Welcoming and helpful staff. Lots of free information to browse: brochures, booklets, flyers about regional and local attractions and events. I especially appreciated the many pages of self-guided, heritage trails around the city. Small gift shop. Recycling depot for special items (blister packs!, batteries, etc.).

Called in to the visitor centre in Adelaide today. My first query was to ask for advice on dog friendly places to visit. The staff member looked horrified and asked, 'can't you google that?' We then asked for advice on a good road trip through to the Riverland area. She asked me what I meant by Riverland! I showed her the brochures I collected from the nearby stand. It just went downhill from there.... She was informative about one thing, google was an excellent resource.

I had my bicycle stolen in broad daylight right in front of the Adelaide Visitor Information Centre. The thieves broke my lock and took it within minutes. Sadly, no one seemed to care or even notice, despite the location being right next to the official tourism office and a busy street. It’s extremely disappointing that such a central and supposedly safe area has no proper security or surveillance. I want to warn other visitors and locals to be very careful with their belongings here — especially bikes. I hope the city takes action to improve safety around this area.

We popped in to see what Adelaide had to offer and Barbara was incredibly knowledgeable- we left with lots to do and not enough time to do it all.
