Manhattan Dry Cleaners

I have been a regular customer for this dry cleaner service since 2018 and it has always been good. However, recently I send a very expensive Zimmermann dress for dry cleaning and the dress was heavily damaged. The threads embroidery that goes around the pearl embroidery on all sides of the dress has all come off.
They did called me and notify me of this and offered to repaired it by hand; to glue back the threads one by one. I accepted at first but then changed my mind after I consulted a professional Taylor and the brand maker( Zimmermann). Both parties informed me that the threads are irrepairable and gluing them one by one will not reverse the damage. It will not bring back original look of the dress.
I refused to let them repair my dress after that and instead asked them to compensate me for repair of the dress should I bring it to alteration which would cost me 300-400 dollars. I was very disappointed with the way they responded when they did not want to even pay for the repair initially and only wanted to repair it themselves which I refuse.
To cut the long story short and after numerous emails, I settled for them to compensate me for the repair of the dress. As a regular customer, it was very disappointing to see them handle the issue in this manner. Attached are the pictures of the dress in original donation and after.

I’ve been going to this dry cleaner for over 10 years and have been extremely happy every time. My garmets always come back in exceptional condition, looking new, and without the shiny or starchy finish that some will leave you with. Prices are reasonable and turnaround times are great.

WORST Dry cleaners in Adelaide. DONT GO HERE!! I took my suit to them to get cleaned on the 29/6/23. When I took it out of the suit bag to wear, I found they had damaged my suit. There is a burn mark across one side of the jacket near the pocket. See photo attached. They used to much heat on the suit and has taken the shine and melted the top layer of fabric off the suit and burnt a line in the jacket. The dryer cleaner own told me it was my own fault and that the jacket was cheap. She also said they didn't know it was a lady's jacket so it was done as a men jacket. (I'm not sure what difference it makes) She then told me the burn mark was from the pocket. So I asked her why it isn't on the other side and why only one side is like that. She replied she doesn't know and that they don't make suits like they used to. She then told me again it was my suit's fault they won't be doing anything about it and it is what it is. This suit was only 3 weeks old. Don’t use this dry cleaners they will destroy your clothes. Worst dryer cleaners in Adelaide.

I brought my leather motorbike jacket in for dry cleaning around 2-3 months ago. When contacted to pick it up, I noticed that the leather was damaged, cracked, and had a sticky, slimy texture. The logo on the jacket chest was also damaged in a similar fashion. Upon bringing this up with the owner, I was told that they would “paint over it” and offer me the entire service for free. I returned when prompted to collect my “fixed” jacket to find that it was not fixed, the damage was in fact worse and they were now demanding payment despite their original offer due to the damage inflicted. I did not want to pay for a service where they obviously did not know what they were doing in regards to cleaning leather properly, and had profanities screamed at me with my jacket being taken away and refused to be returned. I offered to pay for half of the price considering it was meant to be free and the damage involved, however more abusive slurs were hurled at me. The police had to be involved, yet they still won’t return my property or admit their fault in the improper cleaning and care of the garment. As a business owner myself, I know better than to hurl abuse at customers, and instead try to come to a reasonable agreement. I do not recommend anyone visit this store if they wish for their clothes to be treated with care. I have images of the damaged jacket and a video of the confrontation should anyone require them.

I had my curtains cleaner through Manhattan and I was very pleased with the results. They came out to my home and took the curtains down and brought them back and re-hung them. A great family business right here in SA. The team were very accommodating, helpful and friendly. I would absolutely recommend Manhattan Dry Cleaners.
