Best campings in Adelaide: find options near you

If i could give more than 5 stars I seriously would. This is by far the best caravan park I’ve ever been to. It has a few BBQ areas, 2 impressive playgrounds with a flying fox, a pool, a water-play area, a jumping pillow, an arcade room, a communal fire pit, as well as some gas heaters around outdoor tables. The best part though is their activities room where they host multiple events throughout each day like movies, bingo, trivia, and kids activities like cooking and crafts classes. You could easily stay here for days without leaving the campsite. It’s a nice big campsite that’s well kept, full of trees, bright green grass and modern clean buildings. And as an added bonus, its beach side.

We had the absolutely most incredible time at West Beach! The park is so lovely! Very well maintained & the facilities were fantastic! There is so much for kids to do & everything is so well maintained! The staff were incredibly friendly! While the bathroom blocks were older & in need of repairs they were always spotless! We will absolutely be back!

Great park with unlimited facilities for children and adults alike. Right on the water but rates are significantly lower than other regions of Australia!! Facilities are kept in good order even with the significant child traffic. Walking distance (5 min) to the West Beach Surf Club. Well done West Beach!!

Superb caravan park. We stayed in our van and a friend had a cabin. The cabin was neat, clean and well equipped. Spacious van sites with some drive-throughs. Clean amenities, bathrooms for disabled, laundry. Wonderful facilities for children – pool, jumping pillow, activity room and playground. The park has secure fencing all around and provide swipe cards for gate access and access to bathrooms. The park is right beside the beach. Ten minute drive to Harbour Town and there is a courtesy bus from the park at 10am to Harbour Town each Wednesday morning returning at 1pm. Small coffee shop just outside the park with a small variety of groceries, milk etc. and gas bottle exchange.
We’ve had a cracking stay and would definitely stay again.

Fantastic place to stay, clean and wonderful facilities. Pool was clean but a bit cold. Caravan sites are big and concrete which was great. Really accommodating for children. Really one of the best parks we have found. Even in school holidays it was quiet and with facilities spread out it didn’t feel busy. Everything was well sign posted and it just felt like a well oiled machine. Highly recommend.

A great place for families and close to Harbour town. The shack cafe is ok but our fish and chips were ordinary as the chips were almost cold and not freshly cooked. The fish upset my stomach to the point where I nearly vomited. The laundry facilities need fixing as there’s only a couple of machines working and others not working the whole time we stayed there. It’s not really good enough with the amount of people staying at the park and how much it costs to stay. Obviously maintenance is not high on their agenda! I would consider not staying here again in the future.

This park is very clean and tidy. The powered site for our RV had an ensuite (which worked well) and it was a roomy site. Shame about the crazy weather, but the park looks like it has heaps of facilities for a family. It is very close to the airport which is handy and not far out from the central city.

Amazing, worked here when it was the resort and discovery has made it a truly amazing place. Can’t wait to come back, fantastic for kids also. Rooms are super clean but was a bit bummed we couldn’t fish as the kids were so hyped to just sit on the dock and cast a line.

We have stayed here 3 times now and it just gets better. Had a drive through sites for our little vintage van. The whole site is amazing, staff so friendly and accommodating. The Camp kitchen is just Theee best we have ever been two. We decided with it being winter we would utilise it. Great heater the best equipment ever. We will be back

Great room, has heating for winter and air con for summer, which is great. It’s quite a large park, clean and lots to do for the kids, and big kids.
The only thing I would be picky about is there needs to be more than 1 chair in the room we were in as well as a bedside table. But everything else was great. Very handy location with beautiful Hahndorf close by.

My partner, our son and myself just stayed for the weekend and fell in love with the park. We were given a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom unit and it was wonderful. The room was clean and cosy. The heaters were even turned on for our arrival which was very welcomed as it was a chilly evening. There was plenty of coffee/tea/hot chocolate/sugar. We had a little wander around the park and thought the camp kitchen was the best one we’ve ever seen! Loved the ponds and the ducks and rabbits wandering around. We will definitely be back!

We stayed 4 nights in a powered site. The admin staff were really good, going the extra mile to extend our stay. Such good service!
The whole park is so neat and clean. There are so many maintenance crews keeping everything pristine. The management team should be congratulated on a job well done.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️||Our camping experience at Hahndorf Discovery Park has been absolutely outstanding! The amenities, staff, and overall presentation are all top notch. We originally booked for 4 nights but ended up extending our stay because we loved it so much.||The park has been the perfect base for our day trips to Adelaide, Victor Harbor, the Barossa, and of course, exploring the beautiful town of Hahndorf itself.||We’re now heading to the Yorke Peninsula, but I have a feeling this stay at Discovery Parks will be hard to beat. I 100% recommend staying here!

The location is a big plus, and the staff were super friendly. We rented a powered site at a reasonable price, and the public facilities were spotless. Full marks from me The overall environment was excellent with well-planned layouts. The outdoor BBQ area was great, and the indoor kitchen even had a self-serve coffee machine ($2.5–$3). Everything felt fantastic — I highly recommend this place

We loved our stay at Belair. Beautiful walks with native animals and a peaceful spot. The cabin was clean, up to date, comfy beds/pillows with everything you could need.
Peaceful and nice and quiet at night.
Groundsmen and cleaners keep the park beautiful looking. Lovely walking trails in Belair National Park with lots of Kookaburras, one Emu and a Koala.We plan to return regularly for a getaway with our dog

We had a wonderful time staying in a 2 bedroom cabin. Traveling from South Africa meant that we had limited supplies but the cabin was well equipped and had everything we needed. The location is great as it is only a few minutes from the city but you also feel like you are enjoying the ruralness of the hills. We will definitely be back.

We took our french bulldog to SASH for surgery and Belair Holiday Park was one of the few places in Adelaide that were pet friendly. It was great. Chanel loved walking the park lands, the park was quiet, the cabins spotless, and the direct booking was seamless. We will be back again with our little girl but for holiday next time, not a veterinary visit

Absolutely loved our stay. Our cabin was immaculately clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. The park was beautiful, with lots of open space and Kangaroos and koalas right next door in the National Park.

Great place to stay. Access to the National Park walks. Close and central to Adelaide, the Beaches, McLarenVale, Hahndorf, the Barossa and Clare Valleys. All in a very picturesque location.

We loved it here. No complaints at all. We were a group of 3 and stayed in a superior cabin which overlooked the pool. Roomy cabin, beautiful surrounds, and the staff/owners are lovely. Very quiet place to stay that’s not too far out of town. Bonus if you’re a runner and want to participate in parkrun on Saturday morning, as it starts from right next door.

We canceled a B&B booking and decided to go with a caravan park instead and tow our home behind is.|We couldn’t be happier with our choice as this park is fantastic and has direct beach access for those afternoon walks. Pet friendly is a bonus so we could bring along our little girl. Our ensuite site is tucked away in the back corner and is just perfect and quiet.|We would highly recommend especially for families and if we’re ever in the area in the future we will definitely stay again

I stayed this week with a last minute booking. Having a small dog, inevitably we have limited options but, the 1980’s un-refurbished cabin, with three different types of vinyl on the floors, a kitchen oven which looks like it would blow up and, a bed so old it sinks in the night.||But the bigger issue is around the way they make up policies including taking photos of ID’s on a personal mobile phone for guests arriving after hours. This is a company that has access to online check-in apps, secure and convenient but won’t pay for them making after hours check in a nightmare.||I made my booking on the day, checked the website and understood things based on the information available. Within an hour of making the booking the first call came through, not to thank me for booking, not to welcome me, but to ask what time I was arriving (this info was already supplied). When I mentioned 5.30pm, I was told I couldn’t check in at that time (despite the website showing I could check in till 7pm). I was told I had to pay a $200 deposit (not mentioned online) and, present my ID on arrival and must arrive by 5pm. ||My instinct was to cancel, I wish I had done that, at least this would have meant my data would be secure.||I called back and said I couldnt get there till 5.30pm, they agreed I could pay the ‘surprise’ deposit by card over the phone. No doubt my card details and CVV were written down and probably now in the SA tip.||When I arrived, I showed my ID, the staff member refused to accept it unless she took a photo, when I refused to allow this, she refused to give me the key. At no point was I advised that some random team member would be wanting to take a photo of my ID, on an insecure device before arriving… it isn’t 2010 – surely G’Day would have learnt something from all the data hacks going on but no, its either there way or you sleep on the street.||This is obviously a property that has problems with junkies and crack ho’s, to demand a security deposit only for same day bookings indicates they are trying to avoid issues. If this was known upfront, it wouldn’t have been an issue but, my issue is about making up policies not displayed and then saying ‘they are standard’. ||If a policy is standard, then it would be listed. If G’day have no concerns about the safety of guest information being recorded on private mobile phones… I would be surprised.||Won’t be back – cabin was old and out of date, staff lacked empathy and the business lacks even the most basic of professional standards when it comes to data protection.

We recently stayed on a powered caravan site for 2 nights with our kids. The site was really tiny despite providing van dimensions. We were unable to have our awning extended fully as our van and car wouldn’t fit. All of our neighbours had the same issue. The waste water drain was blocked with neighbours just letting waste water run onto grass. My husband managed to unblock it. The site was dirty, someone had obviously cut their hair on the site and it hadn’t been blower vacuumed, as I have little ones that like to crawl on lawn I found this really gross and it wasn’t a little bit of hair it was clumps. All of these issues were identified shortly after checking in so it was clear nothing had been done to prepare the site. Also people are allowed to smoke on site? I don’t know if this is normal but it was very off putting having our neighbours second hand smoke coming in our van. I checked the smoking situation with reception and they said it was fine to smoke. On a positive note the location is good, check in was fast and easy, amenities were very clean.

Great location in Adelaide, beach just out back gate and bike path that runs along beach. Amenities clean, park well presented and very quiet. Only on let down is sites are good size but very tight to get into. We have stayed before and it is our perfered place to stay when in Adelaide with the van. I do recommend this park

Very disappointed in the accommodation we were placed in. The cabin which was pet friendly but far from human friendly absolutely stunk of cigarettes. Air condition remote held together with electrical tape.
Floors were filthy covered in sand and the blanket in main bedroom was filthy. Cigarette butts laying on ground outside cabin. Four guest but beds were not made in bunk room which we found very poor service. There was no toaster in kitchen.
I would never recommend this park to stay and I couldn’t wait to get out of there to the next accommodation so I could have a shower and wash my clothes which by the way smelt of cigarettes as well. Shame on you Discovery Park Semaphore. We’ve always in the past had good experiences.

I stay here often, and have to say it’s the best caravan park I’ve stayed at. Always clean, well-maintained, well-designed modern units, and generous with free upgrades in off-peak season. Fantastic place to stay.

We absolutely love this caravan park! It’s truly one of the most amazing places to stay when visiting Adelaide. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with stunning views that instantly set a relaxing and peaceful tone for your stay. The location is perfect — with beautiful shops and a variety of restaurants just a short walk away, you have everything you need right at your fingertips.

One of the best features has to be the beach, which is literally right in front of your door. There’s something incredibly special about waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying a stroll along the shoreline whenever you please. Whether you’re into swimming, fishing, or just soaking up the sun, the beach access adds so much to the overall experience.

The service at the caravan park is exceptional. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, which makes you feel welcome and well cared for. Plus, the amenities are consistently clean and well-maintained, which is such an important factor when you’re staying away from home.

The caravan sites themselves are spacious and spotless, providing plenty of room for comfortable living and relaxation. Another huge plus is the special saving deals they offer, making the stay not only enjoyable but also great value for money.

What a fantastic position right on the beach. We got to our cabin (Seabreeze villa 13) and the views were amazing. Views of the water from the verandah and the lounge area of the cabin. |The cabin had everything we needed for our stay, was clean,comfortable and roomy. |There is a cafe ( fantastic coffee and chai) one side of the park and a surf life savers club the other side. |There is a sealed path along the beach which was fantastic for our morning walks. |The only downside was we found the park to be very dark for our evening walk around the park. |Would definitely recommend this park, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing pet friendly caravan park. Fantastic location to shops and clubs. The park has clean and modern amenities, large powered sites, well equipped camp kitchens with stunning views of the sunsets.|Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. We loved our stay at Brighton Beach. The friendly welcoming staff made you feel very comfortable. The amenities were always spotless and the location is the best. With 2 clubs 50m away and a cafe at the front what else could you ask for. We had dinner at the Surf club twice and the food and staff there were amazing too.

We had a fantastic 10 night stay in an ocean view cabin, left for a week in Brisbane and we then returned for 3 nights on our way back.||We booked the park as we were visit relatives at near by Marino so the location was perfect. The cabins were really clean and the site itself is very well maintained.||We made use of the laundry and our teens enjoyed the free crazy golf. ||The staff were so welcoming and friendly. We arrived late on a flight from Dubai and they had thoughtfully left the heating on for us. They also tracked me down really quickly to reunite me and my kindle that I had accidentally left behind on check out.||The nest Kiosk is fantastic for breakfast or grabbing a smoothie for a walk along the beach. We ate 3 times at the surf club and each time the food was lovely and the staff really welcoming so would definitely recommend for a meal when staying. ||Will definitely return when back in Adelaide.

Great location and friendly reception. We booked an Ocean View Cabin for one night and were enjoying our stay until we went to bed only to find sand in the sheets at the bottom of the bed. I can only assume that the sheets hadn’t been changed from previous guests. I attempted to contact management but have not had any response.
Pretty disappointing.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The villa cabin had a view of the ocean which we were lucky to have. Putt Putt golf with my girls was fun and my mum and girls enjoyed walking to the Seacliffe Hotel for lunch. |The cabin was very clean and roomy; I highly recommend this park. We will be back!

We camped here for a few nights such an awesome campground. The amenities were clean and tidy the staff Laurie and his wife were great to deal with. We even caught fish off the jetty highly recommend this campground. We will be back for sure.

Just had a 50th event at Rapid Bay & needed to camp overnight. We met Laurie & Ray, who are the new campground managers ( barely a week in the new role ) They were nothing short of amazing & understanding of our needs & requirements for the weekend. I have to admit that it was a quieter than usual weekend down there, which did help in what they were able to provide, but they went above & beyond to help us ( & our family & friends) to make camping there, a wonderful experience. Can’t thank them enough.

Extremely popular. Crammed. Flushing toilets are provided. The beach spots are premium. We were there for two nights, and were able to get spots, with our friends, next door to each other, and the next day grab a couple of spots across the road on the beach. We were late in the afternoon arriving, but before 5pm. There doesn’t seem to be any etiquette when it comes to moving about, as people just seem to walk straight through your campsite, even over our ground sheet outside our van. At least they weren’t gawping through our windows on the rare occasions we were inside, I suppose. There is no dumping point, or water available at the site.

Good value for money, the water is lovely to swim in and beautiful scenery.

I stayed on a Friday night and I think because of that it was a lot busier and people were up late making noise, but not to the point I couldn’t get to sleep. Also, I couldn’t find any taps to get water from. If they were around, they weren’t very visible. Non-allocated sites I got there late and had to camp in the sun. Not a lot of shade.

Overall enjoyed my experience and would return.

Nice campground but over priced for lack of amenities here. You pay for the location by the water. There is a toilet block and public BBQs (two) available. No showers and no potable drinking water. Council owned and operated, we saw police and other patrol the campground so it’s safe and keeps everyone in check from unruly behaviour. I also checked and it’s 100% OK (but on the disgusting side) to let your grey water release onto the ground at the campground.

Well, you can’t get any closer to the ocean. On our 2 night stay the ocean was like a millpond. Amazingly flat water over 2 days. Couldn’t have asked for better weather. Although there aren’t any sites layed out it all seems to work out. Great spot for a self sufficient camping break as there is no power or water except for the toilet block which has non potable water so you need to bring your own. Closest shop is at Delamere, around 10km away.

The staff are friendly and very welcoming, happy to help in any way.
The property and facilities are clean, tidy and in excellent condition and in close proximity to the hospital and Marion Shopping Centre.
A great place to stay.

Had a lovely stay here, such a great little park. This park has everything from indoor/outdoor pools, water park, large games room, court, playground and jumping pillow. So much on offer for the kids. The nightly movies in the outdoor cinema were perfect for anytime with heating available. And the staff were great, so friendly and helpful. Such a great park.
Just remember to lock your car as its an open park and unfortunately this silly billy didn’t check her car was locked on the last night.

This was the perfect holiday destination with our grandchildren. Our apartment was excellent overlooking the pool, it was clean and well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful.
All areas were well maintained, lots of fun for the kids going from pools to jumpy castle, playgrounds and indoor area with the bowling alley a hit. We could not fault anything and great cafe with good coffee and other produce available. Well worth the visit and hope to return in the near future.

Great spot for a family getaway! The park has a real holiday vibe with heaps of trees and greenery, which makes it feel peaceful and relaxed. Our kids loved the playgrounds, jumping pillow, and climbing equipment — plus there’s loads of space for scooters and bikes. Big win there.

The indoor heated pool, outdoor pool, and small waterpark with a slide were a hit. We didn’t use the public toilets/showers ourselves, but others said they were clean.

We stayed in a cabin — overall good. Bit of wear and tear but nothing unexpected. They use wristbands instead of keys for access to the pool and other areas, which was a cool touch.

There’s also an indoor tennis court and a games room (some games cost a few bucks), and the outdoor cinema with bean bags was a nice bonus for the kids. On-site café/bar was handy for snacks and drinks.

Laundry was $5 a wash, which felt a bit pricey, and there were only four clotheslines we could find — not heaps considering the size of the park. Also, seems like they charge for visitors to enter the park, which might catch some people off guard.

Nice BBQ setups with proper dining space, and there’s EV charging plus plenty of extra parking out the front.

All up, a great stay for families — we’d definitely come back.

Amazing for families, feels like a resort. Stayed on a site. Only disappointed in sites are a little small but for a couple of days stay it’s fine, wouldn’t be able to stay for long periods on a small site. The place is perfectly clean with modern amenities. Pools are lovely splash park was fun for the kids and the games room with bowling was a lovely touch. I would stay again.

Facilities top notch and so well maintained and cleaned. Staff go above and beyond and our autistic son is loving his first stay here and building more memories as we explore caravaning. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and value for money of the food on offer. We have 8 nights left and our son will make the most of every minute here. Shout out to the amazing crew who helped us get caravan into a tight spot blown away by how helpful and welcoming they were. We love the vibe of this amazing venue!!

Well signed trails and plenty to choose from. Stunning views and usually not too busy. Highly recommend the Echidna trail if you want to see one in the wild.

Well signed trails, very easy to find rock climbing, beautiful area to spend couple of days hiking and rock climbing! No parks pass needed!

Lovely park and heaps of bush walking. Keep doing a different track each time I visit.

It’s a huge and beautiful place to explore. Both hiking and mountain biking.

Most of it is easy for the family and there is definitely challenging trails for the more experienced.

There is wildlife galore and also in the right spots, at the right time, some of the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises amongst the trees. Plus it’s really not far out from the suburbs, amazing

The Onkaparinga river’s a beautiful place to take the kayak out. Just check the tides and wind before you go as high tides best and a strong wind across the water can really spoil your paddle. There’s plenty of flora and fauna for an estuary in the suburbs. For the majority of the length of the river you don’t notice the hustle and bustle other than the three bridges that cross above as you paddle through to Old Noarlunga. There’s a few accessible launch spots on the rivers edge and a well kept park with new toilets at A.S Perry Reserve close to the newly restored wetlands.

Fantastic hiking destination offering a variety of trails. My GPS led us to various starting points, adding to the adventure. If you appreciate Australia’s stunning landscapes and wildlife and enjoy exploring beyond the city, I highly recommend visiting this National Park.

Great quiet location out of the way of traffic noise and roads. Park like surrounds and a lovely mountain valley. So happy to finally find a place to get a good nice sleep in Adelaide. Cabins do need upgrading. There is investment in other areas of the parks infrastructure. Housekeeping does need to pick its act up though. Lots of cleaning failures in the cabin I rented. Good choices of accommodation types to choose from.

We stayed in a powered site, lovely artificial grassed area to pull our van up to. Incredibly beautiful time of year to visit as all the autumn leaves filled the park. As others have mentioned although you are 15 minutes from the CBD you wouldn’t know it. Staff were friendly, attentive and facilities were clean. Nice little playground for our daughter, trendy little cafe on site. Family orientated and pet friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

Had a very disappointing experience with this caravan park. On our last day/night we had left the park for an outing and received a call that our dog was left off a lead. I asked as we were out if someone could put our dog on a lead for us as it was inconvenient for us to come back, however if they couldn’t for whatever reason we would return to do so. Twenty minutes later we received a call saying they couldn’t find a lead (even though it was there) and also advised us we had been reported for animal cruelty for leaving our dogs without water. We returned to the park to put our dog on a lead. Luckily our dog is well trained and stayed at our campsite, however I fear what may have happened with a different pet who was not trained as they were left next to a road. If anyone GENUINELY cared about my pet they would not have left my dog near a road or they would have left a bowl of water. I suspect this did not happen because a) after someone bothered to go to our campsite they saw my dogs were left with water, food, a bed and shade or b) nothing happened because no one cared about the welfare of my dog and rather just wanted to dob us in for a fine. I found this to be an extremely strange experience from a caravan park. We’re quite seasoned traveler’s and have stayed in many caravan parks and generally find the staff/owners to be very helpful and family oriented so this was an extremely strange and awful experience. I think the staff must’ve realised they made a mistake as they granted us a refund quite quickly after claiming they couldn’t provide our refund for the final night. We have chosen to leave early as we are disappointed in this park and personally quite hurt they think we’ve left our pets without water. If you’re considering staying here, I would suggest looking for an alternate park with better values and care for all their customers.

Lovely park with great staff. Flat van sites and easy access to bathroom facilities. It’s only 7 minutes to Adelaide CBD so it makes a great base for traveling around the area. We had lunch at the small cafe on the premises but its a bit expensive for what we got.

Occupied a powered caravan site. The park is on the fringe of Adelaide, so not far to a shopping centre, yet we are in a bush like setting. Nice walks and coffee shop on site. Getting expensive now coming into warmer weather.

If you’re looking for a truly Aussie experience, look no further than Brownhill Creek Caravan Park. I’d give it five stars if for nothing else than the doonas – yes, they’re Australian flags! You can’t get more patriotic than curling up under the Southern Cross after a day of exploring.

Beyond the doona novelty, the park itself is clean, peaceful, and beautifully nestled in nature. You get the convenience of being close to Adelaide with the serenity of a bush setting – the best of both worlds. Whether you’re camping, caravanning, or staying in a cabin, it’s a relaxing and charming spot to unwind.

Friendly staff, well-maintained facilities, and a unique touch of national pride in the bedding? That’s a win all around. Highly recommended for travelers wanting comfort with a true Aussie twist.

Oh my what can I say about this place.
Everything was just great. Sites big. Trees bigger. Birds gorgeous. Yes amenities were good. Laundry lovely. Just stay there you’ll love it.

Could not get any other accommodation in town so even though our event was at Mitchell Park we stayed here. Cabin was lovely had everything you needed except hair-dryer. Was in the older part and apart from someone riding around on something at 10.30 pm was fine. Never stayed in this caravan park before and was pleasantly surprised. Just wish the small bathroom had a hook somewhere so you could hang clothes but they are not on their own in that department. Would stay again.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at your pretty, clean and comfortable park. From the lovely reception ladies to Jamie and all friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Will certainly recommend this park to my friends.

Have been staying here for many years and have stayed in all areas of the holiday park. Friendly staff and the rooms are very clean and spacious. Great play areas for the kids. 10 out of 10. It’s a great place to stay if you don’t want to go right into Adelaide.

Highway 1 has been so accommodating towards me, providing a pet friendly cabin for myself, cat and dog so we have somewhere warm and safe to sleep. The park is huge, it’s beautiful with lots of greenery. Considering you’re next to the expressway, you do not hear much noise at all. Cabin is tidy and clean with no lingering smells, I will 110% be back here again.

We stayed overnight on our way through to Darwin in a pet friendly cabin, the staff were very friendly, cabin was clean & comfortable. The location of the Park was so convenient & great price, would definitely stay again

Super friendly and helpful staff. We arrived late at check in, and then we mixed up our booking date. The park manager Jamie was there straight away to help sort it out.

Stayed there in our caravan, toilets cleaned regularly which was nice. Even though we were on freeway route we rarely heard traffic overnight.
