I visited Flinders Fertility back in 2015 for IVF which lead to the birth of my beautiful daughter in 2016. I am now back again to try for one more before my clock runs out, we have had a failed attempt so far, but the clinic was very supportive during all that. We are about to start to process again, with different medications and doses, hoping for a better result this time. Staying positive in the mean time.
A huge thanks to the team at flinders fertility for our perfect baby boy IVF is such a testing journey with no guarantees… we certainly got lucky! But throughout the rollercoaster ride the doctors, nurses and admin team made us feel very well looked after, demonstrating great professionalism and were supportive, empathetic and just really human. Thank you all!
I’ve had a horrible experience with Flinders Fertility. Despite having a legal name change, I was repeatedly deadnamed. something that is completely unacceptable, especially at a fertility clinic that claims to support queer people. You’d think staff would be properly trained in this area. I also felt judged for not fitting their "ideal client profile" I’m not part of a wealthy, older couple trying for a first child and that seemed to matter. They promote themselves as one of the only clinics with PBS funding, yet they are still among the most expensive options. On top of this, I was pressured into IVF prematurely and recommended unnecessary testing that felt more like a way to extract money than genuine care. I left feeling disrespected, excluded, and taken advantage of. I cannot recommend this clinic to anyone seeking a supportive and ethical fertility journey.
We’re now well into our fertility journey under the care of Dr Toby Angstmann. Following a recent loss, Toby reached out to us personally to offer support and talk through what had happened. Both Toby and the team at Flinders have gone above and beyond, patiently answering every question, no matter how big or small and sitting with me through moments of deep sadness and hopeful anticipation. Toby has taken the time to walk me through the science behind IVF, always ensuring I feel informed and never rushed, in addition to this Toby has been open to discussing a holistic care approach. I truly feel supported by this incredible team and couldn’t recommend them more
I wish we never set foot in Flinders Fertility. I tried to resolve my complaint internally, however we have been dismissed and they have focused on what they want to focus on, so we are currently looking to lodge a complaint with the Health and Community Services Complaints Commissioner. We were pushed into IVF treatment prematurely, they failed to diagnose an underlying condition and we were treated with a lack of empathy. I’d hate for another couple to go through what we have, I’d strongly recommend seeking fertility advice and treatment elsewhere- anywhere but Flinders Fertility. And no, this review is not driven by emotion. This is driven by the fact we were wronged by this clinic and literally everyone I have spoken to is shocked by our situation. We tried to do the right thing and resolve this with them but they failed to even acknowledge their wrong doings so others need to know what sort of clinic you are dealing with.
I’m writing this review as part of my healing process. A few years back my husband and I spent thousands of dollars trying to fall pregnant. We were even charged for a failed cycle, leaving us out of pocket and unable to afford another cycle any time afterwards. After my doctor at the clinic left to work overseas, I was passed around from doctor to doctor. And when I went for an ultrasound I had to make a massive decision on my own when it came to continuing on to egg retrieval. I thought they were the experts, so why was it up to me to decide? I was told that there weren’t a lot to use. But I now know that was probably my only chance. I’m now 47 and gave up hope after being told I’d need a donor. A massive part of me still blames the way I was treated as a patient for never having my chance at having a family. People need to know that I was treated quite badly at Flinders Fertility when they were located at Flinders Hospital.
I went through Flinders Fertility and first round of IVF and I fell pregnant. I have a beautiful healthy 8 month old baby girl which wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for the Flinders Fertility clinic.. So blessed and greatful.
