Wow! What a wonderful experience !

Greeted warmly at reception and seated with a glass of hot tea and water.

My dear friend Alice gave me a voucher for a Hot Stone Massage and Nicole the practitioner did a wonderful job. Nicole kindly checked in, making sure I was comfortable and the pressure was appropriate. Nicole had a natural talent for soothing the sore spots. Great job!

A super relaxing experience. Followed by a glass of bubbles in the “relaxing room”. Amazing service! What more could you want.

Highly recommend, treat your loved ones with this experience.

I would not say that this spa is Adelaide’s only 5-star spa. There are now others that are as luxurious and some even more so.

+1 ⭐️ for the ambience of the lounge area – it is warm and inviting with very comfortable chairs.
+1 ⭐️ for the ease of filling up a form – very modern using a form accessed by a QR code
+1 ⭐️ for the treatment room. Their bed is especially comfortable, like many luxury spas.
+1 ⭐️ for bliss level achieved during the massage. I had their signature massage. I should have asked for firm but this is not the place to get knots loosened. The bliss level helps in loosening and relaxing your whole body.
+1 ⭐️ for the facial – I had the microdermabrasion facial and thankfully managed to return to my state of bliss so much so that I cannot remember the facial at all.

-2 ⭐️ I wish that the facial consultation was done before the treatment. After the massage and before the facial, I was woken from my bliss with questions which I cannot remember … all I know is that my blissful state was interrupted. Not once but twice.

That was the impression I was left with though I was not irritated. It merely means that with all of my spa experiences, I cannot say it was a 5-star experience.

I will return to try a different facial. I will have to remember to call them back as they forgot to charge me for the add-on to my facial.

Last but not least, you can pay for your luxury self-care treat using Afterpay – however it’s a little complicated and you have to call the spa for instructions.

Words cannot describe how blissful the experience is at Temple.

Upon arrival I am greeted by a lovely host who quickly put my mind at ease as she took me through to the waiting area, complete with soothing essential oils, calming tea, and relaxing music.

My therapist, Abigail took me through to the room all set for my Hot Stone Massage. Abigail was super attentive, to ensure my treatment was everything I needed it to be – relaxing, quiet and good for the soul.

The room temperature, table temperature, music volume and weighted blanket all contributed to the experience. There was no outside noise, traffic, or staff on their tea break to be heard (like other so called day spas).

Abigail checked in to ensure the pressure was right for me, and as someone with sensitive legs I have never had a massage that didn’t cause leg pain – until now! Abigail made it utterly perfect.

I cannot recommend Temple Day Spa highly enough!

Had a pregnancy massage here couple of weeks ago and really got my body relaxed. Although I would’ve loved a bit more concentration on my back where it hurts the most. My legs thoroughly got a great massage! Highly recommend this place!

The massage itself was pretty good,
but I still don’t understand what a horrible system/service it was.

My booking was at 3pm, and I arrived at 2.45pm to fill out the consult forms. Another customer came into the lounge at 3:02 pm. Her therapist came, took her to the room first.
I was still waiting for my therapist. When I finally entered the room and got undressed, it was already 3.10 pm.
After the massage, I checked the time, it was 3:57pm. The actual massage time wasn’t even 50 minutes, not sure if it was worth $185.

I normally don’t pay attention to the time, but this was the first time I started later than the booked time and waited over 20 minutes.

I was going to bring this up at reception, but when I came to the desk, the lady didn’t even look at me or ask, ‘How was everything?’ or ‘Was everything okay?’ She seemed completely careless and too busy doing something else. She just said ‘Bye,’ and that was it.

maybe 4 stars for the massage, but everything else wasn’t even worth a single star.

After a 61-hour workweek on my feet in hospitality, I took to the Temple Day Spa for a sauna and a hot stone massage.

I arrived half an hour early, and the lovely receptionist offered me to get changed into a lush bathrobe and enjoy the massage chair in the relaxation area. This area is absolutely lovely for all senses: the lighting, the smell and the delightful tea that you can help yourself to. And then the chair itself, so powerful – never experienced anything like it!

Infrared sauna was very comfortable with ample of thick towels and relaxing music. It was on 58 degrees – next time I’ll ask for it to be a bit higher as it took about 20 minutes before I got that real hot sauna feeling.

Next was the hot stone massage by the lovely Keeley. What can I say? I have had many massages in my life and this was simply the best I have ever experienced.

I left a different person, completely rejuvenated and energized – thank you Keeley and the lovely team for an amazing afternoon, I’ll be back!

I researched before making the booking, thought I could have a very good experience. But I must say I was a bit disappointed by the very average massage techniques and also a very cold room temperature. I booked the Oriental Package. Don’t think I’ll go there again.

My 2nd time at Siam Retreat Norwood. The service from the team is amazing. Very friendly & courteous. The massage expert that assists me today is Irene. She is very good and very professional. She started the massage straight away when she walked into the room, wasted no time at all. She found all the pressure points that I didn’t know I have issues with and fixed a lot of my existing painful spots. After the massage, they always offer a pot of hot tea for me. This is another fantastic relaxing experience from the team at Siam Retreat Norwood. Well done!

Float therapy should be included at every resort spa. I don’t know how I will ever start treatments without it.

The welcome was warm and I was brought a herbal tea whilst I filled the consultation form. +1⭐️

My journey of bliss started with a 45-minute float. It was incredibly relaxing. They provide ear plugs and a float disc for your neck. After 10 mins, I removed the float disc and just relaxed into the water. +3⭐️

My journey of bliss continued with the Nourish & Restore spa package.

The music in the room was incredibly loud. I am glad I didn’t just “put up with it” – there are no volume controls in the room so my therapist had to stop the massage to go to reception to turn the volume down to a sensible level. -1⭐️

It is not easy to find a spa therapist who is good in both massage and facial. I had asked for a medium to firm massage, but it was more light to medium. She was professional but missing the “magic hands” of a really good massage therapist. -0.5⭐️

What my therapist lacked in the massage she more than made up in the facial. The facial was superb and it is clear she has magic hands for a facial. The face massage left me wanting more. I also loved the mask that was used. A proper mask as opposed to paper ones that a lot of places use these days. +2.5⭐️

After I got dressed, slowly, drunken from so much bliss, I got to sit for a while in the relaxation room. +1⭐️

They did not try to sell me any products. +1⭐️

Bliss level achieved: 8.5/10⭐️

Thank you. ☺️

Absolutely loved every moment of my experience! My husband and I had bought each other a package earlier in the year and we dedided to go together. From the booking, settling in, our amazing relaxing float to our respective treatments. It was brilliant: excellent service where you feel relax as everything is taken care of! Just enjoying the moment! Facial was extremely professional. And a surprise awaited us at the end : a glass of bubbles for our wedding anniversary! Thank you to the team for giving us the opportunity to relax, rejuvenate in a beautiful setting

I finally redeemed a birthday voucher that was given to me. My goodness it was worth the wait. I had a 30 minute float spa and was able to relax and be by myself. I then had a full body massage in a chair that was state of the art. I selected ‘firm’ and melted back into the chair wearing a luxurious robe and covered in a warm blanket. While this was happening I received a facial and the whole experience was unbelievable. Angela my facial technician and host was so lovely and welcoming. I HIGHLY recommend visiting.

Thank you Maddie for such a blissful treatment, (massage and facial). Each movement was perfectly catered to enhance relaxation, allowing my mind & body to completely switch off. I have little to no tension now and my skin looks brighter & more even. The room was toasty warm, music & volume was lovely and lighting was dark which was great. Plus Maddie added lots of personal touches throughout my appointment, firm/slow scalp massages, singing bowl, beautiful massage flow and her general warmth and comforting presence. Thank you again Maddie for your magical hands, it was just what I needed. I am so happy and will sleep like a baby tonight ❤️

Daniel

My 30-minute float at Blue Lagoon Float and Spa Hyde Park was amazing—honestly, it saved me the airfare to the Dead Sea! The feeling of weightlessness was exactly how I imagine floating in space. The underwater speaker was a great touch, as my ears were submerged, and the sounds were calming. I did ask about more nature sounds beyond ocean waves, but options were limited—something to consider for future playlists! Having the water spray handy was an eye saver when you accidently get a bit of water in your eyes when getting the hang of it.

Everything needed for the float was within reach, and the staff member’s explanation was clear and helpful. However, just as she was doing a great job setting the peaceful atmosphere, two other staff members giggling down the corridor briefly interrupted the serenity. Not a huge deal, but a little distracting in what’s meant to be an ultra-relaxing uber premium experience.

The 30-minute infrared sauna was also a highlight! The dry heat was great, and the controls were super easy to adjust. Being 6ft tall, I could sit comfortably but couldn’t lie down, which I usually like in larger traditional saunas. The biggest surprise? A damp towel—on a 37-degree day! The staff mentioned they were having trouble drying them, which seemed ironic given the weather. Not a deal breaker, but definitely a small fix that would improve the experience.

Overall, it’s a great place to try floating, especially with their affordable entry level deals. A few small touches—more sound choices, a bit more staff awareness, and dry towels—and this would be an easy 5-star experience. I can absolutely see why, this is a 5-star spot for many people. I’ll definitely be back (maybe with my own towel, just in case)!

The overall technique was comfortable
The staff were very friendly too~
Some pressure points were missed, which was a bit of a pity.
It felt like the therapist was a beginner — I could sense a bit of uncertainty.
But I believe everyone has a starting point!
I still recommend coming here for a massage.
Looking forward to experiencing a more consistent massage next time! ✨

This was not my first time at this branch of Endota Spa. It is also not my favourite branch as it is very small. They do not have the full spa menu due to space constraints so a lot of the body treatments are not included in the spa menu.

I had a facial that I had was not cheap. The beauty therapist was very well-trained and I enjoyed the arm and hand massage as well as the scalp massage during the LED light treatment as well as during the mask.

The facial was nice ie nothing spectacular and nothing to rave about.

If I had to go to an endota spa, I would choose the one at Glenelg.

I would recommend the spa as a great place for self-care.

Selene is Adelaide CBD’s new luxury spa offering. It did not disappoint.

The moment you step in, you can tell that attention to detail has been paid to this luxe venue for pampering and holistic healing.

The spa is well-designed and appointed. Located in the old Dunn & Bradstreet building, ceilings are high. Like top notch spa retreats overseas, there is the sense of space and air that immediately lowers your cortisol levels.

Cassidy, the spa manager is warm and unlike a lot of other spas, you can feel her genuine warmth and kindness. She connects to clients in an empathetic way which is not fake like in many high-end spas.

I tried their seasonal offering: “Spring Ayurvedic Detox Ritual” together with an Indian Head Massage. (Details available on their web site).

I think every spa treatment should start with an Indian head massage. It is an ideal way to start your relaxation journey.

Dr Shweta, their resident Ayurvedic practitioner is professional and knowledgable. If you have not tried Ayurvedic treatments before, you should. They are treatments that are filled with warmth and positive healing vibes. Dr Shweta’s energy is calm and nurturing and that energy flows through all her treatments.

The spa is as of writing (September 2025) still very new.

Parking is either available in the car park off Gilles Arcade or opposite at the rear of the Sofitel Hotel.

I did provide feedback about the size of the change room and how top-end resort spas have their change facilities depending on the client’s treatments.

I listened to Dr Shweta’s instructions post-treatment and am feeling detoxed and definitely more relaxed the day after. The herbal powder scrub massage has made my skin even smoother. It would have been nice to shower after the head massage and herbal powder scrub because it was not 100% comfortable lying there with the scrub grains. I am used to having a shower after scrubs.

After my treatment, I got to relax in the lounge with some warm water, warm tea and light snacks. The protein balls are made by the owner and are delicious. The date stuffed with walnuts was perfect. I wish I had asked for an extra protein ball but I was in such bliss that I didn’t think about it.

I definitely will be back to try a regular massage and facial.

I am sure it will not be long before Selene takes top spot as Adelaide’s best spa. If you have been to the spa at Eon Skycity, this rivals them in terms of the level of luxe. The only thing that is missing is the steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and pool. However, Selene do have a cocoon pod and herbal steam bath.

Looking forwards to my next visit!

Such a wonderful place. I arrived feeling overwhelmed with life and full of stress but from the moment I walked in it was a magical, soothing experience. Amazing service from everyone and a wonderful massage from Gabbi helped me feel a thousand times better. A relaxing space with lovely added touches (tea and a treat) made it feel more then just a massage. A lovely new spa in the centre of the city that you need to visit.

I had a truly amazing experience at Selen Wellness Spa! I booked the Lunar Detox and Cocoon Pod treatment, and left feeling deeply relaxed, rebalanced, and completely refreshed.

The atmosphere was calming and peaceful from the moment I arrived. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and professional, making me feel welcomed and cared for throughout the entire visit.

What made it even more special was the beautiful nourishment tea and snack offered afterwards — such a thoughtful touch that really added to my joy and the overall sense of care.

Highly recommend this space if you’re looking to disconnect, recharge, and treat yourself to a truly nurturing experience. I can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely outstanding.

Managed to get a 60 minute appointment. Massage was divine.

If you are a fan of beautifully designed spaces, the fluffiest of towels and talented massage therapists ts then this is for you.

My therapist was careful to check in regularly to make sure I was comfortable and the level of pressure perfect. It was a superb experience.

Feel blessed to have discovered Selene.

A beautiful, high end, well appointed day spa. The staff were so lovely, and accomodating. They were unable to offer part of the service I had booked due to last minute staff illness and sent me home with a beautiful gift to offer there apologies which was very unnecessary but much appreciated. Highly recommend checking this spa out.

UPDATE:
Since I first reviewed the EOS spa, I have returned twice. It is still by far the best spa that Adelaide has to offer in terms of a blissful and luxe experience. Make sure to arrive at least an hour before your treatment starts to have a relaxing steam or sauna and to sit in the jacuzzi. It really helps to prepare you to relax. My favourite self care treat.
=================================
This is the most luxe spa to treat yourself to for a special occasion. I highly recommend booking a room so that you can use the spa facilities first to unwind and relax. This was not my first time at this spa but this is the first time I chose a “mega” package. The Enlightenment (? I think?) is 3 hours of complete and utter bliss. My therapist was Evie who is not only professional but has a wonderful calm and serene energy to her demeanour. I have tried luxury spas around the world for many years now and I rate her highly. She has magic hands and a rhythm that is natural. Do not choose this pampering, blissful treatment if you are looking to loosen knots or get a deep cleanse facial. This is for pure pampering and relaxation. So nice to just roll up to the hotel room in the gown and just nap.

A luxury experience with friends.

We had the opportunity to take up the winter wellness special (60min massage and 15min back scrub) as a trio and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a relaxing pampered experience with access to their steam room, sauna and pool/spa (wish it was warmer) 60mins prior to our appointment. The massage was tailored to our requirements and the staff were super friendly and professional.
It ended with us relaxing on their couches, chatting and sipping tea

Only thing missing was a much needed express facial add on. The selections were too expensive for on top of our day.

This has to be the best luxury Day Spa in Adelaide!

My partner and I booked a staycay at EOS and did not want to miss out on a visit to the spa – we loved using the pool, hot spa, steam and sauna (highly recommend taking them up on the complimentary use when booked in for a spa treatment)

We both managed to book in for a 90 minute wellness massage with Agnes which was sensational. Agnes has such a beautiful touch, she got into our sore spots and did one of the best massages I’ve had in such a long time! I honestly almost fell asleep!

Thanks EOS and Agnes for a memorable experience, we hope to come back soon – Hayden & Chantal

This was absolutely amazing experience. We enjoyed complimentary time is the steam room, sauna, swimming pool and our door spa prior to out treatment.
We ordered fabulous massive club sandwich with chips and ate them on the pool lounges.
Then had our incredible spa treatment!!! This included hot stone massage, facial and foot treatment. OMG absolutely incredible.
Highly recommend this spa to be the best in Adelaide considering all the extra facilities provided.
Thanks so much to all staff and therapist Jess.

My first hotel spa experience in Adelaide, and it did not disappoint at all! The service was comparable to that of spa treatments I’ve gotten at 5 star hotels overseas. The spa therapist I had (Amelia) was arguably one of the best I’ve encountered. From her professionalism, her attentive and caring experience; I’d recommend anyone looking to treat themselves, give this place a go!

Eassa Day Spa offers a welcome opportunity for relaxation and rejuvenation. The focus appears to be on providing quality treatments at a more accessible price point, and the therapists clearly demonstrate considerable skill in their respective fields. The experience can be wonderfully restorative, offering a chance to de-stress and enjoy some much-needed self-care; the skilled therapists are a true asset.

While not a luxury establishment, the value for money is apparent. Guests can expect a clean and well-maintained environment, and the chance to indulge in professional massage and facial treatments. It’s a great option for those seeking effective and personalized care without the highest-end price tag, truly fostering a place for affordable well-being.

Avoid this place at all costs.

I booked a one-hour deep tissue massage and instead got the most bizarre, useless session imaginable. They’d clearly called in someone at the last minute to “play” therapist. Rather than working on muscles, she had her fingers in my ears, pulled my hair, and scratched my scalp with long fake nails. No technique, no skill – absolutely no idea what she was doing.

When I spoke to the receptionist to request a refund, she called the manager – and that’s when it turned into a circus. Loud screaming, aggressive finger-pointing, arguing in their language, and even threats to call the police… all because I dared to ask for my money back.

This place is a total sham. If you value your time, money, and sanity – go anywhere else.

UPDATE:
I recently returned for a facial and massage. First off, they did not tell me that the therapist for the massage and facial would be different. The massage therapist had a cold and was sniffling through the whole session. It was very disconcerting. Secondly, the beauty therapist was extremely rough with the facial. She did ask me twice if she should be more gentle and I said “yes” but it was still the most rough facial that I have had. I have downgraded my review from 3⭐️ to 1⭐️ – you pay for what you get.

==================================

Firstly, this is not a luxury day spa. However, with the way cost of living is going, self care needs to fit a budget. The spa is clean and neat. I had a 60-min massage and a detox and deep clean facial. Whilst the beds are not as comfortable as luxury day spas and the towels are like those from a motel, my therapist Frantine was 5-stars.

It is on the rare occasion that one would come across a therapist who is equally good in massaging as well as the facial. Frantine has the highly sought after “magic hands”. The pressure for the massage was perfect as was her technique during the facial. Due to her skill and talent alone, it has bumped what would have been 2-stars to 3-stars.

The minus points were:
1) No offer of water or tea on arrival
2) I was told to go to the 2nd floor – the place has 2 mezzanines and it’s confusing
3) uncomfortable beds
4) the bolster placed under the knees is very thin
5) scrappy old and thin towels that are not too small – they should use bath sheets
6) no offer of water or tea at the end of the treatment
7) the equipment was dragged from the room whilst I was dosing off during the mask-portion of my facial which woke me up.

Even so, for Frantine’s skill, I would return for another massage and facial.

Updates:

Since posting my original review, I have promptly received the refund and a sincere apology from the management. She explained the situation and offered a remedy. I appreciate her efforts to address the issue, and I will be updating my rating to reflect this. I realise they did take this situation seriously. I sincerely wish Eassa Day Spa all the best and continued improvement.

Original:

I used to be a frequent customer but yesterday was incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

I had booked an appointment yesterday morning in advance for 5:30 PM and arrived on time, only to find the place completely empty—no one at reception, no staff upstairs.

I waited patiently, called the phone number twice, and both times my call was immediately hung up on.

Finally, at around 6:30 PM, a staff member showed up and said it was my turn. But here’s the thing: she wasn’t even the person I originally booked the appointment with. She was clearly just stepping in to cover the situation. If I had waited for the staff member I actually booked with, I would’ve had to wait until after 7 PM.

The reason for this chaos is a complete lack of communication between the front desk and the massage therapist. The therapist had taken another client at 5:20 PM—right before my scheduled appointment—as a result I was left waiting for an entire hour.
When I finally went to the front desk to raise my concerns, clearly upset, the massage therapist just simply hid in the back.

Sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements to prevent this from happening again.

The afternoon itself was lovely. I had a foot pedicure and my gel nails on my fingers removed and reapplied.

Absolutely gutted that this is day three and they’re so badly chipped. I’ve had gel nails for 5+ years and this is the worst application for durability. My first chip happened on day 1 .
I spoke with the spa and the rectified my complaint. Very much appreciated.

Frequently Asked Questions about Day Spas in Adelaide

What exactly is a day spa, and what do they offer?

A day spa is a facility that offers a variety of pampering treatments and relaxation services, usually for a few hours or a full day. Services commonly include massages, facials, body wraps, manicures, pedicures, and access to amenities like saunas, steam rooms, and relaxation lounges. The goal is to provide a complete escape from stress and promote overall well-being.

How much do day spas in Adelaide typically cost?

The cost of a day spa experience can vary greatly depending on the treatments you choose and the spa’s reputation. A simple facial might cost around $100-$150, while a full-day package including multiple treatments and access to amenities could easily cost $300-$500 or more. Look for package deals and consider your budget when selecting a spa.

What should I expect during my first visit to a day spa?

Upon arrival, you’re usually greeted and given a tour of the facilities. A staff member will explain the available services and answer any questions you have. Before any treatments, you're typically asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding your health history and any allergies. Remember to communicate any concerns or preferences to your therapist.

Are there any health considerations I should be aware of before going to a day spa?

It’s essential to inform the spa of any pre-existing health conditions, such as pregnancy, skin allergies, or heart conditions. Certain treatments may not be suitable for everyone. Consult with your doctor if you have any concerns. Communication with the staff is key for a safe and enjoyable experience.

What type of clothing should I wear to a day spa?

Most spas will provide a robe and disposable underwear for treatments. Comfortable and loose-fitting clothing is recommended for before and after your treatments. You will typically be undressed for each individual treatment by a professional.

How do I choose a reputable day spa in Adelaide?

Look for spas with positive online reviews and a clean and well-maintained appearance. Check if the spa is licensed and insured. Consider the qualifications and experience of the therapists and look for spas that prioritize hygiene and client safety.

Can I bring a friend or partner with me?

Many day spas allow couples and friends to share the experience, either by booking separate treatments or enjoying shared relaxation areas. It’s best to check with the spa beforehand about their policies and any restrictions.

What is the etiquette for interacting with spa therapists?

During treatments, it’s appropriate to communicate your comfort levels and preferences to the therapist. If something feels uncomfortable, speak up. After the treatment, a tip is customary for excellent service, typically around 10-20%. Be respectful and maintain a professional demeanor.

What is a "signature treatment" and why might I want one?

A "signature treatment" is a unique, often luxurious treatment that a day spa is particularly known for. It often combines several techniques or uses specialized products. These can provide a more elevated experience and are a good way to explore the spa’s specialties.

What if I’m running late for my appointment?

It’s best to contact the spa as soon as possible if you’re running late. While they may try to accommodate you, being significantly late could result in a cancellation or a reduced treatment time. Punctuality is appreciated to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.
