Great selection of movies, good prices especially if you are a member.. The guys is very expensive and the seats start to become uncomfortable after 2 hours. Having said that, I’ve been 6x this year

They have definitely redone the place, the popcorn, drinks and other snacks were set up in a big circle. Chairs are really comfortable but don’t seat too close to the screen you will have to look up.
Tellie Niarel

Excellent experience. Cinema was clean, staff were friendly and professional, food and drinks were great. Popcorn was super fresh. Easy access and parking including disabled parking and access. Really impressed with the new renovations and features. Awesome!!! Highly recommend!!!

Comfortable recliners at the back row. Kids love the candy bar. Food and drink options available. Shopping options available closeby. Pretty busy in weekends and takes a while to find a parking spot. Great experience overall! When it comes to ticket pricing, some may find it on the high end.

Screen 2 is definitely the best way to watch any movie. The seats are just amazing and there were plenty of food options too

The Hoyts Group of companies in Australia and New Zealand includes Hoyts Cinemas, a cinema chain, and Val Morgan, which sells advertising on cinema screens and digital billboards.
Features available at many Hoyts Cinemas include reclining chairs, large high-resolution screens under the Xtremescreen brand, and dine-in menus under the Hoyts Lux brand. Seats that move and vibrate in synchronisation with on-screen action have been introduced at some cinemas using D-Box technology.
This was my first experience in this cinema and I must say that it was an incredible movie experience.
On Sundays, you will get special offers on movie tickets. The Xtreme screen and sound is great. You will definitely love it.
Pratik Christian

Hoyts Salisbury is fantastic! The recliners are a highlight—super comfortable, clean, and made with excellent leather quality. They make the movie-watching experience so much more enjoyable. The cinema is well-maintained and offers a great atmosphere for a relaxing outing. Highly recommended!
Paul B

Hoyts have always been pretty good, Salisbury is one of the mid range cinemas with the others in Adelaide being a bit better. That’s in terms of size, service, and facilities. (IE who wants to walk down a creepy corridor for the toilet). They are better than other company owned cinemas though.
The food, like the other cinemas, has become ridiculously expensive and forced us as a family to bring our own drinks now. Still happy to she’ll out $50 for popcorn, for now…
The cinemas themselves are always clean and tidy, and up to date.
The sound is still brilliant, I remember years ago the quality dropped off, but they obviously update their tech well. Same for picture quality.
Staff are always friendly and helpful.
I enjoy it, and would be 5 stars if I didn’t have to mortgage the house to buy snacks.
Scott Broadbent

We had our sons birthday party there for the new bettlejuice movie and there were great they handled everything. They were great with keeping in contact with me every step of the way. It was the easiest party we have thrown will definitely be using them in the future
Tara Lamerichs

First time using the app to book tickets. So daunting, but ended up pretty easy. Love the Cinemas and Salisbury Hoyts was no exception. Plenty of parking available and lots of eateries if you want a bite before watching a movie. The recliners make watching movies so much better.

Surprisingly we found out the cinema in the toppest floor of Westfield Marion, having strong feeling of movie, you can see the little Tramp, charlie chaplin right in front of the entry, such a cool cinema I ever see in Australia Yaya
Probably get a chance to try watching movie in Australia, the ticket price is pretty similar to hongkong

Nice and clean venue. Great atmosphere for movies. Like most cinemas, food and drinks were extremely expensive. But the salted caramel popcorn was amazing! Loved the transformer display in the main foyer. My son is a HUGE fan.
Angel Forrestal (Anahera)

The whole complex looks very tired and neglected-tired decorations and dated decor.
The film screening was good and the seats are comfortable, but it all looks a bit sad in the foyer areas. I remember how magnificent it was when the complex first opened, but it feels like there hasn’t been much spent on the place for decades.
Jenny Marshall

Event Cinemas Marion is a solid cinema overall, but the seating could use an upgrade. The chairs are of medium quality and, unfortunately, there are no recliners, which takes away from the comfort factor during long movies.
That said, the cinema is clean, the sound and visuals are great, and the location is convenient with plenty of parking. If you’re not fussed about luxury seating, it’s still a decent place to catch a movie. A good experience, but room for improvement!
Paul B

I go see movies a lot with my friends. No problem with the staff or movie snacks + gold class is actually pretty decent.. however, the bathrooms are consistently disgusting, there is never soap or hand sanitiser and they are incredibly unclean which is disappointing considering the tickets are quite expensive.

Watching Moana 2 at Hoyts Norwood on the Extreme Screen was an incredible experience! The massive screen, paired with the crystal-clear sound system, brought the movie to life in a spectacular way. The leather recliners were exceptionally comfortable, making the experience even more relaxing. The spacious and well-designed theatre added to the overall enjoyment. Hoyts Norwood is definitely the perfect place for a premium movie night!

The seats are pretty comfortable and are nice and wide with big drink holders. There is plenty of parking but the machines have gone cashless and are quite difficult to use. We witnessed a massive line up of cars at the exit due to the difficulties with the new machines. We were in an upstairs cinema. I have mobility issues and there were stairs that went halfway up before the escalator started which is a ridiculous design. We tried to go up in the lift but for some reason it will only go down and not up. So there is no accessibility at all for the top level, only stairs. This has made us unlikely to return since we don’t want to have to deal with these accessibility issues again.

HOYTS Cinema Norwood is a really great movie theater. The facilities, service, and environment are all excellent. The seats are very comfortable and spacious. The lighting and sound settings make people feel very comfortable. Catering, shopping, entertainment, and parking are all very convenient.

We had a private screening of The Substance to cap off a Halloween bus tour in 2024. We arrived fairly messy and left even messier however the professionals at The Palace took extremely good care of us. From the setup to the end – they were amazing. For a great price, I cannot recommend a private screening for you and your friends enough at Palace Nova. Thanks so much guys 🙂
James Jenke

The theater is good. Location is a bit tucked away. Kept well. Neat and clean. The cafe has quite a variety of Snacks, coffee & Juices. They serve wine too. Lots of good movies playing. There are around 12 Cinemas. Been here to see The movie…THE SUBSTANCE. On the whole a good experience ✨️ ☺️

Longstanding cinema in the heart of Rundle St that really hammers home the old school cinema vibe that’s slowly disappearing
I love going to the cinema and I miss the days gone by of old school experiences. In comes Palace nova holding its own amongst other commercialised companies – I love them and they deserve all our support
My favourite thing that they do is play older movies, obscure/independent movies and a selection outside the new Hollywood movies. Most recently, I came here for pulp fiction night and loved it
Places like this are few and far between, and should be supported
I love it here and will keep coming for a long time

So grateful for their excellent movie club.. being a solo visitor is a treat.
Highly recommend their salami toastie!

First time at this cinema. I liked the food and drink selection. We went to watch deadpool vs wolverine and it was a busy session.
We went to cinema 2 and I really did not like the setup of it. We sat on the left side and by the end of the movie, we both had headaches because having to turn our heads towards the screen.
I would try again some other time, but I’m in no hurry.

Elizabeth reading cinema is the best! Always great, friendly and helpful staff every time we come to see a movie. We regularly go to this cinema at least once or twice a month and it can’t be faulted. Last night we went to an advanced screening of Alien Romulus (great movie) and unfortunately they had some technical issues with getting the movie to start. Although we waited for around an hour for the movie to commence, the staff kept us well informed during this time and also offered to refund our money or get some complimentary tickets for another movie for next time for putting us out. We weren’t put out, I think it just added to the suspense of seeing an awesome movie! Thanks guys

Good facilities, comfortable seats, smaller cinemas. Good layout, but toilets only on the ground floor. So cross your legs if you’re in a hurry .

Busy on a Saturday night. Standard candy bar snacks with delicious choc tops in a range of flavours. Good selection of movies, new and retro, even better prices!

Great selection of films. Theatres are smaller than larger chain cinemas but very comfortable and you get a good view of the screen.

Phenomenal cinema that exceeds expectations with large seating and small number of seats per screen making for an exclusive experience without the costly price of a “Gold Class” ticket. The facilities are very well maintained so you can use the rest room with out fear. Great selection of wines and beers all reasonably priced. Purchased tickets to an advanced screening and would definitely come back again.

Great experience.
You can rent bean bag at $12 and buy blanket at about $15. You can bring your own bean bag/ picnic rug/ blankets as well. It’s very cold so bring 1 blanket each person.
They serve food and drinks but you can bring by your own as well.
The restroom is clean. It’s lovely experience.

It’s a great event and great experience. We watch “the notebook”, it’s an old movie but it’s nice story.
The movie ticket is $15/person and booking fee is $5.
It’s located in the middle of Botanical Garden so it’s a bit chilly at night.
Bring your own blankets, pillows, snacks or drinks or you can rent beanbag for $12 each.
Worth to try
Beatrice Soe

First time going, had a really good time, bats flying around before dark. Very cool to see them. Food, drinks, are available. I would recommend bringing something to sit on not just a blanket, the ground can be lumpy, or even better get a beanbag lounge for $10 a person. Was nice and comfortable to lay on. I will come back for sure maybe a few times over the summer. Highly recommended!!!!!!!
Warren McEvoy

It is a great event, we booked the seats with the bean bags, and for that area, you have full waiters service too. I think it is worth it so you don’t have to squeeze in with other people and the seats are nice. The movie picture and sound had great quality. The hot food is only served before the movie and other drinks and chips you can get it at any time. Bring blankets or buy one at the spot for 15 dollars. It gets cold even in the warm nights. Bring your drinks or pay 10 dollars for a beer. Overall, great experience!
Janaina Carvalho Lopes

Fun to do but the drinks and food are very expensive and the choices are basic. Do yourself a favour and bring lots of yummy food and drinks to enjoy. The beanbags cost $10 to hire so if you spend just $15 more than tge basic ticket, you get a beanbag and service. It is often cold so bring a blanket. Dogs are welcome. Due to the fact that the movie starts late (when the sun has gone down) there are very few children. All in all it is a nice experience.

I’m visiting Adelaide from Far North Queensland. I’m so happy I chanced upon this little gem
What a great experience tonight !!
For just $16
A screening of 4 short films by Australian film makers, several of whom were available after their film to share how their ideas came about, to discuss technical aspects of the creative process and to answer questions from the audience.
It was fabulous
Informative
and a lot of fun !!
I’m not a film maker nor an animator but I really enjoyed the insights
Either buy tickets for a screening
Or subscribe $25 / month to keep Mercury Cinema prosperous & enjoy special events
.. like a special screening coming up
A special screening of an episode from The Witcher series with special guest from the creative team to address the guests.
Take a friend along to Mercury Cinema !!
I can highly recommend it
.. and with Adelaide’s support it will only be better & stronger & attract more diverse films for us all
I would like to have had more time to see a couple of the other films on offer over the next few weeks
