Rudi has participated in K9 Kindy, Adventure School, Level 1 Obedience, and regularly enjoys Doggy Daycare. She’s currently thriving in Paws Unleashed. The growth in Rudi’s focus and overall well-being, especially her energetic kelpie mind, is a direct result of the enriching environment provided by ABT. We can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for Rudi.

Amy Van Dyk is an excellent dog trainer that helped me solve K9 ANGEL’s (Black and Tan Working Line German Shepherd) dog reactivity in 2013, helped with her preliminary training and to get up to par to sit her first Service K9 PAT test before our first flight to Los Angeles back in 2015. Amy’s positive, reward based methods worked excellent on K9 Angel and we never had reactivity after working through it with her back in 2013. Amy helped instil the preliminary foundations, and her methods of letting the dog emotionally understand that reactions are unnecessary actually solved K9 Angel’s dog reactivity in the long term. K9 ANGEL went on to become a globally accredited Service K9 with Assistance Dogs of the West (based in New Mexico) under ADI in 2016, a course with a 85% attrition rate for most dogs, requiring the highest level of obedience, skill and composure in the dog.

Amy even helped us on call at the airport before boarding the flight to LA with creating her PAT test certificate according to the airlines guidelines, something we used throughout our time in LA.

K9 Angel travelled across the USA and lived in Los Angeles for 13 months from 2015, in the middle of Hollywood Blvd, a high stress, high traffic environment and was exposed to multiple dogs daily. Because of her training with Amy who took the time to let K9 Angel understand the situation and not to react and what behavior to perform instead, she took these high stress, high trigger environments all in her stride, and we never dealt with reactivity after going through it in 2013. K9 Angel unfortunately E.O.W’d on duty in 2018 and is greatly missed, and forever cherished.

I trust Amy with my dogs due to her expertise in dog behavior and real life experience in actually solving reactivity. So much so that we travelled from Canberra to Adelaide in October 2024 to do a one month bootcamp style training month with WOLF (Sable Working Line German Shepherd) to help solve his reactivity issues. Wolf tends to be suspicious of strangers but took to Amy immediately, and was super social and affectionate with her. Amy is the first trainer to have handled Wolf like she did in October since Wolf was a puppy. Amy is a natural with dogs and animals, she is especially gifted with working breeds. We made huge progress with Wolf in the month, having training every second day, sometimes twice a day, and Wolf truly enjoyed the sessions. I highly recommend Amy and the team at Advance Behavioural Training for anyone with a dog, especially a working breed, and Adelaide is lucky to have her and her facility! We only wish we had access to ABT in person as we would have progressed much further had we started off with them and had them local! Again, can’t recommend her enough for working line dogs especially!

All the staff at ABT are wonderful and helpful. Our Dog Noctis goes to daycare and has a blast it’s been fantastic for socialization, he’s completed level one and level two obedience, gone to birthday and costume parties and we always get lots of photos, feedback and support. Personalized care and help is a constant. They are also fast to respond to concerns. I would recommend them to everyone.

Special mentions to the wonderful owner Amy who is a bright face that’s always present and trainers/daycare/admin attendants Ollie, Chantelle, Aiden, Lucy, Lily, Mignon, Cassie, Ashleigh, Victor, Courtney and Emma who always treat our boy like he’s the most special dog around.

ABT chaperoned our two dogs for our wedding. One of our girls is very anxious and her trainer, Aidan, handled her amazingly. I felt so comfortable leaving our girls with both of the trainers, and they took them home, gave them dinner and dessert (which was pupcakes supplied by them) and put them to bed. They also helped to get our girls to look towards the camera for photos, and they made sure they were safe and comfortable. It was a wonderful experience and took away so much stress from us. I couldn’t recommend this service more.

Thank you, Aidan, at ABT, for the excellent one-on-one training with our dog Winnie! Winnie is an anxious and reactive dog, so attending the usual puppy classes was challenging for us. While we’ve had great success with ABT’s puppy classes for our other dogs, it wasn’t as easy this time.

ABT was very understanding and allowed us to transfer our prepaid fees to an at-home training session. This was exactly what Winnie needed. In just one 2-hour session, Aidan’s positive and calming attitude as a trainer made a noticeable difference. We could already see the benefits! You were right Winnie was very tired after his training session. Highly recommend Aidan.

ABT has been amazing for me and my first pup. K9 Kindy and the adventure classes have improved Caspers confidence, focus, and behavior in public and around other dogs. My puppy, Skye, and I were recommended the OzCorpK9 team from a coworker. We have both been really happy with the support and training we have received from the OzCorp team especially Shaun, our main trainer. We have initially completed the seven week program/course and found that the one-on-one sessions were pivotal to Skye’s training and overall development as a puppy. We will definitely be continuing in group classes and also some of the half-day training programs. Shaun has invaluable knowledge and provided me and Skye with lots of support taking into consideration her needs as an individual dog, with her own personality and specific needs. We began training with Ryan King 7 years ago and have been thrilled to witness the progress of Ozcorp K9 giving valuable education to dog owners that strengthen their communication and relationship. Seeing your dog mastering new skills and being fulfilled in their drives is so heartwarming. Ryan’s teaching style is first class and in my case, definitely bridged the gap between dog owner and training enthusiast! Can’t recommend highly enough.

I am currently completing Ryan’s 7 lesson, one on one training course with my 11 month old boxer, Sienna, and we love it! So happy that I signed up, the process is definitely exceeding my expectations. We are really enjoying the sessions, they are highly informative and fun! Ryan is an excellent trainer and teacher. A joy to be involved in, I am experiencing a richer, more rewarding relationship with my dog and have discovered she is much brighter than I imagined.

Highly recommend the foundations course for young pups. Ryan and the team truely know what they are doing when it comes to instilling the basics in this great course. Apart from teaching us, Bowie is thoroughly enjoying learning new commands and tricks.

Excellent trainers! I highly recommend them to everyone. Being there right next to you really helps with correcting the little things owners are doing wrong.

For me, it helped a lot with ‘timing of reward markers’, which helps give clearer messages to the dog. As well as engagement, the difference between listening sometimes and every time.

After countless stressful encounters with out of control dogs, my boy had become dog-reactive, and it felt safer just to stay home with him. I reached out to trainer after trainer, but the answers were always the same “we can’t do that,” “try someone else,” or “he can’t be near other dogs.” I was frustrated, defeated, and honestly losing hope.

Then I found Matt from Beyond Dogs and everything changed. From our very first conversation, I knew this was where we needed to be. Instead of turning us away after hearing my dog’s breed, Matt got genuinely excited to help. That alone gave me hope.

Within just 15 minutes of working with my boy, I was overwhelmed with pride. He stopped pulling on the lead and started focusing on his handler in a way I’d never seen before. After a few day training sessions and keeping up with the work at home, the transformation has been incredible. He no longer barks at other dogs, he can walk around the block calmly, and he’s so much more confident in himself and his surroundings.

Matt has also gone above and beyond, offering guidance with both of my dogs. His ability to understand each dog’s needs and then transfer that knowledge to the owner is truly remarkable.

We’re so grateful to Matt and Courtney and look forward to continuing this journey with them. One day, we’ll be joining those pack walks. We’re not quite there yet, but now I know it’s possible.

We can’t thank Courtney & the Beyond Dogs team enough for everything they’ve done with our dogs, Larry & Nala. From the very first session, Courtney’s passion and love for what she does came through. She helped us with “Bed,” “Place,” loose leash walking, “Leave it” and more, the difference has been incredible.

Thanks for the advice Courtney! And Matt for giving me so much time on the initial call I nearly had all the advice I needed courtesy of your enthusiasm for free! Courtney did add a lot to that and our little mate will be much better (and happier) for it. (Not to imply he’s not happy, he’s a pretty low energy guy and that’s ok).

Courtney and Matt really set the foundation for helping us train our little Toller! This is a highly active breed that needs a lot of guidance, and Beyond Dogs puppy school and follow up sessions trained both us and the dog how to be an effective team when it comes to dog training. I can’t thank them enough again. Our puppy, at 6 months of age, has better impulse control than a lot of others much older than him!

The whole crew at Canine Connect have been a very valuable part of my dog Chema’s training journey. I can highly recommend Canine Connect, I have two dogs which have both attended, day school, private consultation and weekend group classes. From when they started there to how they are both now, they have both come so far and that’s because of the staff dedication to not only training the dogs but also helping me as the owner support both my dogs.

Crumpets becoming a much calmer pup since attending canine connect. He gets spoilt and trained during the day whilst i work a busy day and i can easily continue with his training at home with the easy instructions supplied. 10/10 recommend

Our rescue dog Hooch has been training with the Canine Connect for a few months now attending Doggy day school and the results have been amazing! he has gone from being a very reactive, shy dog, that was hard to control to being a confident dog, that follows instructions (most of the time :)), loves training (especially when it is doggy day school day) and is getting better and better every day! I love that after each class we receive a report card as well as photos/videos of him during the day. I cannot recommend the team enough the change in Hooch has been so noticeable and is worth every cent. we are so thankful for the team and their care they invest in Hooch.

I highly recommend Canine Connect. They have made a big different to my nervous dog Louie who has been going to their Day School. Shevi has worked hard with Louie to build up his confidence, his manners, and to help him work out the world is not such a scary place. The communication we get from Shevi at the end of every session then helps us to keep going with the training at home.

I’m already gobsmacked by the changes in Loki thanks to his Board and Train. Hes only been home 24hrs and already hes shown better behaviour and obedience and even being more settled in general and leaving the cat alone which is gigantic!!!! Hes still got a long way to go but really happy with the changes already and will be going back for another round of board and train in a few months

We couldn’t be happier with the quality of training and communication from Canine Connect. My dog Kasper went for a 21 day board and train to help with some behaviours we were struggling with. Thanks to Shevi and Devon, Kasper came back a lot more confident and with better manners. They really took the time to bond with Kasper who absolutely adores them. I recieved photos every day to show his progress and a very detailed handover when I picked him up, and a follow up two weeks later. Kasper and our other dog Jackson are now attending day school. I honestly couldn’t be happier with the level of knowledge, professionalism and passion that Shevi and Devon have for training dogs. Kasper and Jackson love going to Canine Connect. Great local puppy and dog training club in Morphett Vale with very friendly and knowledgeable instructors who are all volunteers well worth taking your puppy or dog to get some basic training.

My daughter and myself just started with our puppies training, we found it to be a friendly atmosphere and allot of very helpful trainers working with our 2 puppies. We will be going again for sure. We were Very happy with the help offered last Sunday and our two 5 month old large puppies thoroughly enjoyed them selves too. The price is affordable for each sunday morning as we are both on a low income Thank you.

Southern Districts Kennel and Obedience Club is an amazing place to go with your pooch!

The staff that run the classes are so friendly and full of tips to help you to best train your dog. They also have mountains of patience so you never have to worry about them sticking with you in the harder days when your dog just doesn’t want to listen.

The price is very good for how much attention you get and the length of classes. Highly recommended.

My Corgi was reactive to other dogs after a trauma. With the tips that Robin at Denali Dog Training we have made huge steps in him trusting me to protect him from other dogs and him being able to approach them when they’re calm. While we still have more work to do, I am so grateful for the help she gave us to make sure that my boy is calm and collected out in public. UPDATE:

I reached back out to Robin after I was having trouble with reactivity (over excitement) to other dogs/people while going for walks, pulling on the lead and recall. Robin came out for a consult and spent the day going through a range of disengagement techniques to improve reactivity. I decided to come along to the 6-week class and completed two blocks. I am super pleased with the progress my Louie has made thanks to Robin! I now love taking him for walks knowing he doesn’t pull on the lead and jump towards other dogs/people when he sees them.
I can’t recommend Robin enough – she’s provided me with a lifetime of tips and resources. Louie and I are very thankful to you, Robin!

2025 UPDATE:
I highly recommend Robin at Denali Dog Training. She’s exceptional at pinpointing problem areas and providing step-by-step guidance to correct unwanted behaviours. We were impressed with the immediate results we saw after just one session. The classes reinforce those lessons and provide real world exposure to distractions like loud noise, traffic and other dogs. Most importantly, you’ll gain the confidence to handle any situation that may arise with a reactive dog.

We have recently had a consult with Robin for our dog Poppy (an 8 yr old rescue with a traumatic beginning to life). Robin conducted an enquiry regarding Poppy’s behaviors and demeanor and what we were hoping the outcomes of training to be. To say Robin’s knowledge and insight was extensive and comprehensive, would be an understatement. Her passion and professionalism is palpable. Over the course of many hours, Robin demonstrated how to apply positive reinforcement training in different scenarios, one of which was a walk on the street past other dogs in a fenced yard. For context, Poppy is dog reactive and so it was remarkable to see her do this, with the skills Robin had demonstrated. We continue to train Pops every day, honing each skill to ensure she is set up for success, and for a future where we can go out into the world happily and calmly. Robin checks in via email, which we are so appreciative of. This
demonstrates her desire for success for dogs and owners alike. We have referred workmates to Robin based on our very positive experience. Thank you Robin 🙂

Robin is absolutely amazing! We appreciate her help so much, she took the time to go through a few issues we were having with our puppy and she also gave us lots of information and ideas from the best food to how to handle dog reactivity. We worked with Tamara to get some assistance for our young Vizsla, Lenny. Tamara was excellent, coming into our home and observing us with Lenny first. She gave us such good insight into the “why” behind dog’s behaviour and gave us such a good understanding of Lenny and this translated into a better understanding of how our own behaviours were negatively impacting our desired outcome. We would absolutely recommend Tamara and use her in future!

Tamara was absolutely amazing. Extremely through and listened attentively to what our goals were. We made a plan together and the results have been incredible. We will continue to work with Best Friend Dog care in the future. Texas (our little trainee!) has come leaps and bounds since we started about 6 weeks ago. Definately recommend doing the full consecutive 5-6 sessions as it’s much more beneficial for everyone, as the training is as much about us understanding our little puppies as it is them!

Tamara is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She loves what she does, and it really shows. She helped not only our dog gain confidence but also myself. Before Tamara, we couldn’t take our puppy out without her going crazy at everyone. Now she loves going out with us. Our puppy still has a lot to learn, but we left our lessons with valuable tools on how to help her be the best doggie she can be. We would never have been able to make such progress without Tamara. Highly recommended.

Tamara was easy to understand, friendly and worked with Oscar and us to enable us to learn. We understand there is no quick way to change unwanted behaviour but with understanding how Oscar thinks different to us will bring about good outcomes. Highly recommend Tamara and Best Friend Dig Care.

We had George and Lam out yesterday to sort out some conflict between our two greyhounds given one is just new to the home. George was fantastic and so far we have two very happy and calm dogs. So much knowledge was shared and we are so grateful to have him come to assess our home and dynamics. We have taken back our space and both dogs seem so much happier as a result. Walks are so much more chill and we know now how to deal with reactiveness. We are now working on building our dogs to be their own pack with us in charge. Cannot recommend this training highly enough. So many things we were doing wrong we didn’t realise. If you have a two dog home it really is a different ballgame and we know now we had to adjust our behaviours to help them.

On a personal note thank you for listening and understanding, not making me feel like I have failed.

We have a reactive Pitbull X, Sahara, and have undertaken an expensive course with another trainer in the past. Whist that did help with her general obedience, and a little bit with her reactivity, we still had issues. We found George while doing a Google search in desperation. We are so glad we did! In just one session with George we had Sahara down the beach with lots of people and other dogs around. There were a few little reactions from her but nothing like in the past and she calmed down straight away. We even sat down at the bakery with her and had a coffee and chat with George. Something we never thought possible. He has given us so much more confidence with her. We had been shown the incorrect way to use her slip lead from the previous trainer. The correct way has made such a difference. George also gives you an understanding of how your energy and emotions play a part in your dogs behavior too. Very insightful! We would definitely recommend 🙂

I’ve gained a great foundation for a loving and respectful relationship with my pup and an insight into a side of her personality I didn’t even know she had! We found that the service provided exceeded all expectations. The learning started (for both Teddy and us) from the moment George entered the door. The approach was refreshing and involved developing a relationship with Teddy our Maltese X based on an understanding of the reasons for his actions. One of our issues was that Teddy always pulled on the lead but George using relatively simple techniques, learnt from his many years of experience, had him almost immediately walking by his side – we then later all went to the beach and interacted with other people and dogs – something we had not felt comfortable doing. We now have the techniques to continue on a positive journey with Teddy.

We have been taking our dog here for months and have seen unbelievable improvement. She has gone from being extremely anxious and reactive to controlling herself even when very close to other dogs. We are so grateful to Dog Club for helping Tandi- and us become better owners!
Massive shoutout to Vic as well, who is working so well with us in our individual sessions for socialisation. We could not recommend Dog Club enough to anyone; especially those who feel helpless (like we were- miracles happen here haha) and think there aren’t many options out there. We have had such an awesome experience at Dog Club. Daniel has been so helpful and we have appreciated his knowledge and guidance with our Rottweiler Lola. Lola has attended Hood Hangs and we completed our first Saturday Street Wise class which was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t be more grateful for this company and the experiences and training Lola is able to have now. Having the opportunity to work on Lola’s reactivity towards other dogs in a controlled environment is so beneficial.

We just completed the 8 week kick-start program. My German Shepherd x Maremma has gone from anxious, reactive, barking at neighbours to calm, happy and relaxed. Daniel predicted I would have a different dog after 8 weeks and he was absolutely right!
We still have a long way to go, but I now have a much healthier relationship with my dog and I am in control rather than reacting to his anxiety.

Daniel and the team at DogClubSA are fantastic at what they do. We have been taking our Doberman and Staffy for different reasons and the positive change we have seen already is incredible. One private session with Daniel at Dog Club and my dog is walking so much better on the lead! Not as reactive, minimal pulling after just one session – cant wait to see what she does after a few group classes… makes for a much happier dog AND owner!!

What a difference in her behaviour. I have been to several trainers over the years with my other dobermans and I must say Daniel is one of the Best by Far!! Thank you Daniel for helping me to be able to enjoy my Pup so much more!

Joined and attended for a few months. High variability in trainers knowledge, experience and techniques (& friendliness). Some trainers are still quite ‘old school’ in their methods. Some trainers are great, it is potluck who you get assigned to each month. This club is more rigid in the way behaviours are taught and expected. If you are keen to teach your dog in a more collaborative environment, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Side note; if you have a fearful or anxious dog, this isn’t the class nor club to address those concerns (mentioning because I saw some in the classes I attended)

A beautiful area to bring my dog for obedience training. All the staff are so wonderful and patient and they all volunteer. There’s a gift shop where they have hand picked ethical, local produce at wholesale prices.

Brilliant caring volunteer organization that encourages positive behaviour in all training aspects. They provide training from first timers to competition ready, in both obedience and skills. I can’t recommend them too highly, and our dog absolutely loves going.

SAODC is a voluntary organisation run by caring committed trainers. With classes from absolute beginner to trials and obedience competition level, there is aclass for every pooch. And above all, it’s fun for both the dogs and owners.

Very helpful with Obedience & the teachers are very good. I use to attend Dover Dog Club many years ago with my 2 Mini Schnauzers. No problems so far. I will go back one year to get my first CCD with my youngest one.

The volunteers are devoted and do a great job.

Great place to meet with other owners and their dogs and undertake good training. With pups I recommend arriving early to let your pup play with others.
