Easily the best dance school in Adelaide! Friendly, welcoming staff take care of you from the moment you walk in, no matter how nervous you might be. The bar serves alcohol, among other drinks, so they only have adult students – no kids! They specialise in social dancing (but do wedding dances too), preparing you to go out & have a great night without the need for a routine.
I was an instructor at QuickSteps a few years back & even though I may not teach anymore, it’s just so much fun to swing by, catch up and dance with all the new, familiar and friendly faces.

Our friends recommended QuickSteps to us for our wedding first dance. We started our 12 private lessons 6 months before our wedding and SO fortunate that we did! We had busy months in between and didn’t get to practice as much as we wanted, but Caitlin was AMAZING – very patient, attentive, gave reasonable suggestions, and reassured us along the way. You could tell she knew what she was doing 🙂
All staff were friendly and welcoming, we didn’t feel out of place at all. It was comfortable and wouldn’t mind coming back for the group dance sessions. Any questions we sent via text or email were answered promptly. The only minor issue we had was the parking after peak hours, so leave plenty of time to find parking (if driving), and make sure to relax before class to be in the zone!
Thank you Caitlin and QuickSteps Team! – Rose & Peter

Fun studio, engaging staff and teachers, regular group lessons to help practice with private lessons to help you master your favourite styles. It has more of a familiar, welcoming club vibe than a typical studio with frequent social nights to hang out with other students/dancers. A great way to keep fit and learn something new with a strong emphasis on fun!

The hardest part of our first dance for our wedding was building up the courage to enquire about lessons! Roselyn phoned me to lock in a time that suited us straight away and I can’t remember how many times I kept repeating to her that I’m not a dancer. I was so nervous for our first trial lesson, But you are greeted with such love like you’ve always been coming and this is your home that we both instantly felt more at ease.
We chose 6 private lessons in the lead up to our wedding. In our first lesson we learnt how to box step, I left feeling confident and not overwhelmed at all.
Our instructor Roi was phenomenal, he slowly built up dance moves and in our last few lessons when we had our feet all worked out he helped us with our hand styling.
On our wedding day I walked out onto the dance floor so confident, ready to show off our dance.
I’m still not a dancer by any means but I could rip out or first dance routine anytime any place with confidence.
We can’t recommend and thank Quick Steps enough for being the highlight of our wedding preparations and a time to connect with each other during a very busy time.

Great dance floor, awesome community – I love this place when it’s good but god damn the salsa to bachata ratio on Friday nights is so off. The same songs are recycled every week and as a salsa dancer I am always disappointed to have so few dances in a night. I hate to leave a one star review but I’m so desperate to be heard. Pls get a better playlist/ DJ.

First opened in 1913. Have visited this beautiful theatre to watch a number of performances before and after the major redevelopment was completed in 2020. Went on a tour of Her Majesty’s Theatre today (1/9/2025). The extensive renovation preserved the original facade on Grote Street, restored architectural elements, expanded the seating capacity and introduced a new west wing with a modern glass facade. Beautiful! The tour took us to each level of the theatre as well as back of stage areas. Really interesting tour. Very entertaining and knowledgable volunteer guide, Peter.
Carparks nearby. Wheelchair accessible.

Love the shows put on and the staff are friendly. Only wish the seating area in the foyer could have been made larger and for pre-show dining when the main theatre isn’t open, it was a little tricky to find out how to enter. A sign on the door would be a simple solution. The food however was delicious.

We bought our kids (4 and 5) in for a Salsa Lesson with Getty. With a very short attention span, Getty made it fun and we surprisingly got a few cute little moves out of them. We then got a short adult lesson for the remainder of the time. Thanks for the flexibility!

Oscar and Dance Amor are great dance teachers.
The routine he taught us absolutely blew away all of our guests.
Oscar is a funny, patient teacher who does an excellent job of building up your dance confidence and having you practice dance moves that are very appropriate for your fitness and confidence levels.
We are very reserved people, but with Oscar and the team, we felt relaxed as he gradually coaxed us out of our shells so that we could give a great performance.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to Dance Amor for the memories they helped create.

Getty was very patient with us as we navigated to curate an elegant bridal waltz. She tailored a routine that suited our very limited dance experience and comfort zones. Getty also took the time to provide different examples for us to understand how we can achieve the aesthetic we hoped for and ensured we were prepared for any scenario before the wedding.
Our guests were mesmerised by our dance routine and we felt confident on our big day! More importantly, we enjoyed the process leading up to the big reveal.
We would definitely recommend Getty to any upcoming bridal couple wishing to have an unforgettable first dance.

My partner Rachael and I got lessons from Dance Generation Adelaide for our first dance for our wedding.
Vicki was amazing at catering to our requests, and specifically requested to be our teacher as she also had a love for Queen!
She made such a beautiful routine for us, and constantly was adjusting it for us as we improved our skill. She was very invested in our progress and we wouldn’t of had anywhere near as beautiful of a dance without her amazing instruction!
Thank you Vicki and Dance Generation for the skills towards our amazing night!

We had the lovely Meredith coach us in our Wedding Dance and WE HAD THE BEST TIME; the wedding night itself went seamlessly, and with the grounding taught to us in the basic steps + all the little tips Meredith shared for how to deal with any eventuality – we felt super confident and relaxed going in to it.
We also loved the dance lessons themselves – a series of lovely date nights themselves in the lead up to our wedding :-).
Thankyou Meredith

We were lucky enough to have Meredith (the owner) as our teacher for about 13 lessons to help us learn our first dance in the lead up to our wedding. After trying a number of different dance studios, we were so happy to find Meredith! The studio is nice and intimate (you have your own space and the attention of your teacher the whole time, unlike some other studios we went to!) Meredith made us feel so comfortable, the lessons were reasonably priced, and there was no sales pitch/pressure which we appreciated. We spent our lessons laughing and having a great time together, and Meredith made the whole process very enjoyable and fun and helped us build confidence in the lead up to our wedding. We cannot recommend Dance Generation and Meredith highly enough!

Ive moved interstate and am so sad that i cannot find as good dance studio as this, literally the reason why ive come here to leave this review…
The social circle in this studio, the welcoming atmosphere, the great teachers and the AWESOME performances make this studio so unique.
Julia puts in so much effort with the performances that they actually feel and look great.
If youre thinking about starting to dance with no previous dance history come here, you will be looked after. Our first dance was a moment we will never forget and was the highlight of our wedding night. We had never danced before taking lessons at Adelaide Wedding Dance and barely recognised ourselves when we watched back videos of our first dance.
Getty crafted a unique routine that matched our personalities, and our guests were in awe of the lifts and highlights. Our friends and family came rushing to ask how we learnt to dance and many said they wished they had learnt a first dance for their wedding, or wanted to learn.
Getty is an incredibly skilled, experienced and patient teacher. She took time to understand our preferences and made the entire process of learning to dance enjoyable. She went above and beyond helping us consider the venue, dancefloor area, shoes and attire so that our dance went smoothly.
Its no surprise that Adelaide Wedding Dance has won so many wedding vendor awards, they are brilliant at what they do, and we cannot recommend Getty highly enough.
We bonded even more deeply as a couple through the experience and we will savour the memory of our first dance forever.

From the moment we started planning our wedding, my partner and I knew we wanted to do a first dance but we weren’t confident in our skills. We came across Adelaide Wedding Dance school and thought, why not??? We’re so glad we took the opportunity to learn a routine. We not only impressed our guests but ourselves with our progress within 4 months! Our instructor, Getty, was definitely the highlight of the experience. She took into consideration our skills and knew when to push us to our limit. We cannot recommend the team highly enough!

My partner and I approached Adelaide Wedding Dance 4 weeks prior to our actual wedding date. Given the time constraints and our hectic work schedules, Getty was very accomodating in finding a solution in scheduling dance lessons that best suited us. I wouldn’t exactly say we both had two left feet or anything but our dance intuitions weren’t great or natural either. All I can say is Getty and Oscar were amazing dance instructors that choreographed and customised our entire dance routine from start to end to fit our first wedding dance song choice superbly. They were imaginative, creative and were so patient in ensuring we were able to remember and deliver the dance visualised by them from beginning to end. There were many customised dance routines that played to our individual strengths, and they knew this, their abilities to visualise a routine fit for the song both individually and collectively as a pair were amazing, they were able to make us feel comfortable and natural in our movements along the way to the point where we were exuding more confidence with each passing lesson. Looking back I don’t have any regrets and would gladly do it all over again and will definitely be recommending to others, the whole experience was awesome, exhilarating, a good work out, and most importantly great fun. I can honestly say that this wedding dance routine definitely was the highlight of the night. It made the evening that much more special. Thank you so much Getty and especially to Oscar for realising our dream wedding dance, we could not have asked for more ❤️

Getty was simply the most wonderful, brilliant, and patient instructor. My fiancée and I were very nervous coming in to the experience, but Getty made sure that we were comfortable, had a complete and well thought through process for us to follow, and kept us laughing and looking forward to coming to each sessions of the 7 months of lessons we had. She was also so accommodating of my father in law in making sure that the father-daughter dance was such a beautiful moment to behold.
It was simply one of the best experiences in our wedding and the outcome was absolutely spectacular. We could not possibly recommend Getty and the team at Adelaide Wedding Dance School any more than we could. Getty and the team are truly amazing, wonderful, warm, talented, and generous. Thanks so much Getty!

I learnt Brazilian Samba from Talita at TQ Dance & Movement Studio, and she is an incredible choreographer who exudes energy, joy, and authenticity. Every class is vibrant, fun, and full of community spirit. Talita is inclusive and often invites her students to perform at different events — never with pressure, only with encouragement — and is deeply supportive of each person’s own dance journey. You can’t beat the location, and the studio itself is new, bright, and fitted with wide mirrors so you can easily see your progress. The culture here is light, welcoming, unpretentious, and full of laughter. If you’re thinking about Samba or Afro dance, look no further than a Brazilian-born teacher from Rio de Janeiro with authentic roots — Talita brings the real essence of the dance to life.

My husband and I had a fantastic experience learning our wedding dance at Arthur Murray, thanks to our incredible teacher, Lize. Despite my husband having no dancing experience and a leg amputation, she made the process enjoyable and effortless with her remarkable energy and kindness. We’re extremely grateful to Lize for helping us create a stunning wedding dance that was truly unforgettable and making my husband enjoy the experience. I was so happy that he started to look forward to our dance classes.
Although I could rave about how amazing Lize is.. the whole team was amazing. We were able to have beautiful experiences with Tara, Chloe and Morgan! They were all fabulous and made us feel like family!

Deciding to get off the couch and start dancing at Arthur Murray Adelaide has been one best decisions I have made for myself. Right from the beginning, all of the teachers, staff and students have been welcoming and inclusive. I went in with one goal in mind, learn how to swing dance. What I have achieved and continue to do so, exceeds my expectations with the encouragement and professional guidance from all of the teachers. Every teacher brings their own unique pizzazz to my personal lessons, group lessons and Friday night social party’s.
Dancing has been fantastic for my balance, posture, coordination and mental health. I love starting the day knowing I will get to dance later that evening.
I have made some solid friendships through Arthur Murray and love the dancing community we all share. I would highly recommend Arthur Murray Adelaide to start and or continue your dance journey. You might find something you never knew you loved.

Learning dance here has been lifechanging for me, helping me build confidence and meet new friends. The staff are wonderfully supportive of neurodivergence, and the community of students is friendly, welcoming and great fun. Truly, I recommend to anyone who wants to meet new people, has trouble coming out of their shell, and especially autistic individuals like myself who struggle with initiating social interactions. If I could give an extra star I would.

Awesome dance school for adult classes. Christina is an experienced and friendly teacher and she creates really fun choreography to varied musical styles. The school has a great weekday evening timetable and other experienced teachers so you can go after work and there’s lots of different styles available to suit everyone at every level. I’m on my second term of advanced tap 17 years since I last put on my tap shoes and loving it. The advanced classes are challenging enough for people who used to compete, take exams or perform, but not intimidating if you’re less experienced. I would highly recommend Hyperdance if you’re new to dance or looking to get back to dancing when you haven’t done it for a while.

Hyperdance is a fantastic dance studio that is ideal for adult dancers who may not have danced for a long time, never danced, or are experienced dancers and love performing!!! It’s a beautiful community and has such a welcoming vibe. I love all the classes and the amazing, talented teachers. So glad I found Hyperdance!

If you’re looking for a studio that will embrace you with open arms, that is going to extend your dance knowledge, learn from pros of the industry or even just to have some fun, you’ve come to the right place. I stopped dancing for a long time, thought I’d never be able to come back, until I found Hyperdance and the support and love from the students and the teachers is just unbelievable. One big supportive family. You won’t regret it.

I really enjoyed the class I took with Christina and her teaching style- she has a great energy and kept the class at a good pace/level for everyone she also explained things super well and I’ve done dancing for many years but have never had a body roll taught that way and it clicked something in my brain that hasn’t happened before and I was actually able to do one properly! I will definitely be coming back for more classes soon!

Having not danced for 18 years since I was a teenager, I wanted desperately to get back into it but I was nervous as my body now doesn’t quite move the way it used to in my younger years. But I decided to take the leap of faith anyway and now I know since finding hyperdance that those nerves were for nothing! I started their beginner combo class last year and it was amazing! So welcoming and non judgemental and there is a class for every ability! If you want to dance but have reservations, try out their trial passes! I promise you it will be a decision you won’t regret! Make 2021 the year you decide to step out of your comfort zone! Believe in yourself and do it! Love this place, it’s amazing!

Oscar from Elite Synergy is a brilliant instructor who makes learning to dance a lot of fun! His services are affordable, he is reliable, highly skilled and has a great dance studio.
We like Oscar’s personal approach to dancing the most, he is a very personable person and very patient! We are learning our bridal waltz through Oscar and he has put together a really great routine which we can be confident in dancing to on our wedding night.
Other benefits attending Oscar’s studio is he is quite flexible, and will tailor a dance package to suit your needs.
I would highly recommend Elite Synergy Dance Studio, if you’re looking for fun, affordable, structured dance lessons that are going to take you from having two left feet, to having feet that move in all the right directions.

I joined Elite Synergy Dance School earlier this year and Oscar’s team, Yulia, Getty, Andrew and Oscar himself have welcomed me so warmly with kindness, patience and support. Thanks to their dedication, wealth of knowledge and passion when it comes to both dancing and the learning process itself, I have enjoyed lessons in both Salsa and Rhumba. They have challenged me in many ways to understand how I learn and how to improve the way I learn efficiently and with efficacy too. I always look forward to going to class and it is a true highlight each time I am there. Elite Synergy Dance School has really shown me that anyone and everyone can enjoy dancing. Oscar’s team and their positive spirit will make you feel at home and excited to learn all at the same time. Can’t wait to for the next lesson and to learn other new dance styles too!

I started going to the free parties and social movie nights to meet people and try a few dance styles. After attending a few events and seeing / learning about a few dance styles, I felt that I related to tango the best and attended a few group classes. Within a few lessons I had enough skills to make a short routine then started attending a few latin dance classes to do the same. Some of the patterns seemed complex to start with but a bit of practice is all it takes to improve. The group lessons were friendly and I felt a clear sense of progress.
Oscar developed a way of teaching complex patterns very quickly. After getting my head around this new way of learning, I found I was able to pick up a complex pattern in less than a minute, then start working on leading or making it look the part.
The hardest thing for me was to learn how to lead so many patterns and styles but I’ve found that practice with a lot of dance partners and experience is what made the difference.
I’d thoroughly recommend new people to come see the dance party and pick a style of dance that works for them. Or start with the salsa class.
From looking back, the option learn quickly is always there. Just need to apply yourself 🙂

Group classes at Elite Synergy Dance School have been a fantastic way for me to learn to dance (always a desire of mine), make wonderful new friends, and develop creatively as an individual.
I started out in Group Salsa Classes just over one year ago and quickly became very fond of learning to dance, and I soon branched out into waltz group classes, and have recently joined rhumba.
Over the last year (and a bit!) I have gained so much knowledge in social ballroom and Latin dance, and I feel like I remember all the steps and tips due to the creative ways the staff at Elite Synergy implement lessons. Concepts are explained in detail, and in ways that adjust to an individual’s learning style. You will never feel left behind, and you will always feel included.
In order to test what one has learned the school will invite its students out to social dance events around Adelaide. Social dance events are such great fun and your peers and teachers at Elite Synergy strive to make all beginners feel welcome and enjoy the night out. I’ve personally found these events hugely useful to practice what my group classes teach and to improve on my skills whilst meeting new people. Not only have I been able to expand my skills creatively, but also socially since joining Elite Synergy Dance School.
Over the last few months at Elite Synergy Dance School I have been able to participate in SOS training in order to more deeply develop my skills and learning in dance.
It has been a process I didn’t quite think I would ever participate in but it has been an excellent opportunity to develop in dance and thought.
This system has changed my view on just how to learn to dance; to make the learning process more efficient whilst working to achieve good technique, a standard for Elite Synergy Dance School. They do not skimp on quality.
Being challenged to think creatively about basic dance concepts, to strip the moves back to basics, to learn both the lead and follow and instinctively then reverse moves to make creative and dynamic sequences: these are all factors of SOS training delivered by Elite Synergy.
There are challenging moments, and moments of great clarity that change really how one can feel about social dance. It’s been a great experience so far to participate in this dynamic area of the dance school. I look forward to continuing with the program.

We began dancing in preparation for our wedding but are having such a ball we will continue after the wedding! While not a natural dancer or even a particularly rhythmic person group classes such as “musicality” and “lead and follow” have helped to develop skills in addition to our private tuition so that I feel confident about doing our wedding dance and dancing in general. Great teaching technique that engages different forms of learning to really cement dancing principles and help progress dance ability at a rapid rate. So glad we found Elite Synergy School of Dance!

As I met Oscar, all I really wanted to do is learn Bachata and Salsa. Latin and Ballroom dancing didn’t interest me, but when he gave me a taste of Ballroom Tango, followed by Latin Rumba and others I found lots of liking to the discovery of those art forms of dance. There was a world of knowledge to be gained and I loved it. At those times he only offered private lessons, which made me at first very worried about overpriced danced lessons. This was fortunately not the case.
I’m all about wanting to know details. So, one aspect that I love about Oscar Castellanos services is that he has taught me the art of dancing with all its intricacies and nuances
One quality, I absolutely love/hate though admire about Oscar is that he has the courage to bring me to my wits ends, for my own good, so I can alter attributes that are not supporting me in progressing into an amazing dancer. Often Oscar has put himself at risk of losing students for the sake of giving them what is best for their dancing progress and not giving up until the students come to an understanding of the value behind his, at times, ‘mad’ teaching methods. Not many people have the courage as he has to act like a reflecting mirror so that you can see the beauty within you and when necessary also will help you see your ugly side so you as a student can do something about it to change it.
Adding onto his brownie points, what amazes me is that after 1 ½ years there was not one group class or private lesson that was ever the same. Oscar always keeps us on the ball, moving and teaches new aspects of learning how to dance. I definitely recommend Elite Synergy’s dance teaching services to anyone who really wants to learn to dance. The lessons are very affordable; teachers are well trained, knowledgeable, friendly and have been extremely flexible to my ever changing roster needs as a shift worker.
All in all, I found I’ve got out of dancing more than I could’ve ever thought applicable. It has not only improved my dancing, but the skills I learned have helped me in other personal areas, which have caused me to become a more attentive and less selfish person. Friends are now easier to come by and what truly lovely friends they are. Thank you Oscar

Frequently Asked Questions about Dance Studios in Adelaide
What dance styles are commonly taught in Adelaide dance studios?
Adelaide dance studios offer a wide range of dance styles. Commonly taught options include ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, classical, Latin (such as Salsa and Cha-Cha), and Irish dance. Many studios also offer specialized classes like belly dance or Bollywood dance.
How do I choose the right dance studio for me?
Selecting the right studio depends on several factors. Consider your dance goals - are you looking for recreational fun or serious training? Research studios, read reviews, and check their website. Observe a class if possible, and see if the teaching style and atmosphere are a good fit. Also consider the location and schedule.
What age groups do dance studios typically cater to?
Most dance studios offer classes for a broad spectrum of age groups. They often have programs for preschoolers introducing basic movement, classes for children and teenagers developing technique, and options for adults of all levels. Some studios specialize in classes for specific age ranges, so it’s important to check their offerings.
What is the difference between recreational and competitive dance programs?
Recreational programs are designed for fun and fitness, emphasizing enjoyment and basic technique. Competitive programs, on the other hand, are more structured and intense, focused on preparing dancers for competitions and achieving a high level of skill. Competitive programs require a significant time commitment and often involve additional costs.
What equipment or clothing do I need for dance classes?
The required attire and equipment vary depending on the dance style. For ballet, you’re typically required to wear a leotard, tights, and ballet shoes. For jazz or hip hop, comfortable athletic wear is generally appropriate. Many studios sell dancewear, but you can also find affordable options at dancewear stores or online retailers. Check the studio's website or ask before your first class.
How much do dance classes typically cost in Adelaide?
The cost of dance classes varies considerably based on the studio, the dance style, the length of the class, and the instructor's experience. Introductory classes or trial packages are often available at a lower price. Expect to pay anywhere from $15 to $30+ per class. Monthly memberships can offer better value for regular students.
Are there any dance studios that offer introductory or trial classes?
Many studios understand that people want to try a class before committing. It’s very common for studios to offer introductory classes, trial classes, or short-term packages specifically designed for newcomers. Check a studio’s website or contact them directly to inquire about these options. These often provide a chance to experience the studio’s environment.
What qualifications and experience should I look for in a dance instructor?
While formal qualifications aren't always mandatory, it's beneficial to seek out instructors with relevant experience and a demonstrated passion for dance. Look for instructors with professional training, performance experience, or certifications from recognized dance organizations. A good instructor is also patient, encouraging, and able to adapt their teaching style to different learning abilities.
What is the best way to progress in my dance training?
Consistent practice is key to progress. Attend classes regularly, take advantage of any workshops or masterclasses offered, and practice at home when possible. Seek feedback from your instructor and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself. Consider supplementing classes with private lessons if you want more personalized attention.
What should I do if I have a medical condition or injury that might affect my ability to dance?
It’s essential to consult with a doctor or physiotherapist before starting or continuing dance training, especially if you have any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries. Inform your dance instructor about your condition so they can provide appropriate modifications or guidance. Always prioritize safety and listen to your body.
