Beautiful one of my favourite places to visit. They have every book. The store itself is stunning. My daughter and I love this place.

Dymocks shops are always immaculate but the one located in Rundle St it’s breathtaking. As soon as you enter the store, you are transported to another fancy world of books. The structure of the shop is beautiful and the staff is lovely. Will visit it again and again.

In Adelaide where it’s very flat and surrounded by hills. I guess in some future battle those living here will find it hard to avoid the incoming artillery. That aside the city is pleasant and it also has its seedy aspects but in the whole a lovely city to visit. Where to buy books? Books are as important to an avid reader as water is to a long distance runner. Dymocks Bookshop in Rundle Mall, Adelaide is from many of the franchised Dymocks bookshops I have visited over the years is one of the more impressive (collection wise). Accessed from the escalator directly from Rundle Mall (wheelchair access is by lift just to the right of the main entrance in a culver). You are welcomed by an impressive and welcoming large space that looms beautifully over you as you make the summit off the escalator. For history buffs as it is an impressive space. This new flagship store occupies the former Regent Theatre, which extends across the entire first floor above the Regent Arcade shopping arcade (where the lift is). I have visited this Dymocks store on my regular visits to Adelaide because it had a huge and diverse collection. I found three of the Frank Herbert series Dune books that I couldn’t find in Sydney. Also I managed to grab two Stephen King novels I have been shopping for (The Mist and Duma Key). I am in a Stephen King Book Reading Marathon and these two titles helped me in my reading endeavour. The space is well designed for the busy reader traffic and I cannot recall a day when Dymocks was poorly visited. On every visit loads of readers and browsers. It’s a healthy reading cohort that belies the current social mood of non-readership. Still, how many people buy books but don’t read them? Are you one of them? Great bookshop. Friendly and helpful staff and a magnificent space in which to browse and purchase books.

There’s a sign on the street and escalators leading up to the shop.
I’m glad I went to take a look.
It’s a beautiful bookstore with peaceful ambience and plenty to choose from. Lots of beautiful stationery, gift ideas, and of course actual books. Many categories to choose from, but the language selection is pretty small.
I love how there were some comfy spots to sit and browse the books.
This is one of the loveliest bookstore in Adelaide 🙂

This is surely the best Dymocks I've ever seen and I've been to dozens. There's another review here that describes it as breathtaking and that's really no exaggeration. Worth stopping by just to look at the ceiling, you'll probably end up feeling inspired to buy a book. Huge selection, friendly staff too.
