Customer Reviews
Wasai Japanese Kitchen has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 based on over 600 reviews on Google
I had a great solo dinner at Wasai and was impressed by the whole experience. The restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated with Japanese art, and the soft 80s city pop music playing in the background adds a relaxed, nostalgic vibe. It was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday night—by 6:40 pm, people were already waiting for tables. The food was solid overall. The sashimi was fresh, though the slices were on the thinner side. The tempura stood out—light, crisp, and full of flavour. I finished with the tofu donuts, which were subtly sweet—not super sweet, which some may like but wasn’t quite to my taste. They also gave me complimentary edamame, which was a nice touch, though slightly soft. I had a glass of sake to complement the meal, and all up it came to $80. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Would happily return, great for a solo dinner or a relaxed night out with friends, though it is on the pricey side.
It was good to return to Wasai again. After They are a reliable Japanese restaurant to go to with a menu that includes Vegan options. When I made my reservation, I put in the note that someone dining with us is Vegan and they provided a Vegan menu. +1⭐️ We had the tuna sashimi from the specials menu. It was fresh and sliced well. Also from the specials menu was the grilled Mackerel which I enjoyed very much. The medium Sashimi and Sushi boat was generous and priced well for 2 people to share. We also had the grilled squid which was grilled to perfection - it was tender and sweet. The beef tataki was beautifully sliced thinly with a light sauce and combined with the fresh sliced red onion, it was delicious. +3⭐️ Our Vegan friend had a bowl of hearty soba noodles that came with a plate of tempura vegetables. It was enjoyed. +1⭐️ One of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Adelaide.
Các món ăn ở đây đều dễ hợp khẩu vị , giá cả phù hợp, chất lượng cao, không khí thân thiện, nên ghé một lần khi đến Adelaide , khu vực này trung tâm dễ đi lại .
food was very nice. everything was very fresh, great portion of rice on sushi(not much, not less). flavour was great too. nothing to complaint
Very biased when it comes to Wasai as we've fancied this establishment for many years. Their soba salad is a favourite of ours, alongside aburi salmon and agedashi tofu. If you had to choose a dish to share, I'd highly recommend the wagyu sukiyaki with a cheeky egg. Add some udon noodles, and enjoy a luscious broth afterwards ✨ Bookings are essential, especially since they've downsized. Wish they were open a little later for the night owls!
Very nice staff and very authentic food. The soba salad is a must try. We keep coming back for it. The beef tataki was fresh and agedashi tofu is quite good too.
Sashimi is divine. Don is great! Softshell crab roll is impressive. Wasai never disappoints us.
