We deserve doctors who listen, respect our concerns, and make us feel safe. Sadly, here it was the exact opposite.

I honestly do not know what I paid $320 for. She was supposed to perform a procedure at my next appointment, but she never explained how it would be done, how long it would take, whether it would be painful, if local anesthesia would be used, how long the recovery might last, or any other important details. Instead, she simply walked away and saw another patient.

Very expensive for a 5 to 10 minute appointment – $320.00 for each visit including post op follow up.
Still recovering from a very traumatic operation experience.
No doctor visit before op or discharge from overnight stay – but a referral from the nurse to walk across the road (while it was raining and extremely cold)to visit her beauty clinic to get LED treatment after my operation for a ‘post op’ treatment. This is a further fee of $60 with a 45 minute wait
Wanted a copy of her notes. Receptionist said to ask the doctor – doctor said to ask Reception – notes not provided.
No patient care or wellbeing here but a tense environment to wait for your appointment covered and reminded of her accomplishments and pictures.

Dr Fariba recently assisted me with a few gyny issues involving surgery and I am forever grateful for her professionalism and expertise. There is no fluffy approach during your consultation, but rather direct recommendations which were best suited toward my situation.

Dr Fariba is a wonderful female leader who stands up for womens rights and even performs corrective surgery to many women savaged by FGM. Incredible and yet another reason I chose her for my surgery. It told me a lot about who she was as a person.

My GP (since retired) has always referred me to the best specialists for any medical issues in Adelaide and Dr Fariba was one of them. I also carried out my own research and felt 200% sure about my final decision to go with her.

If you prefer a long consultation with all the fluffy talk and a sales pitch, you won’t get this from her. Dr Fariba knows the female body so well, she simply examines you, asks a few questions and advises you on the course of action that needs to be taken.

On surgery day, Dr Fariba greeted me with a huge smile and held my hand until I fell asleep. A few hours later, I woke up in recovery and Dr Fariba came to check on me to see how I was going. She also came to check on me the next day in hospital which was lovely. She so was happy for me and proud (as she should be) with the immediate results of her surgery.

I am day 2 post op and still very sore which is to be expected but I’m so incredibly happy and thankful with the work she has done in correcting my problems. I couldn’t have asked for a better result.

I can’t thank you enough Dr Fariba. You are an amazing person and doctor. .
For those out there considering a gyny procedure or even wish to discuss an issue, I highly recommend Dr Fariba. You really can’t go wrong.

For those reviews re personal questions, I see this as positive and her getting to know you a little better by understanding your situation, lifestyle etc

Dr Fariba, you are a special woman with a warm heart. Thank you for all you do for women. ☺️

To the medical receptionists (particularly Paige) at FBW, you were all super helpful and efficient in answering all of my questions.

My initial consult with Dr. Fariba was one with a stern, rushed and invasive experience. Her walls were littered with newspaper clippings of herself and figurenes of herself too! So strange. After a quick 10 minute chat regarding my cycle and my hormonal concerns, Dr. Fariba told me I needed to go on the pill and I will feel better. She then insisted on an internal examination which made me feel awkward and quite vulnerable. She was rough and forceful and I will never visit her again. She told me I had some endometriosis after a 2 minute painful internal, she sent me off. I wouldn’t recommend anyone visit her for any gyno or obstectric issues.

I was referred to Dr Willison. At my initial consultation, she made me feel uncomfortable and ill at ease. My appointment also felt rushed. She asked if I plan on having children, and when I said no, she gave me a stern look and said “What’s wrong with young people these days, they don’t want to have children”. I’m in my late thirties. She doesn’t know my reasons, and even if she did, that’s her own personal opinion. It shouldn’t have any bearing on how she treats her patients.
On the day of my procedure, when I was on the operating table about to go under general anaesthesia, she said “we’re putting a Mirena in, right?”. She called me “naughty” when I declined. Scolding me like a disobedient child just because I don’t want an IUD. Which she already knew because I already said no at my initial consultation.
She is incredibly unprofessional and I will not be going back.

My understanding is that O&G appears to struggle significantly with patient communication and support. Reports consistently suggest a lack of empathy and a dismissive attitude towards individuals seeking medical assistance, particularly those dealing with sensitive or distressing situations. The absence of readily accessible care and direct lines of communication with practitioners raises serious concerns about the quality and timeliness of the assistance offered.

It’s troubling to hear about a systemic failure to provide a reassuring and compassionate environment. A reputable medical practice should prioritize clear communication and actively listen to patient concerns. The lack of these fundamentals and a perceived lack of accountability point towards a need for significant operational improvements and a renewed focus on patient-centered care. It is essential that the practice addresses these failings to restore trust and ensure the well-being of those under their care through better training.

This practice demonstrates a completely poor standard of professionalism, with a clear lack of genuine care for patients. They have no idea how to handle people presenting with delicate and distressing issues.

It doesn’t matter how skilled a doctor may be if the practice staff are negligent, dismissive, and incapable of providing proper support. The way patients are spoken to and treated here leaves them feeling ignored and unsafe.

For anyone considering this clinic — I would strongly caution you to look elsewhere for care that is respectful, compassionate, and competent.

I’ve had multiple friends attend this practice and every single one has had a terrible experience. They were already dealing with troubling and distressing situations, which were only made worse by the poor protocol, lack of support, and dismissive attitude from the staff.

A medical practice should provide reassurance, compassion, and clear communication — this one does the opposite. Patients are left more anxious, more confused, and in some cases at risk of harm because of the way things are handled.

This is not safe, professional, or patient-centred care. I would strongly advise avoiding this practice.I’m

This place is completely negligent and could not care less about their patients. I attended this practice and after having a horrendous pregnancy related issue was seeking advice from my obstetrician. I called the clinic for advice and they refused to let me speak directly to her – instead I could only convey my many questions through one of their incompetent midwives, who did not take the time to convey any of my history to the doctor. This also took 10+ phone calls to resolve – which left me feeling stressed and anxious at a time when I was already devastated. The outcome was that I was left with incorrect information that almost resulted in me having an emergency surgery that I never needed in the first place. To top things off – their midwife Karen called me and told me that I “needed to be proactive about my own health” – this statement is vile when someone has already been through a difficult time, and completely and utterly useless given that I had call their clinic over 5 times to seek advice about the issue. I received absolutely zero support from the obstetrician who never so much as bothered to call me about the outcome. They also told me to “go to the WCH” if there was a problem – but then what is the point of private care if I’m just supposed to present to WCH for all my issues? To make matters worse, a friend of mine was referred there for abnormal bleeding. After making her do a variety of tests including an US scan – they said they would call her with an appointment time. She waited over a week for a phone call only to be told that they are “too busy to see her” and to “find another doctor”. If that was the case they should never have taken the referral and should have redirected her immediately. If they had been upfront from the beginning, she would’ve booked elsewhere from the beginning. They have now resulted in a long delay of her seeing a specialist and therefore delaying potentially urgent treatment – this is actively putting people at risk of harm. These doctors do not seem to have a model of care that focuses on women and their wellbeing at all, they only seem to focus on financial incentives. The care provided is not only substandard, but also not holistic in any way, shape or form. So disappointing especially from a female dominated practice. I urge everyone to steer clear from this practice.

I have referred many friends to this clinic. The staff here take on all considerations and Dr Denton is by far the best gyno I have seen. Dr Denton takes all information, is thorough and discusses all concerns without judgement and tries to find alternatives for all care if you’re feeling unsure. She discusses things in a language that is easily understood, and allows time for any questions making you feel in control of your own body. I felt listened to and heard when discussing my lived experience which made me feel safe and understood. The reception staff are kind and always greet with a smile which makes for a comfortable experience. I highly recommend this practice!

My wife got admitted for a post op complication after hysterectomy by dr Webber at Calvary North Adelaide couple of years ago.
Dr Webber, her primary surgeon was away hence she was to be looked after by dr Woolcock . My wife had severe abdominal pain while in hospital during her second admission. We requested dr Woolcock to review her but she refused to come and see my wife despite we both being medicos and we both were worried.
I must say it was very poor and unprofessional response from Dr Woolcock.
Do not recommend anyone to see them.

I had trouble getting a diagnosis and was recommended to see someone in this clinic. I have been told they are all awesome! My referral got sent to them almost immediately by my GP along side with the latest blood test and ultrasound results. First call, they said the doctor will review the referral then they will call me to let me know with an appointment date. Second call, they tell me the doctor thinks I may need a surgery and this will cost me 8-12k because I don’t have private insurance. They suggested I go to a public hospital! I said okay and hanged up instead of saying “I am prepared to pay fully for all the consultation and surgery. I refuse to pay for private insurance for personal reasons.”
This attitude is wrong in so many levels. You don’t give your patience a chance to even see a doctor. You could at least say “You have options. Our waitlist is 4 months and you will be paying this much for the consultation or we could ask your GP to send a referral to the public hospital. It will still be a waitlist but it’s free. What do you think?” But nope… I am frustrated, felt unheard and stressed. I have been dealing with these symptoms for so long and was so excited to see someone in this clinic as the recommendation I got gave me some hope. Since you see me as a business not as a patient it’s only fair to say that you lost my business.

What exactly does a gynecologist do?

Gynecologists are medical professionals specializing in the reproductive health of women. They provide care from adolescence through menopause, encompassing a wide range of services like routine check-ups, prenatal care, treatment of reproductive diseases, and family planning advice. Their expertise extends to both medical and surgical aspects of women's health.

When should I first see a gynecologist?

Many guidelines suggest a first visit around the age of 13 or 15, or when you become sexually active. However, you can see a gynecologist at any age for concerns like menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain, or other reproductive health questions. It's important to establish a baseline for your health and develop a long-term care plan with a healthcare provider.

What can I expect during a routine check-up?

A routine check-up typically includes a pelvic exam, a Pap smear (to screen for cervical cancer), a breast exam, and a discussion about your medical history and any concerns you may have. The gynecologist will also inquire about your lifestyle, including diet and exercise habits. Open and honest communication is key to a successful check-up.

How often should I get a Pap smear?

Pap smear recommendations have evolved. Current guidelines often suggest getting a Pap smear every three to five years, depending on your age, medical history, and the results of previous screenings. However, always follow your gynecologist's personalized recommendations. Recent advances include HPV testing, which can influence screening frequency.

What is the difference between a gynecologist and an obstetrician?

While the terms are often used interchangeably, there's a distinction. A gynecologist specializes in the reproductive health of women, while an obstetrician focuses on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. Some doctors are both gynecologists and obstetricians, offering a full range of women's health services.

How do I choose a gynecologist in Adelaide?

When selecting a gynecologist, consider factors like their experience, qualifications, and patient reviews. Check if they are registered with the Medical Board of Australia. It’s also important to find someone you feel comfortable talking to, as open communication is vital for effective care. Consider their location and availability as well.

What types of conditions do gynecologists treat?

Gynecologists treat a wide range of conditions, including fibroids, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), uterine prolapse, and infertility. They also manage conditions related to menopause and provide preventative care for cancers of the reproductive system.

What should I do if I'm experiencing unusual vaginal discharge?

Unusual vaginal discharge can be a sign of an infection or other medical condition. It’s important to schedule an appointment with a gynecologist to determine the cause and receive appropriate treatment. Avoid self-treating as this could potentially worsen the problem or mask a more serious issue.

Are there any specialized gynecologists in Adelaide?

Yes, Adelaide has specialized gynecologists focusing on areas such as reproductive endocrinology (infertility), gynecologic oncology (cancer treatment), and minimally invasive surgery. If you have a specific condition or need advanced care, your general practitioner can refer you to a specialist.

What are the costs associated with seeing a gynecologist?

The costs vary depending on the services provided and whether you have private health insurance. A standard consultation may be subsidised by Medicare if you have a referral from your general practitioner. Private health insurance can cover a portion of the fees for certain procedures and tests. It’s always wise to inquire about costs upfront.
