An excellent family business.
Very helpful and generous owner who couldn’t have been more helpful.
I recommend this business if you’re looking to buy a piano.
I scrolled through the reviews to read other comments before deciding to purchase from this company.
All reviews were positive except one written two weeks ago.
I wouldn’t pay too much attention to one negative opinion compared with many positive experiences.

Definitely, this opinion is not just my perception. This school taught me not only the importance of mastering a second language like English but also the value of getting to know other cultures and navigating different accents. The teachers are excellent and the academic rigor is high, but manageable for an English course. The facilities are top-notch, the bathrooms are always clean, and the kitchen, dining area, and other common areas are very well maintained. I participated in the Mindful Clay Pottery Wheel 8 week workshops at Goodwood. It was a wonderful experience. My friend and I really looked forward to these sessions each week.

Sofie was an amazing teacher. Her whole group demonstrations were inspiring. She spent time watching and helping each of us independently, targeting her support to each of our specific needs. Sofie was patient and showed me things over and over when I was finding things difficult.

Wheel throwing was much harder than I had expected it to be however lots of laughs were had as well as mindful moments. I would definitely recommend! Can’t wait to pick up my final pieces. ♥️

My mum booked a private party for a birthday and told them that she has not been able to confirm numbers yet but wants to book the room/party ahead of time. She was told that to book the room she would have to pay the minimum amount of people (which was 5) to book/secure the room that fits up to 12 people and then she was told she would just have to confirm her final number 10 days before the event. She did this, then got no reply and had to follow up twice. She was met with a response that was we can only accommodate the confirmed 5 and we cannot add anymore people as the room for up to 12 was booked out. ?? How is this possible when she paid a large deposit for the full price of min 5 people to book that room? ( she never confirmed only 5, that was the minimum they said she had to pay to book the 12 person room) It left us with nowhere for the party as we couldn’t just have 5 people attend as the party had 8 people attending. We then booked elsewhere yesterday and have been requesting a refund for a couple of days. Which they refused and twisted their words. Today, after following up for a refund again, they are saying all of a sudden they can find somewhere for the extra people to fit in but they are not offering a refund. This is very unprofessional and not acceptable. They had already cancelled our session as we requested ONLY because they let our room be booked out by others when we had booked that room. Therefore we were not provided with the service we booked for and are entitled to a refund. Very disappointing behaviour and I hope they reach out to her to fix this asap.

Good instructor and enjoyable Pottery Wheel Experience class. You don’t get a say in the colours (blue or red, that’s it) splattered on the white clay; the instructor decides. That was a let down. When I collected the pieces, there was tiny flecks of a colour lol, and was told the kiln didn’t fire properly, so besides looking wonky with the glaze I assume they are now non-food safe. Good class for a night with friends, yes it’s an ‘experience’ so fair enough but there are better pottery courses/ classes.

My daughter was about 9 or 10 months when she started here, back when it was Paisley Park and she was there right through and has now started school this year. We were so happy with the care given to her at Edge. When any concerns were had about things communication was very good and I was made to feel heard and it seemed to be taken on board. The educators are very friendly and the director Puja is extremely wholesome and welcoming and they all have the utmost care for your little ones and will make sure they’re taken well care of. Kerry the chef there curates and cooks a great range of balanced and fresh delicious foods for the kids and takes on suggestions and dietary needs or beliefs and make great alternatives to suit, as well as makes the effort to bond with the kids and talk with the parents as they walk through everyday. Was very happy leaving our daughter in their care for many years.

The practical interview preparation tips and strategies I learned were extremely helpful and easy to apply in real interviews.
Thanks to this training, I was able to secure a job offer. I highly recommend Murphy and the Performance Education team for anyone looking to improve their interview skills and boost their career prospects.

Murphy (Songbing Jiang) has been an outstanding trainer in Performace Education. He really understands what IT graduates need and tailors his sessions to suit those needs, making the learning practical and relevant. On top of that, he went above and beyond by helping me resolve issues from a previous course, where my results hadn’t been marked as completed due to a system error. Thanks to Murphy’s support, everything was sorted smoothly. I truly appreciate his professionalism and dedication!

My 11 month old son join in a month ago and he has settled quick and well. The educators and team leader in baby room is very accommodating and did their best to help my little one settle. Communication is great too. He is now comfortable and happy under their care. Everyone from the director, admin staff and educators are all friendly and welcoming, not just to the little one but to parents as well. Thank you for looking after little ones with care.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Goodstart Underdale for the incredible support you’ve given my little one.

From the very beginning, she settled so well into the centre—something that wouldn’t have been possible without the warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment you’ve created.

I’m especially grateful for how her exceptional needs have been met with such care and consideration. It’s made a huge difference in our lives, and I truly can’t thank you enough.

Jayda, your leadership and the dedication of all the educators are deeply appreciated. We feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful centre even though was a short period of time.

Really great centre. So welcoming and supportive of our little boy’s needs (in particular his allergies). Everyone, staff, educators are always kind, friendly and caring, and in the rooms they are always making sure kids have fun activities to learn from while enjoying their time there. Love seeing the photos and reading the stories at the end of day, and following my little boy’s routine for the day. We cannot thank you all enough for your care and dedication.

My daughter has been attending Goodstart Underdale for just under two years. I could not fault this centre in any way. My daughter has autism and is non verbal and the teaching staff have gone above and beyond to learn as much as they can and also work super hard to include her in everything. The teaching staff are absolutely lovely, they know all the parents and children by name and are so easy to deal with. The facilities are also great and my daughter loves all the activities she gets to do. Highly recommend!

Our second daughter and second Goodstart star. Both girls and parents have loved our time with Goodstart Underdale (both starting in the baby room)…. From reception staff to educators and directors, everyone has been amazing. Our first was there (almost) since the centres opening and 5 years on, we’re still enjoying the experience, the fun, the events and the teachings. Highly recommend!!!

PS… As a family with 2 Mums, we absolutely appreciate the extra love, gifts and cards on Mother’s Day.

Our toddler started at Goodstart Underdale recently and we couldn’t recommend it enough! We were so nervous as it’s his first time in daycare but the amazing team at Goodstart Underdale made this journey easy for us. The center is clean, welcoming and all the staff are so professional yet so warm. All the educators have been really kind and patient in helping our little one settle and provide very transparent communication. Shout out to Director Raj, Jayda, Maria, Peyton , Francesca and rest of the team(apologies if I missed some names), also thank you to Bianca for providing nutritious food for his dietary requirements!
We love getting his updates and photos on the app seeing him play and settle well. The absolute inclusiveness this center has with culture is by far the best we have seen.
Thank you for providing extremely warm nurturing environment for our little one and exceeding our expectations!

Frequently Asked Questions about Education in Adelaide

What types of schools are available in Adelaide?

Adelaide offers a diverse range of schools, including public schools, private schools, and independent schools. Public schools are government-funded and generally accessible to all students residing in the catchment area. Private schools often have higher fees and may offer specialized programs or a particular educational philosophy. Independent schools share characteristics of both public and private institutions, often with a strong emphasis on student-centered learning.

How does the school zoning system work in Adelaide?

Adelaide operates with a school zoning system, meaning that students are typically assigned to a local public school based on their residential address. These zones are carefully defined, and residing within a zone guarantees a place at the assigned school. Some schools have limited spaces, and exceeding zone boundaries may require an application for enrolment based on availability. Knowing your catchment area is vital.

What are the key differences between public, private, and independent schools?

The primary differences lie in funding, fees, and curriculum. Public schools are funded by the government and offer free education. Private schools charge tuition fees and may offer specialized programs or religious instruction. Independent schools have greater autonomy in designing their curriculum and setting their policies. The ideal choice depends on your child’s individual needs and your family’s values.

How can I find information about school rankings and performance?

The South Australian government provides publicly accessible data on school performance, including NAPLAN results, student attendance, and graduation rates. These statistics can provide valuable insights into a school’s overall effectiveness. Independent education websites also provide comparative data and school reviews. However, it’s important to consider these rankings alongside other factors, such as school culture and teaching staff.

What is the process for enrolling a child in a South Australian school?

The enrolment process typically begins with submitting an application form to the desired school. For public schools, enrolment is usually based on catchment area, but some schools may have waiting lists. Private and independent schools often have their own application procedures, which may include interviews and assessments. Early application is always recommended, especially for popular schools. Check each school’s website for their specific enrolment timelines.

What support is available for students with special educational needs?

South Australian schools are committed to providing support for students with special educational needs. This may include individualized education programs (IEPs), specialist teachers, and access to assistive technologies. Parents should communicate with the school to discuss their child’s specific needs and develop a tailored support plan. Funding is often available to help support these individualized learning plans.

Are there options for homeschooling in Adelaide?

Yes, homeschooling is a legal option in South Australia. Parents choosing this route must register with the Department of Education and meet certain requirements, including providing evidence of suitable educational resources and assessment methods. Homeschooling provides a flexible learning environment but requires significant parental commitment and organizational skills.

What is the curriculum followed in South Australian schools?

South Australian schools follow the Australian Curriculum, which outlines the learning areas and achievement standards for all subjects. These include English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Arts, and Technologies. The curriculum is regularly reviewed and updated to ensure it remains relevant and prepares students for future challenges. Specific subjects may have different assessment criteria.

What are the typical school terms and holidays in Adelaide?

The South Australian school year is divided into four terms, each lasting approximately ten weeks, interspersed with shorter holiday breaks. Major holidays include the Christmas/New Year break, Easter break, and mid-year break. The Department of Education’s website publishes a calendar of school terms and holidays, which is essential for planning family activities and travel.

How can I find out more about specific schools in Adelaide?

Several resources are available to learn more about specific schools. School websites provide detailed information about their programs, facilities, and staff. School tours are often offered, allowing prospective families to experience the school environment firsthand. Talking to current parents or attending school open days can provide valuable insights and perspectives. The Department of Education website also lists all South Australian schools and provides contact details.
