Beyond Dogs

After countless stressful encounters with out of control dogs, my boy had become dog-reactive, and it felt safer just to stay home with him. I reached out to trainer after trainer, but the answers were always the same "we can’t do that," "try someone else," or "he can’t be near other dogs." I was frustrated, defeated, and honestly losing hope. Then I found Matt from Beyond Dogs and everything changed. From our very first conversation, I knew this was where we needed to be. Instead of turning us away after hearing my dog’s breed, Matt got genuinely excited to help. That alone gave me hope. Within just 15 minutes of working with my boy, I was overwhelmed with pride. He stopped pulling on the lead and started focusing on his handler in a way I’d never seen before. After a few day training sessions and keeping up with the work at home, the transformation has been incredible. He no longer barks at other dogs, he can walk around the block calmly, and he’s so much more confident in himself and his surroundings. Matt has also gone above and beyond, offering guidance with both of my dogs. His ability to understand each dog’s needs and then transfer that knowledge to the owner is truly remarkable. We’re so grateful to Matt and Courtney and look forward to continuing this journey with them. One day, we’ll be joining those pack walks. We’re not quite there yet, but now I know it’s possible. We have only had our initial consult with Courtney but she has instilled SO much confidence in us with our high energy GSP. Literally the following morning after Courtney had visited, I had the most peaceful breakfast that I have had in months all thanks to her tips and tricks! Courtney was awesome to work with. We're currently one session in and the advice has already helped my partner and I communicate more clearly with our energetic puppy and provide her what she needs to be satisfied. We can’t thank Courtney & the Beyond Dogs team enough for everything they’ve done with our dogs, Larry & Nala. From the very first session, Courtney’s passion and love for what she does came through. She helped us with "Bed," "Place," loose leash walking, "Leave it" and more, the difference has been incredible. Thanks for the advice Courtney! And Matt for giving me so much time on the initial call I nearly had all the advice I needed courtesy of your enthusiasm for free! Courtney did add a lot to that and our little mate will be much better (and happier) for it. (Not to imply he’s not happy, he’s a pretty low energy guy and that’s ok).

Courtney and Matt really set the foundation for helping us train our little Toller! This is a highly active breed that needs a lot of guidance, and Beyond Dogs puppy school and follow up sessions trained both us and the dog how to be an effective team when it comes to dog training. I can’t thank them enough again. Our puppy, at 6 months of age, has better impulse control than a lot of others much older than him!
