The Adelaide Central Market is such a delight! I had the sweetest cherries and the most flavorful quiche Lorraine, both absolutely unforgettable. Everything feels so fresh and made with care. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to wander, taste, and enjoy the best of Adelaide. Don’t miss the bookstore

Busy and bustling market. Lots of fresh produce, seafood, meats, veggies, fruit. Not very many places were doing samplings when I was there, and inflation certainly is healthy, especially at the little eateries inside the market. Can’t wait to see the place once the renovation is complete.

Large indoor market, with lots of things for vegans! I saw a vegan soup and vegan paella; there are nuts, breads, spices, lots of fresh produce, plus Let Them Eat, Central Organic/House of Health, Jamu, OMG! Donuts, takeaway meals by Atlas and more. (You do have to avert your eyes when passing the butchers and fish-mongers.)
There’s a flower shop and a bookshop. Some tables and chairs at one end for sitting to eat. Washrooms available. Water-bottle filling station. Recycling bin specially for pizza boxes! The Market is not open every day; see opening hours.

Chinatown is a small street between Gouger and Grote Streets next to the Central Market.
I visited on a Sunday and it was pretty quiet. There are only eateries around as far as I could tell with even more Chinese restaurants located in the surrounding streets.
This Chinatown is insignificant when compared to Sydney and Melbourne. However, if there was an event happening I’m sure that there would be a completely different atmosphere to the area.

There are no shops open as we arrived just past 9am in Chinatown. The only shop was opened is the Bread shop at the front. Later in the day we returned to Chinatown and found a lot of interesting shops and market. Highly recommended the Central Market which has different varieties of food and cafe. We loved the Portuguese custard tarts shop and it tasted very authentic.

This street is actually quite short, but the surrounding area is where the real charm is. You’ll find a wide variety of Chinese food, supermarkets, and restaurants offering all kinds of regional flavors ,from roast duck（燒臘） and beef noodle soup to hot pot and milk tea.

Parking here can be a bit difficult since it’s in the city center, but it’s right next to the Central Market, so you can easily visit both while shopping. There are so many familiar ingredients and flavors from home, making this a great spot to visit whenever you feel homesick.

A nice surprise to spot the Chinatown right in the CBD of Adelaide. Signature gates at both ends. It’s clean, full of character. A awesome place for enjoying Chinese food and culture.

The streets are bustling with a diverse array of Chinese restaurants, each offering tantalizing dishes that fill the air with enticing aromas. Colorful signs beckon passersby, while the vibrant atmosphere is further enhanced by the presence of trendy boba tea shops, where patrons gather to sip on their favorite bubble tea flavors. On busy evenings, the sidewalks can become quite crowded, with groups of friends chatting animatedly and families enjoying meals together, creating a lively, communal vibe that reflects the rich culture of the area.

It is a very short street, about one hundred meters long, only one-tenth the size of Melbourne’s Chinatown. The shops seem to be doing good business, and most of them are foreign tourists.

Great place for food, music and positive energy and atmosphere.

Something for everyone. First went there with mum and dad in 1960’s. Just love it. Moving with the times but retains it’s charm.

Central Market Flowers are beautiful bunches of flowers that can be purchased for fair prices. I really like going here and smelling all the fragrances of the fresh cut flowers. It is located in the in Adelaide Market. I really like going here and highly recommend this store for a lovely bunch of flowers!

I really love this place. It’s is one stop place for everything, if you’re looking for a place to have Breakie, lunch, flowers, wine, fresh meat, vegetables and fruits. Even if you’re looking for a shop to buy cheap and best camera. This is the place. It is really cheap also. It’s like exploring everything about Adelaide in just one go.

The Central Markets are an Adelaide institute. An absolute must whether you live here or are visiting. Park next door, or travel by tram.
There is everything! Every produce you can think of. The absolute freshest. The absolute tastiest! And all at a great price. The CM rocks!

Awesome market for those foodies that love frolicking through some of what South Australia have to offer… Great place with an awesome buzz and plenty of place to relax and unwind. Highly recommended to pop by if your in the neighbourhood.

Trading hours are wrong. Arrived at 415pm on a Wednesday and 90% of everything was closed. ??? Please explain where it is open till 530pm

Blackebys Sweet shop at the Central Market. The only place I know where you can get Fig Noyeau which is a
decadent fruity fig and almond slice which is delicately coated with a light fondant. A childhood favourite which holds many sentimental memories for me. Also a picture of their current Easter display.

Came here for breakfast, specifically for its delicious Chicken Paella. Very delicious and hearty meal for one. Cappuccino on the other had was very pleasant with beautiful chocolate powder art on top. Overall, an enjoyable experience with a very friendly owner as well!

Excellent again. The owner is very entertaining & a real salesman & keen to share his Saharan dates.

We shared a chicken tagine $40 which comes with a couscous/bean mix & toasted roll. Sensational.

Got to sit at counter which adds to experience. Lovely to sit & watch food pep incl paella.

Drinks available incl coffee.

If you’re looking for a warm and hearty meal at the Adelaide Central Markets, then look no further than Le Souk, serving a variety of Algerian cuisine

Having won awards at the Adelaide Royal Show and ranked a 2020 TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Winner (i.e. ranked in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide), I see why Le Souk deserves its awards

There is seating at the table booths and external seating around Le Souk.

The first time I passed Le Souk, Azou (the owner) asked me if I would like to date him, which weirded me (as I initially thought he was a random passerby), but in his hand was a bowl full of fruit dates and tongs in his other hand. He gave me a fruit date.
Turns out that he approaches customers too, with his date puns.
I think it’s an effective way to attract customers, because that will be my most memorable part of Le Souk, and Azou is friendly too.
The date was really sweet and nice.

I returned to Le Souk after walking around the entire market, for brunch (not because of the dates), where I was greeted warmly by the lady cooking the paellas and Azou.

I ordered a large chicken paella for $18.70 ($18.50 + $0.20 card surcharge ), which was immediately served hot in a large plastic bowl

The first bite was amazing. The flavours blended well. The chicken and rice was soft. The portion was huge.
Azou offered me another fruit date, which paired well with the paella.
Overall, the meal was incredibly satisfying and evoked a homeliness feeling

I highly recommend eating at Le Souk to anyone who goes to the Adelaide Central Markets; it was my most favourite meal in Adelaide.

Be prepared, for Azou has many date puns up his sleeve

The exceptional service at Le Souk elevates an already outstanding dining experience to new heights. It’s evident that every staff member approaches their work with genuine love and respect, which makes the food taste even better.

I was genuinely impressed by the care, respect, delicacy, and joy with which we were served throughout our visit. The attention to detail in both service and cuisine was remarkable.

The flavors were absolutely spectacular, particularly the chicken paella and chicken couscous, both of which delivered an unforgettable culinary experience.

The service alone makes this restaurant worthy of a standing ovation. The staff’s dedication to ensuring a perfect dining experience sets Le Sour apart from other establishments.

My first ever Algerian food. Get to try Algerian tea and the experience. I love it immediately: This place is amazing. Thumbs up for the owner aziz and the chef arti. And the staffs are amazing. Highly recommended! Will definitely come back and bring more friends.

The food was pleasant. The price was slightly too high for what i received however the service is warm and polite. Overall i had a decent experience but it could’ve been better.

Absolutely fantastic fresh food! The owner cooks everything and is super friendly! We had the Paella and the slow cooked Lamb and they were amazing! Huge serves and very well priced.

P.S the Harissa was mind blowing, we bought a jar to take away.

A great place for those wanting to see something a bit different when it comes to vintage. Young, hip, retro, a van with a cold/hot drinks, music playing, creating a good vibe while you relive what your parent’s house had in the 70s (mine threw it all out). Wonderful selection of vintage clothing and bags, some jewellery, old cameras, records, prints and bric a brac. Go check it out if vintage is your thing.

Loved it, real retro feel, playing retro music, some really great vintage clothing not to be found anywhere else. Lovley gem of a store to be experienced and explored, loved it, will definitely be back. Some very unique items, great collection of vinyl records.

This market place is exactly what Adelaide was missing. Bonus that it’s open 6 days a week too.

We went in on opening and had an absolute blast. It was definitely busy, but this was expected for opening weekend. I feel like on a regular day it’ll be the more chill vibes I prefer.
We found some really epic pieces, and for prices that I felt were good ($35 for a v. Cute black dress). The setup is also very cute and aesthetic if you’re looking for some stylish photos while out.

MDG over all has lots of stalls, different vintage styles and decade to choose from. Ranging from the 50s through to 90s and 00s! Quality and procured vintage apparel. There was also quality repurposed clothes and furniture.

The coffee was great and fast! Cafe staff work well under pressure without compromising on quality. Yum!

Staff were friendly and helpful! The volunteers were also super friendly and happy to share their experience.

This is the most amazing place. There’s amazing vintage furniture, furnishings, glass wear, ceramics, vinyl, clothing, hats, t-shirts. It’s a real treasure trove. It’s also home to a Big Shots coffee van.

A new vintage market in the heart of the city, clothing, furniture, toys, records etc

This is one of the best food tours ever !! We have travelled extensively and had food tours in Singapore , Copenhagen ,Bologna, Delhi and San Francisco to name a few but Broni’s tour of the market was exceptional ! The place is a food lovers dream and Broni was so knowledgable about the history of the market and had arranged tastings that were different and delicious . The market stall holders we met were so passionate about their product and we tasted a whole range of local foods and some amazing indigenous ingredients which as Brits we had never seen before . Cannot recommend highly enough – just do it !

Our tour was an ‘off train experience’ on our Indian Pacific rail journey last month. We loved it. Bridie was able to provide some fascinating history about some of the market stallholders that go back generations with tasty sample treats along the way. Our market tour was well paced, fun and informative.

Had fun, learnt a lot and had some good tastings along the way. Opened my eyes to what’s available at the market, can’t wait to go to the market again and try even more stuff. Tour guide was super nice, would recommend others to give it a go.

I visited the market on Friday night and fell in love with the atmosphere and the quality of the food

Lively market in the heart of the city with plenty of eateries options. Market itself on off season of the fridge is limited to a small space. Plenty of alcohol tasting stands, handcrafted jewellery and sweet dessert places.

Stumbled across the market tonight and wow, what a fantastic idea. Atmosphere was amazing and just another example of how Adelaide fails to disappoint when it comes to events.

The market is in the perfect location in the city. It attracts a diverse crowd of people and makes the experience fun. You can enjoy a dinner date in Rundle Street and then guilt your partner into buying you something from the market

Last year the markets were so amazing, but this year lacked all the charm.

Multiple stalls were left empty so there was half as much to do, and there were at least 2 stalls reselling crafts off of aliexpress and such. All of the normal artists have been replaced with ceramics and expensive jewellery as opposed to your crafts and art prints that you’d expect to find at a market.

Super disappointed by the fall in quality and overpriced nature of the markets this year. The sticky rice was as good as ever though.

A fun and relaxed vibe, excellent food any a variety of stalls that has something for everyone

There were around 20 stalls when we went there with a variety of food, jewelry, wine and other.
They were open 5.30-10.30pm on a Saturday.
Right next to the Belgian beer Cafe.

I was disappointed with the lack of accessibility at the markets with a lot of shops being inaccessible for wheelchair users.
