What a great tour. Even though I lived in SA for most of my life, my guide Katina showed me buildings that I didn’t even know were in Adelaide.
She is a wealth of knowledge about our history & very up to date with what is going on now.
Thoroughly enjoyed my 3 hour walk around beautiful Adelaide. Would recommend Flamboyance Tours to visitors and locals.
Thanks Katina.

We contacted Katina and asked if she could run a special Icons of Adelaide tour for us as we only had a Saturday available and she doesn’t usually run them on Saturdays. Fantastic tour for our family group – her depth of knowledge is extensive and her story telling intriguing and captivating. We loved it – do yourselves a favour whether local or visitor and book on a tour ! Thank you Katina – great tour

Extremely informative walk around the city visiting many sites and learning about the history behind special icons as well as the early white settlement of Adelaide and the first indigenous people of the area.
Diana was a wonderful guide. From listening to her I got a good understanding of local city neighbourhoods which I got to further explore later.

Katina runs a very professional guided walk. It was an energetic three hours while never seeming rushed. Katina has certainly studied her subject – her home town, Adelaide – which adds authority to her enthusiastic presentation. Thoroughly enjoyable and set us up for our 4 days in charming Adelaide

I visited the beautiful city of Adelaide in May, early fall, as all the leaves were turning colors. It really is the City of Festivals and Arts. The month long History Festival, and the 10 day Taste of Australia Event were both happening at the time of my visit.

I wanted the perspective of a local guide so I found a well reviewed (and woman led) company called Flamboyance Tours.

The F Factor: This 1st tour was a short visit to the shopping district to taste the famous Haigh’s chocolates and we were introduced to the early ornate shopping arcades still gracing this city. We then went on to a substantial tour of the delicious goodies at the bustling local Central Market which was full of local produce. Andrea, our guide did a very good job on the histories of the local merchants and she also introduced us to many delicacies!

Iconic Adelaide Tour: The 2nd tour was led by the owner Katina, who has a journalism background and has trained in Europe on tour guiding. She was super knowledgeable and was able to provide deep details when asked. The tour starts with some of the earliest structures in Adelaide, namely the Mounted Police barracks and Armoury established in 1838. What mostly amazed me was how many women were prominent in governing, social services and academic roles in Adelaide. Their statues are all along North Terrace and are there as proof. I LIKE this city ! A most welcoming place for ALL….

We did the F Factor walking tour today as part of a cruise ship shore excursion. Katina was there to meet everyone on time and introduced herself. The tour was excellent, Katina was awesome and informative. The tour lived up to expectations with lots of samples tried and tasted. Would thoroughly recommend this tour. Enjoyed the cruise & commentary. We booked 10am & that worked well with then fitting in other things for the day. Booking was easy & instructions worked well. I enjoyed the old photos. Getting off at the zoo worked well as we walked back through the Botanical Park & Gardens. Adelaide put on a beautiful day too. Thank-you! Captain following swans was a hit too as l we come up from Melbourne to see swans!

Fantastic experience not only for my grandchildren but also for the adults aboard the river cruise. The “Captain” was terrific – absolutely across the history and current news of the area. I learnt so much about my own “backyard” as did the children. The crew were extremely personable yet professional, funny and entertaining. The Captain kept all aboard totally engaged throughout the 45 minute tour. My seven year old grandson wanted to join the following cruise to go again! We will definitely be buying vouchers as gifts for friends and family. A classic example of forgetting what we have in our own backyard. It made me proud to be a South Australian! Congratulations on a premium tourism experience (I used to be an Australian Tourism Awards judge in a past life so I can say that!). Have to give the nearby Home Ground cafe/restaurant a big shout out too for great coffee and al fresco lunch after the cruise. Thank you for making the day such a memorable experience for my grandchildren and me!

The cruise was an all-round pleasant experience with a terrific crew in James & Flynn who were friendly, efficient & helpful. James’ commentary was wonderfully informative and delivered in a natural style as though he was telling a story which mattered to him and not just reciting a script. We had a thoroughly enjoyable morning while learning a lot about Adelaide & the Torrens River. The scones, jam & cream of the Devonshire Tea made the whole experience even more worthwhile. Thoroughly recommended!!

Booked a Popeye River cruise through GetYourGuide and was not disappointed. Although the cruise is brief with 40 ish minutes ($26 pp) we enjoyed it a lot. It provides a good insight for people who haven’t seen anything of Adelaide yet. The boat was really cute and the 2 man crew was very lovely. I believe we had captain Sam and helping hand Flynn in charge of us. We loved the commentary and the jokes from the captain.
There is a bar on board to purchase snacks and drinks from.
We had absolutely stunning weather for our cruise.
People did not have to have pre purchased tickets; it is also possible to purchase tickets on site where the boat docks at Elder Park.
Many thanks for the lovely tour ️

Wow, what an awesome experience and the perfect way to end our vacation. It was so enjoyable, relaxing, fun and educational, I’d do it every week if I lived there, just for the therapeutic experience alone. The captain/host/tour guide was entertaining, knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely a must-do when you’re in Adelaide. Absolutely loved the Radalaide Walking Hidden Bar Tour – a definite 5-star experience! Ryan was an incredible guide, full of knowledge, charm, and a great sense of humour. He introduced us to some of the most quaint and classy hidden bars tucked away in Adelaide – places we’d never have found on our own. It was a perfect mix of good drinks, great company, and fascinating stories about Adelaide’s rich bar scene and history.

Along the way, we also got to admire some beautiful and incredibly talented street art that we’d normally walk straight past in our everyday busy lives. It was such a refreshing reminder to slow down and actually take in the creativity around us. I know I’ll personally be paying much more attention to it now and giving it the appreciation it deserves.

What made the night even more special was meeting a bunch of interesting people and sharing this unique experience together. I won’t spoil it by naming the bars – that’s part of the magic. Just take the time to join Ryan on this adventure. You might even learn a little secret about him… or realize you know him!

Highly, highly recommended. Do yourself a favour and book this tour – you won’t regret it!

This is absolutely a must-do in Adelaide! We were only in Adelaide for 36 hours so decided to do a walking tour to get a feel for the city. Dax is the perfect tour guide – enthusiastic, engaging, informative, funny & very knowledgeable – I don’t think there was a question about Adelaide that he couldn’t answer!

This tour is really well balanced in terms of the distance we walked, allowing time for pauses to take photos, and a stop for snacks. 100% recommend for anyone spending time in Adelaide. I only wish we’d had more time in the city so we could go back to explore some of the places we passed by in more detail. Thank you Dax!

The 8 day Uluṟu to Adelaide tour was an incredible immersion for our family of 5 into the history & culture of Australia. Hannah, our guide, was warm, engaging, knowledgeable and seamlessly coordinated our beautiful outback adventure.
The trip was chock-a-block full of sunsets, sunrises, hikes, wildlife, swag sleeping under the stars & campfire’s with story telling and cracking laughter.
8 amazing days of stunning scenery & building a closer connection to both country & our tour family.
It’s an impossible task to name a singular highlight, but the deeply spiritual indigenous cultural tour with John in the Flinders Rangers will stay with us forever. Thank you Hannah & Untamed for an unforgettable experience… it far exceeded our expectations!

What an incredible experience adventuring with Dan and Marianne from Uluru to Adelaide. They were the first up and the last to bed every day, Marianne making sure and extra sure for our Vegetarian that we had such great meals and snacks and helping everyone whenever she saw their need. Dan drove us capably and safely all those kilometres and went to so much trouble to make all our experiences fascinating and valuable with his deep knowledge and insights. I recommend this energetic and caring pair, putting us first at every opportunity and making sure everything went smoothly during rain events and necessary changes of plans. This trip exceeded our expectations because of Dan and Marianne’s efforts. My swag and sleeping bag were cosy and comfortable and this was a special element of the trip. The price for this trip is exceptionally good value. I strongly recommend it.

It fulfilled many dreams of a lifetime.

I’ve done the Adelaide-Perth Tour and it was great.
Even though there were some long drives, our group had fun. The activities were also great, you could always choose, how far you actually want to go.
The camping areas were good, as well as the swags.
The guide Brendan was also a really funny and patient guy, who told us a lot of stories about that area. Also he chose really good food, that everyone enjoyed making and eating.
I highly recommend that company.

Did the Kangaroo Island 3 day camping tour. Our guide was Brendan and he was really great. Funny, engaging and a wealth of knowledge.
My wife and I had a really fun time.
Some improvements I would make:
1/ even though there was wine tasting advertised in the itinerary introduction there was no wine tasting. Several of us were waiting for it to happen when we were told it was time to leave. We wanted to buy wine so we and the locals lost out. We would have paid for tasting ourselves if we knew it was not included.
2. I would suggest having some tents available for couples or for those who find swags a little claustrophobic. I enjoyed the swag on the second night that was good weather but the first night was wet and I didn’t like it.
3. The bus ride from Adelaide to Port Jervis and back was extremely uncomfortable for me. I don’t usually get motion sickness but both times I was feeling queasy. Maybe the bus driver needs to drive to the conditions. Speed limit is a maximum not a literal instruction
4. The facilities at camp happiness are pretty filthy. Cobwebs, spiders and dust everywhere. The toilets smelt really bad.
the van that we rode in on KI was very dirty too until my wife cleaned it.

This tour was one of the best things I’ve done in my time in Australia. We started in Adelaide and travelled through some really amazing places in a slept on South Australia to Uluru. The tour was really well organised, with so much to do it was busy but also really relaxed. Cost of the tour may seem high but with most food included we spent very little for the week! We got to see the most unique landscapes and wildlife in a lovely small group setting. The camping facilities were great and the swags comfy. The food provided was amazing with plenty of variety unlike other tours I’ve been on. The standout of the tour was our guide Jack.He went above and beyond at all times for us to answer the most difficult questions we threw at him! He was extremely informative and passionate, which made the tour a real experience rather than just a trip to see the sights. He was really conscious of repeating customs and traditions in sacred areas and passionate about leaving no trace and conservation in national parks which is important to me. He was brilliant with any issues and most importantly was a great laugh and we all had so much fun. I would highly recommend untamed and Jack for a real once in lifetime experience.

Our group were visiting from Perth & we only had a day and a half in Adelaide and we couldn’t have chosen a better tour to go on or had a better guide (Dave) to take in all the Barossa had to offer.
The wineries we went to in the morning were very generous with their wine tastings, so accomodating and made us feel so so welcome! At our second winery we completed the visit with a grazing board lunch which was very plentiful and left us all rolling out of there! We managed a scenic stop in the gorgeous little town of Tununda and even managed to squeeze a stop into the chocolate factory. We then moved onto the gin distillery and finished up at a brewery which we were lucky enough had a wine tasting going on at the same time so we got to try even more locally produced wine!
We had an absolute ball of a a day and couldn’t recommend this tour enough! Thank you so much Dave, if I ever come back to Adelaide I’ll definitely be doing this tour again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our day through the Barossa Valley on the Food and Wine tour. Our driver, Steve was very informative and we had lots of fun. Just as a tour should be. We visited Pindarie Winery which was one of the favourites for the day and then a stroll through the townships of Tanunda. Up to Mengler’s Lookout and then a beautiful 2 course lunch at Lamberts Estate Winery. Food and wine were delicious. Then onto Chateau Tanunda for a tour through the wine making process and the history of Chateau Tanunda. Last but not least onto Maggie Beers farm for a nice coffee and a walk through their shop. What a picturesque drive down Seppeltfield Rd past lots of vineyards. What a beautiful part of South Australia to visit.

PS: The only suggestion I would make to the itinerary is to shift the Mt Lofty Summit part to maybe more during sunset (on the way back) rather than midday for a more spectacular view and more favourable lighting conditions.

This is one of the best food tours ever !! We have travelled extensively and had food tours in Singapore , Copenhagen ,Bologna, Delhi and San Francisco to name a few but Broni’s tour of the market was exceptional ! The place is a food lovers dream and Broni was so knowledgable about the history of the market and had arranged tastings that were different and delicious . The market stall holders we met were so passionate about their product and we tasted a whole range of local foods and some amazing indigenous ingredients which as Brits we had never seen before . Cannot recommend highly enough – just do it !

Our tour was an ‘off train experience’ on our Indian Pacific rail journey last month. We loved it. Bridie was able to provide some fascinating history about some of the market stallholders that go back generations with tasty sample treats along the way. Our market tour was well paced, fun and informative.

Had fun, learnt a lot and had some good tastings along the way. Opened my eyes to what’s available at the market, can’t wait to go to the market again and try even more stuff. Tour guide was super nice, would recommend others to give it a go.

I had a fantastic experience with Sealink Kangaroo Island tours! Staying in Cape Jervis made catching the ferry super convenient. Once we arrived in Penneshaw, everything was well-organized, and our tour guide, Dave, was incredible—friendly, knowledgeable, and funny! He shared so many interesting facts about Australia and Kangaroo Island.

I planned the tour to include Seal Bay, Raptor Domain (for a close encounter with koalas), and Flinders Chase National Park to see the Remarkable Rocks. We had plenty of time to explore and enjoy these stunning locations. Dave also made stops at scenic viewpoints, which added to the experience.

I highly recommend this tour for families and friends. I’ll definitely be back to spend more time exploring the beauty of Kangaroo Island!

What a beautiful relaxing paddle along the Harriet river. Thanks to Jaydon for being such a knowledgeable guide. We learned so much about the plant life – especially after the bushfires and discovering how the plants recover. Also great to have his sharp eye point out koalas, and spot and learn about the birds on the river

Em (Emily) was an excellent tour guide. Our family all enjoyed quad biking. It was easy to learn and safe. We all had a lot of fun and our son wished we had booked a longer tour. She also took the time to take many photos for us which was lovely.

Tour Context: 1st tour for K.I. Adventure Tours after the 2019/2020 bushfires on Kangaroo Island. Tour dates were 17&18th/Jan/2020.

Pros:
– Felt safe at all times during the tour (bushfires were contained to the North West of the island, which Jen, the tour guide informed us very early on)
– Got a non standard experience of K.I. we as a tour picked up an injured koala (from the bushfires) and transported him in the tour trailer to the Parndana Wildlife Park. A special thanks to the locals who handled and treated the koala.
– Pricing was very good. Tour was $473 all up (includes accommodation) not including souvenirs. If you were to do K.I. in your own car it’s ~$300 return trip (taking a car onto the ferry). That’s not including driving to and from Cape Jervis and driving on K.I. itself. Not including accommodation either.
– 2 day tour is perfect for a weekend away.
– The tour was fast paced and exciting. Sometimes a little too fast, but that was mainly due to backtracking because a few roads were still closed due to weakened roadside trees from the bushfires. We were informed by the tour guide, that K.I. plans to reopen all the roads within a couple of months time to help the tourism industry again.
– I highly doubt you would get such a full experience of K.I. in a weekend if you were to go by yourself.
– Locals were all lovely people to communicate with and very friendly.
– Very age friendly. Whatever your age, you should be able to join in on most activities.
– Wonderful beaches, wonderful beaches everywhere.

Cons:
– (very minor) Tour was a bit too fast at times. Jen did her best to reorganise the tour around the bushfires and the road closures which unfortunately put a squeeze on us for the second day. We persevered and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip!
– (very minor) Because of the bushfires/closed roads we did miss things such as Remarkable Rocks / Admirals Arch & Vivonne Bay accommodation (unfortunately burn’t in the bushfires). There was easily enough to see and do even with these subtractions, especially over a weekend.

Who I’d recommend this tour to: Anyone who wants a full experience of K.I. in a short time frame / without using up annual leave and a reasonable price.

Thanks Jen!

A visit to Adelaide Gaol offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. The site provides a powerful and reflective experience, detailing a significant period in South Australia’s history. It’s a remarkable way to understand the judicial system and the lives of those incarcerated within its walls.

The detailed exhibits and informative displays showcase the prison’s operation and the realities faced by inmates. The building’s architecture and preserved spaces create a compelling and thought-provoking atmosphere, making it a worthwhile destination for anyone interested in historical preservation and understanding social development.

Visited the Gaol as part of Adelaide Fringe for the escape room. I love that entry to the Gaol is included in the ticket, usually $17 for adults.

The Gaol has loads of information and exhibits, so you can learn a lot as you go round. The map provided is also very handy, as it has a suggested route with arrows, like IKEA.

Highly recommended for a few hours

Rather visit than stay but gave a great insight into the hell you’d have to endure back in the day. Death by hanging was well documented so this place isn’t fir the skirmish

Had this on our bucket list for Adelaide and glad we did! The Adelaide Gaol is amazing to visit – didn’t realise it was a working prison until 1988 and operational for nearly 150 years. Lots to take in so recommend reading the info boards located throughout. The kids found it interesting and a great way to explain right from wrong. Highly recommend.

I took my 11 and 9 year old son on the twilight tour and we had a great time. Jo was a fantastic guide and you could tell that she loves her job as a guide. There were only seven of us in the group which made it even better. My kids were able to ask questions about the gaol and how punishment and medical procedure was dished out. I highly recommend this tour as not only we experienced life as it was in the gaol, but also some insight into the history of South Australia. The ambience of the place at night is also fantastic.

I have done a number of lock in ghost investigations with Allyson as the guide. I am part of a paranormal group. It has always been a wonderful adventure finding which places are going to have more activity at the time. Not all activity looks or acts or responds the same. Last night 5th July was exceptional. Although the numbers of people locked in were few in number. Guided superbly by Allyson once again.

This was an interesting and fun experience with a history lesson included, all in the dark so make sure your phone has enough battery life for the torch. The time passed really fast. It was a bit strange knowing you were waking on an actual cemetery and as much fun as it was, it was sobering to see the awful conditions of those times. Well worth a visit
